  1. So we've poured over the guides and we still have a few questions about filing for "adjustment of status" for my K-1 fiance and her two children who entered at the same time as K-2's.

Is anything having to do with the medical required for filing if filing less than 1 year from date of physical in her home country? The K-1 guide "tips" seem to indicate something about needing I-693 form regarding vaccination status?

For the kids, do they also each require a form G-325a?

Also, as K-2's I don't think they we're issued A-numbers... I can't find that anywhere on their paperwork...passports, I-94's, visa, etc. We definitely have the A-number for my wife.

Thanks for any help or suggestions...

  2. So I did a search on this topic and I did not find a definitive answer. Me and my fiancé from Guatemala are filing for the 2nd time… we filed last summer and although there were no problems, we stopped the process after NOA2 and decided to wait a bit longer. Our NOA2 has long since expired and now we are ready and filing again... so on the form I-129F, we have to answer "yes" to question #14… "have you ever filed for this or any other alien fiancé(e) or husband/wife before". I assume this is all the beneficiaries information? (A-number, name, etc.) But I'm not sure what they want us to enter on question #14f/g… CITY or TOWN/STATE? Is this my (the petitioner) town/state when I filed? Her town or the lockbox we sent to or the service center (initially VSC transferred to TSC in our case)?

    Any help would be appreciated!

  3. Just received text and email informing us they have approved our case, so NOA2 received 72 days following NOA1. Like everyone else, I didnt expect this till maybe October or November. We were in the Aug. 9 batch of transfers from VSC to TSC. Just checked the USCIS website and the cases around ours... at this point they all still show the same status they have for weeks... "initial review". This seems as random as a lightning strike! Now on to the next stage!

  4. The case two numbers "after" ours got an RFE only 3 days after our NOA1 date. I'm not even sure these case numbers are issued sequentially... how could their case # be "after" us and get an RFE only 3 days after our NOA1? Seems like their NOA1 would have to be before ours (by quite a bit). All other K1 case numbers around ours are still in initial review. We're in the July 9 batch of transfers from VSC to TSC. At this point it does seem quite random so all we can do is wait and hope!

  5. Thanks for the replies... after having time to look through the resources here, I found the Guatemala specific information... THANKS! The Guatemala consulate reviews look pretty straightforward. POE for us will be Houston and I found reviews of that as well. I have found all kinds of information in the last 24 hours... this page has lots of guidance on Guatemala: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/gt/gt-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp

Just waiting, and... waiting.... and waiting!

  6. We're about 7-8 weeks into our K1 visa journey before I discovered this resource/forum. I'm from Texas and my fiancé Iris is from Guatemala. We've known each other for a little over two years and got engaged back in May. No background or income issues, lot's of visits and relationship evidence... hoping for no RFE's and smooth sailing/quick approval.

Anyone have any specific experience with Guatemala K1's and the embassy there?

    6/25/13: I29f filed

    7/1/13: NOA1 received

8/9/13: Case transferred from Vermont to Texas

    Now we wait!

    Russ
