  1. I live in TN, and I had some trouble when trying to get my DL in Memphis last year. I was able to get a CFD with my EAD card but as soon as I got my conditional green card I was able to get the DL, and it won’t expire when the conditional GC expires.

    I’ve noticed that people at the DMV at Shelby Dr knew more about these rules than the ones working at Summer Ave. I would go to another DMV, or try to talk to a supervisor.

  2. In my case I got 3 different emails.

    First: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident. Second: Card production ordered. Then I got the welcome notice in the mail.

    The third email was the Approval notice sent. I’m guessing this means that they have mailed the green card, and so this is the email that tells you that the green card have been sent.

  3. I almost could not believe when I checked my email and saw 6 emails from USCIS.

    APPROVED!!! :dance::dance::dance:

    I was not expecting to find any news... I’ve checked the USCIS website yesterday night and there was nothing new on my AOS case. Today when I opened my mail box I was not even thinking that I could have any email from them… but SURPRISE the approval notice was there from a late email yesterday (the welcome notice email), and a new one today (card production ordered) … it seems that someone is working during the holiday! What a great Thanksgiving surprise!! :dance::D:dance:

    Good luck for everybody waiting for approval!

  4. This is a probably a silly question... But what proof of residence do you need to get a driving licence? I have a NOA for my AOS but as this doesn't include a date for "how long I can stay" it's not valid to get a licence in Georgia. What do I need to prove I'm allowed to stay here and therefore hold a driving licence before I get the green card itself?

    I had to wait for my EAD to get a driver’s license here in Tennessee. If you have a DL from your country of origin you are allowed to use it in most of the states I think.
