  1. From everything I have read, I was expecting my fiancé to get an email from the El Salvadorian embassy telling him that the passport for him and his daughter had arrived at the Cargo Express where we registered... However, today our case status changed to ISSUED and he received a call from the embassy giving him a date and a time to go pick up the passports (at the EMBASSY)... is this normal??? should I buy the plane tickets now? or can something else happen? thanks!

  2. You will have your visa soon

The cration date changed that is a good sign.

    Soon it will be issued.

    Congratulations.

    Soon it will be issued.

    Congratulations.

Thank you for this encouragement, but WHY did they change the creation date? and why is that a good sign? That is good news indeed, but I struggle to understand why they do all of this! :) Also, any ideas on the time frame? a week, several weeks, a month? thanks again!

  3. I am very confused about what the CEAC updates mean... can you help???

We have been in Administrative Processing at the US embassy in El Salvador since August, 2013.

3-31-14 my fiancé's medicals were redone

    4-28-14 passports were requested

    4-30-14 passports sent in

5-02-14- CEAC updated to this date, but still Administrative Processing

    5-06-14- CEAC updated to READY

5-07-14- CEAC updated to Administrative Processing (this time the case creation date changed to 5-07-14, when it used to say 5-03-13)

    5-12-14- CEAC updated to READY

From everything I read, I thought that ISSUED would come after administrative processing.. now, I don't know what is going on??? anybody had a similar experience??

  4. I was curious about this myself... I am in a slightly different situation since we have been in administrative processing since August. After 7 months, they requested new medicals mid-march, which were completed at the end of march and received by the embassy on April 2nd. We thought that it would be a couple of weeks before we heard from the embassy requesting the passports, but, it was almost 4 weeks, and they finally sent a request yesterday for my fiancé to send his and his daughters passports. He will be sending the passports via cargo express on Wednesday... does anyone have any idea how long it could take to get the visas back? I'm not getting my hopes up, because every step has ended up taking longer than we expected... but, a round about idea would be nice :)

  5. When he had is interview on August 14th, they told him that they didn't doubt our relationship, but that they needed to investigate our case further. We were never asked for more paperwork or anything like that- he was never handed a paper explaining why... we can only assume. He has some very small tattoos from when he was young, and I believe that with the gang issues in El Salvador that they probably had to look into them, however, there is no significance to them, and he has never had any type of problems with the police or law enforcement... so, I THINK that is why, but I can't be sure.

We were just given the 221g information on Monday- saying we are ineligible because we lack necessary paperwork, and the only thing that they have asked for is the new medicals...

  6. Ok, my question is two-fold.

First, to explain the background- my fiancé is from El Salvador and had his interview on August 14th, 2013 and we have been in administrative processing since then. Yesterday, we received and email from the embassy after 7 months in administrative processing requesting new medicals. Until they receive them, he is ineligible to receive a visa under 221(g) or whatever it is called. He was able to make an appointment for his new medical exams next week. This is the only additional paperwork that they have requested from him.

My question is, could we still be denied? or is this a pretty good sign that we are close to the end? And, does anyone have any idea how close we are to the end?

Second, He still has his passport, and they did not request him to send it in yet... should we just wait until they ask for it? or should we call and see if he can send it in?

    Thanks!

  7. Yesterday, my husband took a trip to the medical office where he went to redo his medical exam and ask why it's taking a long time to send the psychology result. It turns out that the psychologist send the result to the medical office but the doctor who attended him never send it to the embassy. She told him not to worry because soon she will send it. My question is, how soon?

    Wow... unbelievable...

  8. Oh. Well, it looks like you and your fiance need to be prepared for a stokes interview. Trust me, me and my husband had a dual interview back in Nov 2011 and they denied the visa because the officer felt we weren't legit. We were interviewed separated. Long story but I advise you to be prepared because they are going to ask tons of questions.

I am beyond confused. We sent an email to the address they told us, but they replied that we are still in administrative processing and that we don't need to have an interview. I thought there must have been a mistake, so I resent the email (attaching the email from them), and they responded the same- told me to ignore them email, because we are still in administrative processing... what is going on???

  9. I contacted my senator about a week and a half ago, and received a response this morning. I quickly got all of my paperwork ready and faxed it over at about noon. When I checked my status on the CEAC about 2 hours later, we were updated today! I don't know if that is connected... not sure if I should get excited or not, but I am a bucket of nerves, that's for sure... first status update that is not a result of me sending an email...

  10. The embassy don't tell me nothing. I believe his visa will be issued after he redo his requested medicals but somehow, we are stuck with the psychology one.

Mabel, have you emailed the embassy and ask?

yes, I've emailed about once a month, and get the standard... "we can't do anything until you are out of administrative processing..."

just tired of feeling like my hands are tied and I can't do anything to help the situation.

  11. My husband had his interview last year on May 21 and we are past 8 months of administrative processing. The embassy requested a new medical on October 2013 and went to his medical appointment on November 7, 2013. The doctor told him he has to see a psychologist and the appointment was scheduled on December 2, 2013. The psychologist said he passed and that the result will arrive at the embassy one week to a month. We're past 2 months from his last appointment. My husband called numerous times to the office and they claim they will send it the next day? Don't know what to do.

    that is so frustrating...

has he been approved? did they say that if he got the medical exam done that they would give him the visa?

I am just so concerned that after all this time they will just tell us NO...

  12. What is the longest anyone has had to wait without hearing from the embassy? My fiancé had his interview on August 14th, and on February 14th we will have been in administrative processing for 6 months. We weren't required to turn anything else in (although now the medical exams have expired...)... we have not heard a peep from the embassy since they called him on October 29th to let them know they would be starting the investigations on his case...

Has anyone had to wait this long?

Is this at all a good sign?

I know that it says administrative processing is usually resolved in 6-8 weeks (but can take up to 8 months)... I am really hoping that it won't take longer than 8 months... again, has anyone had to wait this long WITHOUT hearing from the embassy?? thanks!

  13. Mabel321 why did yours get denied in interview???

We didn't get denied. They said that they didn't doubt our relationship, but that they needed to keep investigating. They didn't ask for any more papers. My fiancé has had absolutely NO issues with the police, drugs, gangs, etc. Absolutely no history to worry about..., so it's a mystery to us. Trusting God's timing is perfect, but it doesn't make the wait any easier.
