16th May 2014 - ELIS Card Produced & Case Closed

19th May 2014 - Card Received

status on USCIS: On May 13, 2014, the production of your new card began. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move while this card is being created, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

We applied the SSN May 7 and got the SSN card May 12. The ELIS status is "optimized" now.

Called USCIS yesterday and spoke to ISO. They cannot Give provide the estimate time. Many cases are pending due to huge backlog.

Which no. did you call USCIS? and what is the case NO. you provided to them?

Have you applied for an SSN yet?

If not I suggest you do so. Start counting when you may get the green card from the POE date as that is after payment date. You haven't yet reached 1 month which is the soonest I've seen it happen.

No, I haven't applied for an SSN yet and is going to do it tomorrow. I am not sure how long we will get the GC.

ELIS's status is still under acceptance.

Finally, I got the passport and visa package back last night. The online status is still not updated.

I called the branch last night (in the morning China time) and they don't have my passport yet. Also I called the Citic Bank in Guangzhou and was told the passport has shipped to Changsha on Mar. 12 and should be Changsha now. However, I don't know where it is and will call again tonight.

My passport status is Origination Scan since Mar. 12 and have not received the passport yes as of Mar. 14. Hopefully, It will come next Monday. BTW, the passport will be sent to Citic Bank in Changsha.

I came back to US last night and checked the status and found the visa was issue on March 10. I have to travel back again to bring my son to US.

I went to the interview with my son on Feb. 18 and got the final processing letter (white one) and was asked to submit the notarized copies of his father's passport with my son's passport and visa pictures. I dropped all the docs at Citic on Feb. 24, and the status has been updated on Feb. 26.

After about ten days waiting, I checked the status on CEAC today and the status is changed into "Ready" as follows:

If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Does it mean we need to interview again? If the interview is required, are we going to have to wait for our passport back?

I figured as much.. when I logged into the ELIS account.. it still says "accepted and pending review".. looks like they are really backlogged.. also the two weeks Christmas/New Years vacation didn't help either.. did you try logging in as well, noahsmama?

Thanks a lot for the reply. I read at other topics related to interview schedule and found it might be best time to check it on Monday morning in China time. I am going to do that and see If I am luck to get the interview to be scheduled.

I am trying to schedule the interview in the middle of Feb online. However, I only see four dates in Jan. available and I can not schedule it after Jan. Do you guys know when the dates in Feb. will be available?

I just called DOS hotline again. When I called for the first time, the person told me no status for my case. Then I called again, another person told me they just received a G-28 form in Dec. and are reviewing the case. but they cannot tell me the exact date for the status.

It is more than three months since the case was shipped now.

AP after casefile opened is normal.

I just called a moment ago and was told the case is still pending for AP. That is what I was told one month ago.

I emailed them twice last month and did not get any response. Also I asked my attorney to email them on Dec. 26 and did not get any response yet.

My attorney told me I don't need to pay the visa application fee since I already paid online during NVC processing. My case type is E2, and it might be different from K-1 visa. How can I know I should pay the fee online?

no, nothing is useful until you know where the casefile is. Don't know where the casefile is? Then it's still inside the China Customs Warehouse, patiently waiting it's turn for China Customs Release.

is best to call the DoS Hotline once a week (# in my profile) and inquire for casefile status.

When the casefile status changes to 'Casefile Opened' , then this is the indicator you want, as the casefile previously moved out of the China Customs Warehouse, the IV Unit got it, and has logged the casefile into their system. After 'Casefile Opened' status, is useful to pay the IV Fee with CITIC Bank and attempt to self-schedule at ustraveldocs.com/cn

Seriously, use a Telephone, call into the DoS Hotline once a week.

When I called DOS last week and was told GUZ IV got and opened case file. However, when I called another time, I was told there is no status at all. I am confused about that. Also, the online status is still ready and I can not self-schedule at all.
