  1. So after waiting 7 weeks and 2 days I finally have my son and I visas in hand, Thanks be to God. I just want to thank my fellow VJers for their support and encouragement in such a frustrating period and process. One thing for sure though, it does help when you email the embassy even though they don't respond and it is also good to call DOS as they can give up an update on your case. For those who are waiting to receive their visas have faith and pray you will get your visas.

  2. It seems that the embassy in Kingston has picked up the slow pace smile.png this makes me really happy! A few individuals have shared really great news on their status update on the CEAC website. I hope each day more great news will trickle in. The embassy will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, but we still have two days remaining in this,week...

Yes indeed, I am surely praying for some good news for the rest of the week and the coming week.

  3. Yay!!! My fiance had his interview today in Jamaica at 8:30am this morning and was approved. I haven't received the full details as yet but the only questions they asked was how we met, they asked him general information about my daughter and what I do for a living. They took all the required documents and none of the support to prove on-going relationship (i.e., phone records, pictures etc). They did also take the DHL screen print. He was out of there at 11:30am and they told him he should have his visa within 3 weeks (hopefully this is true!!)

Overall, it sounded like it was a smooth process with nothing un-expected but he was adequately prepared for anything.

Now let the AP waiting games begin! Once I get further info I will also post a review.

God is an awesome, on-time God!!!!

Kool, all the best, hope you get your visa in your hands ASAP. Yes God is awesome!!!

  4. Continue to email the embassy daily as they will respond to one of your emails soon or later. They are good at ignoring emails. Be sure to include in your email the fact tat you have spoken to DOS and explain to them what DOS explained to you. As you email them, contact your congress person to assist you. I've been told they must respond to a goverment official within 48 hours. Write your congress person ASAP.

I can't wait for my fiancé to get his visa in his hands because the embassy drags so much tat it's beyond ridiculous. Good luck!

Thanks, I will take your advice. I have emailed the embassy three times now (13, 20 & 27 of august) and my husband emailed them once (August 18) and no response. My husband called the congressman office already and they asked him to come to the office, which he will do during the course of this week.

  5. Today marks seven weeks since my son and i did our interview and our CEAC status has been saying 'READY' since August 02, 2013, it was last updated August 23, 2013 and it is still saying 'READY'. Of note, our case was in Administrative Processing for approximately three weeks and now four weeks of being 'READY". I called DOS and they told me that all is well with the case and that i am to contact the Kingston Embassy as they dont see why the visas are not yet 'ISSUED', DOS also told me to have my petitioner contact the congressman for his assistance. I have emailed the kingston embassy more than one time now and still no response. What should i do now? what should be my next step?

  6. Good morning,

So I called the Department of State this morning and found out that my baby's visa was ISSUED! I would like to thank God first and foremost! I am extremely grateful. Tomorrow will make 1 year since I received NOA1. This has been a long journey that's still in the making but now I am a step closer to the finish line. This journey has been far from easy, but through the midst of it all, I have learned that nothing happens on our time... God was teaching me patience and I overlooked it. The minute I gave in and left it in his hands, he came through. He's an on time God! I cried tears of joy, an I will cry greater tears once his visa is in his hands...

To all of those still in the process, don't give up! I know the stress and frustrations this brings! We are a VJ community which is the beauty of it all. We understand each others pain when no one else does. I think that the immigration laws President Obama is passing is forcing service centers to process petitions faster and I think the Kingston Embassy is attempting to catch up with its paper work in preparation for the heavy case loads they will be receiving. I promised to share my updated information with you all and I will continue to do so as my journey is not over. I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Did the CEAC status check updated to "issued" as well? congrats again my friend!

  7. Did your case creation date change? Mine changed from April to August on Thursday... Hopefully many of us will receive good news this upcoming week. It's almost Sunday smile.png

No, my case creation date did not change because my petition is F2@ and yours i believe is K-1. They are different petitions, hence the creation date wont chnage for some types of petition.

  8. I called DOS this morning and they said to give them a call back in a few days because it looks like my case is in the final stages which is the first they have said anything of that nature. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for every case in AP

When i called DOS yesterday they sort of give me that same response too, call back in a a few days. lets hope for the best then!!!

  9. So my original creation date was April 23, 2013 and my last status update was July 29, 2013. I just checked the CEAC website and both my case creation date and status update date both changed to today's date. I don't know if I should be happy or sad. I must admit that in a little excited smile.png. My question is for those who have been in Administrative Processing, is the status and case update date being changed to today's date a good thing? And should I look forward to my case moving forward sooner than later or should I prepare for a long wait? I am interested to know what to somewhat expect... I sent the embassy two emails yesterday and then I find the changes today although they did not respond to any of my emails. Any help/ advice will be appreciated. Please and Thank You!

My status update changed Tuesday when i called DOS, It has not changed since then even tho i have emailed the embassy August 13 and 20 and my husband emailed them August 18, we have not even received a response other than their auto response message. so I dont really know what if they looked at your case or because you have emailed them.

  10. I think it would be nice to start a thread for Administrative Processing long wait times at the Kingston Embassy...

Case Creation Date: April 23, 2013

    Interview Date: July 5, 2013

Submitted Additional Documents: July 9, 2013

Documents Processed in their System: July 15, 2013

Status Updated Date: July 29, 2013

TO THIS DAY I'M TILL WAITING. THIS FRIDY WILL MAKE SEVEN WEEKS AND COUNTING sad.png

Have you emailed the embassy and called DOS too?

i agree!! i ihave been waiting over six weeks now

  12. As far as I know the CEAC website is not accurate at all times. AP can be a long process. I was told that there is no maximum time frame on how long one can be in AP. This Friday will make 7 weeks since I have been in AP and after my fiancés interview he was given the DHL instruction sheet along with a small green piece of paper attached to it. They told us we would hear from them wishing a couple weeks and so far we have heard nothing. I think once placed in AP at the Kingston Embassy they place the files to the side. I notice many people who were requested to submit additional documents stay in AP for a longer time. Emailing the embassy is no help because you receive an automated message saying they will respond in five business days yet they don't respond to some and when they do respond its usually weeks later. I heard contacting your congress person after 60 working days is a good idea which is what I plan to do if I don't hear anything... I hope you hear from them soon. Keep us posted

This process is really frustrating!! I had a friend who did her interview July 11 and she was asked to submit W2 forms from her petitioner hence she was placed in AP. The petitioner sent the W2 forms the following week (July 17) and her visa was issued August 8!!

I will keep you posted tho

  13. U can send them an Email , but rhey wont give U a date or reason U R in AP

which in the islands seem to be a normal admin. process that can take up to

10 weeks , thousands wkly have to be processed not everyone will get visa

in a day or two.Thats the reason they advise Make no plans until visa is in

    hand.

ok, will keep you all posted

    Hi gjo3375,

I am not sure how the US Embassy operates in JA, but it should be relatively the same as in DR.

From my experience, they did not contact me (Agent for my In-Laws), the petitioner or the beneficiaries (this after various emails and phone calls we made to ensure they had the correct contact information on all ends) after the cases were completed and taken out of AP. We found out from the courier delivering the packages that the visa packages had been sent.

If additional information is required they should contact the agent you selected and/or the petitioner. I am not sure how reliable the CEAC is. I have some cases that just became current for priority dates and the site is still showing status "to follow the instructions NVC sent"....blah blah blah...cases are completed and just waiting on Interview Appointments (F2B).

Continue contacting them, politely asking for status updates on your case(s).

    Good Luck.

    Kel

Thnks Kel, will continue contacting them!!

  14. My son and I did our IV interview July 09, 2013 at the Knigston Embassy in JA and were approved and given the green receipts along with the DHL instruction. The following day July 12, 2013, our joint sponsor was called to submit another original AOS form which he mailed via UPS and delivered July 12, 2013 at the Embassy. Our case was placed in AP. On August 02, 2013 the CEAC status was changed to "READY". Several calls were made to DOS as it relates to the true status the case and was told that it was still in AP. I emailed the embassy August 13 to confirm if they have received the second originial copy of AOS from the joint sponsor and no response thus far. I am so confused as I dont know where i stand, school is around the corner and i was hoping that we would get the visas and packages before that time. Does the emabssy contact anyone after AP is finished? if the embassy required additional information would they contact me or my petitioner? is the CEAC reliable?
