  1. Just wanted to ask, I'm an early August 2016 filer at VSC. Did my biometrics last September and heard nothing since.

I called them a few times and was told they are processing July 2016.

I have another month and a half before the date on my GC expires.

Anyone else experiencing this with VSC?

i want to have more information before calling uscis again.

  2. I'm sorry if this was asked before, but just need a clarification.

Mu husband is a USC since 2008, he had GC since 1993, and I have recently receievd my GC. My husband left the US for a few years 2009-2013 (that's how we met), and is now living in the US again since 2013.

If I have my baby outside of the US will he be able to satisfy the 5 year residency requirement if some of the years were as LPR and not USC? Or do the 5 years have to be as a USC only?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Yes, since I finally have my green card and my husband can only stay with me in Canada for upto 6 weeks when baby is born. We are so tired of spending the last year+ between 2 countries with the i-130 process that we just want to go back together as a family before he needs to be back to work.

Can the baby enter US with canadian passport while waiting for CRBA?

  4. Thank you both for your reply. I am in the Toronto area.

Is it reasonable to expect to receive the CRBA and passport for the baby within few weeks of our appointment assuming that all our papers and proofs are in order?

  5. Hey all,

I am feeling a little bit lost in this mess. Has anyone here applied for CBRA for their child that was born in Canada? Was this a difficult process or is it relatively quick?

My husband is a USC and I recently got my green card, but circumstances require me to stay in Canada for birth of the baby.

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Hi,

My question is to those who have been through the interview part,

I emailed my documents to NVC and will be bringing originals with me to the interview. Do they take and keep the originals or do they take the photocopies and just need to see the originals to confirm validity of the photocopy?

I have a few original documents I would like to keep to myself as it would be extremely difficult for me to get a new one (e.g. birth certificate), I even have certified copies of these documents. If they do take the originals is there a way to get them back?

    Thanks!

    L.

  7. I also went to this doctor and had the same experience as Exocet above. He did measure my BP though, but it was pretty quick and he was nice. I went to pick up my envelope.

I was able to book the appointment quite promptly and everything was done quickly.

I did also call the doc in Vaughan since he is closer to me but I was informed he will be back on Sept 9 and it takes 10 business days to get results, so it wouldn't have worked for me anyways.

  8. We didn't call to ask, I just assumed this was ok as I haven't read otherwise anywhere. We submitted the AOS via email before Enroll confirmation. I don't know if it triggered anything in the system because we got the Enroll confirmation right after we emailed the AOS documents.

I suppose now we wait and hope it all went through and got accepted.

OH my, NVC!!! Why can you not give me a straight answer? Called 4 times and was given conflicting info. Question asked- "Can we email AOS and IV before receiving ENROLL acceptance from NVC???" Answer: 2- YES 2-NO you have to wait. GRRRRRRR. I really don't feel like calling again. I guess I will just have to wait some more.

  9. Hi I'm confused and need help. Our case got to NVC in January but we have finally got our case number from NVC ad the IIN BIN numbers 2 days ago. I sent the ENROLL email for EP last night. This morning my hubby tried to log in to see if the bills are ready for us to pay and he got the following message.

"This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. If you believe you have received this message in error, or to resume processing of the case, please contact the NVC immediately."

Is this some sort of a glitch? Has anyone else gotten this?

I'm really worried, we are just starting NVC process.

  10. Have you considered doing EP (since you're in Canada)? Packages are scanned and then emailed instead of snail mailed.

If you don't do EP, then yes originals/certified copies are required to be mailed to NVC. It doesn't matter if you send them together or separate.

Please review posts 1 and 2, and if you want to do EP, then read the wiki linked in my signature below (as well as in post 1).

I would for sure like to do EP. I am just still figuring it all out, thank you for pointing it out to me. I will read more about it.

  11. your file was most likely not transferred to SF, but rather to Cali, Texas or Nebraska. The transfers are to other USCIS offices, the "local office" in notification is just a glitch.

you will receive a letter that will say to wait for 60 days, so your approval can be anytime in the 60 day range, but there are some people here who have been waiting longer.

    hopefully you get approved soon!

  12. hmm...so something odd. I have been going through some MSC numbers + or minus mine by a few digits just to see where I am in line.

Just today, MSC numbers behind me by 3 or 4 were transferred. Also, MSC numbers ahead of me by 1 or 2 were also transferred today. So I wonder why mine was skipped. These were all May 14th filers for fiancé/spouse, and I'm sure they weren't expedited because if they were, they would have been transferred a while back.

Not to add to the conspiracy theory, but what are the chances of this happening be because of 'living abroad?"

You think this is something to be concerned about?

I wouldn't overthink it yet and give it few more days to a week. We were transferred this week, but I also was checking and saw that MSC numbers a bit before and a bit after me were transferred earlier than our file. Again nobody knows why is it this way, maybe just depends on what box your file is sitting in.

  13. As far as I know you can request urgent processing for passport renewal at the local Canadian embassy/consulate, you might just have to pay a bit more. I know in Canada they can even give you your new passport that same day (for extra fee) since I remember seeing ppl who realized their passport expired on the day of their flight.

Also on the renewal form they ask you when do you intend to travel, I suppose they will try to have it done before that date for you if this is asked.

Bottom line maybe it's worth to pay the extra fee just to save yourselves the worry.
