Check was cashed on friday and i got my NOA1!!

Quiiiiiick questions..

my husband and i sent off my i-751 last Tuesday (nov 21) to the California service center. It was signed for that Friday (nov 24).

my green card expires december 16th. And we haven’t recieved a NOA-1 yet.

Maybe i am just being anxious waiting for some kind of sign but do i have to worry about my card expiring and not hearing anything? if it expires and we haven’t recieved anything, how should i proceed?

I sent mine in Nov 20th and it was recieved Nov 24th.

I feel kind of nervous.

I hope i get a receipt soon saying that my green card has been extended a year.

my gc expires dec 16th.

has anyone gotten a receipt notice?

They honestly just ask basic questions and depending on who you get interviewing you, they may try and throw curve ball questions just to see how you will answer (this is where they catch people not telling the truth)

the guy interviewing my husband and i asked basic stuff like "what job do you have?" And "what's your husbands birthday?" "How did you meet?"

I'm currently gathering all things to bring to our aos interview this week (yahoooo!)

But i'm a little anxious because my husband and i don't have joint bank accounts, however we do bank at the same bank. Also his mom works there and set me up an account.

My other worry is that our crazy looney landlord hasn't made us sign a new lease yet, but he's fully aware that i am working etc. and has proof of that too. He's not an easy person to deal with and is very hard to get a hold of.

We have everything else together- utility bill, health insurance etc. can we explain about our landlord and not signing a new lease until december?

Do you think that is enough? I feel very anxious thinking about this, so if anyone can ease my mind, please do so!

No, it's only valid one year for everybody, but you can always apply for another one 90 before it's expired if you won't still have your GC on hand!

I got my EAD card yesterday in the mail! I was so relieved, no more anxious waiting on that card!
But, isn't EAD normally for 2 years? or is it one? On my card it's valid for 1 year.

Hope you get it tomorrow, but you can also call USCIS and ask for tracking number, this way you will know where it is!

My card was mailed to me September 1st. I just checked the mail and nothing. Should i be worried? Or should i expect it tomorrow?

Update: My EAD/AP card was mailed yesterday!!

On August 28, 2015, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number **************, to the address you gave us.

Finally some progress! Just waiting for it to arrive now. Hopefully it's here by tomorrow

I randomly checked the app this morning just as i woke up and i got to read:
"On August 27, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSC**********, and will mail it to the address you gave us."

Just woke up with notification from the uscis apps that my EAD n AP has been approved.. n when i check my status online yes its right ... i was expecting it by september wow that was early

Filed AOS Package (June 23.2015), Received Notice of action for all three forms (July 1, 2015) and also received biometrics appointment on July 1, 2015.

Did Biometrics July 21, 2015!!

Checked Case status online last week and it says

"As of July 28, 2015, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC*********, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice."

Lets hope i get something soon or my EAD!!! i have a job lined up and cannot wait to work

I did biometrics July 21st. I checked online 2 weeks later out of curiosity (The online system is so slow) and saw "As of July 28, 2015 Your Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" We will schedule your interview and send you a notice."

Does any one know how long this part takes? Could I get EAD before interview?

I have a job lined up and literally cannot wait to work!!

Agree with Reanjo. You don't want to be living abroad with an expired passport, and it's usually easy to get an expat passport renewal from your local consulate.

I've been panicking thinking about this, so maybe someone can help me out.

My Canadian passport expires next week. I just did biometrics last week here in California for AOS (thru k-1visa)

Am i allowed to have an expired passport? Will that affect me in a bad way? I am worried about getting an interview and having an expired passport. I do have a valid Canadian Drivers License.

Just need clarification and pardon me if it's a straight forward answer. We're about to file AOS/EAD within the next 2 weeks (we get married this coming Monday), and I am just wondering....

When we file, i go through biometrics first, then hopefully get EAD and a interview for a green card.

My question is : When i receive EAD that means i can work while AOS is in process? Or do i have to wait until i actually get the green card in hand?

Hey everyone! 2 questions

1. I'm moving in a week and i just wondered: how do i go about getting an SSN # once i arrive in California? I tried googling but nothing really gave me any straight forward info.

2. After we file our AOS after marriage, for the interview part, i was reading about marriage proof. Is it easy to open a joint bank account? or even add my name to the lease?

How can we even do that when i don't even work in the US yet?

Did she pay a fee when booking her appointment? I payed my visa fee at that time, in oder to get an interview date.

If so, then no- she wouldn't have to pay a fee at her appointment.

I hope you are able to book your interview soon! I can't even imagine how frustrating that would be.
I had my interview in Montreal back at the end of September. Once you get to book your appointment, it's smooth sailing. Montreal was pretty quick during the appointment day.
