  1. Hello,

I just want to know, should i leave the not applicable questions blank or should i put N/A or none?

It says in the i-864 instructions to leave it as blank if not applicable. However, some filers said we should not leave it blank and put N/A instead to avoid being flagged during the review of the docs y NVC.

    THANKS for the help!

Hi. after you completed your i864, did you submit it already? or you have any additional documents that you submitted?

  2. Hey Everyone,

I picked up the letter from the post office today. USCIS rescheduled my interview for December 4. There was no explanation, just 4 sentences telling me the date and time and a reminder that if I missed the appointment it will be considered an abandonment.

Thats so weird. Did you called USCIS before and maybe the person you talked to somehow accidentally requested for a change of interview date? Did they even give you a reason why they rescheduled?

  3. Hey All,

I have a quick question. I have my interview coming up on Monday. Today I received a notice in my mailbox saying that USPS delivered a package from USCIS. I didn't get the package because I was at work. Any idea what they could be sending me?

FYI: I already received my EAD/AP and my I-30 is still in "Initial Review" online. Also, I absolutely have to sign for the package they sent, which tells me it's some legal document that they want to ensure I receive.

Don't have any idea. This have my curiosity running. Hhhhhmmmmm... Nothing on online case status you say?

  4. Guys, I know this is off-topic but I have a question. I got m SSN through my EAD. Now that I got my status changed and just become a PR, should I change my status at SSA? and will my SSN will change? Sorry but SSA Customer Service Hotline takes a long time before I can actually talk to a live person. Anyone knows what to do after you get your green card? Just making sure I am on the right track. Hehehehe

  5. Our interview took place at the Federal Court in Newark, New Jersey. We were scheduled for a 9AM interview but was called in at 10:30AM. We had our lawyer with us in the room during the interview. We were sworn in to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. His first question was, "what took you so long to file your green card application, you've been married for more than 2 years!? We answered, because it took us a while to get all documents ready and we made sure that my husband's income tax returns were filed correctly for the past 3 years which we thought they required. The IO said we only needed to show 1 year of ITR. And then he read and asked the same questions on the I-485 form. he asked if we have photos ( I brought 2 big albums! lol). He asked if I've met my husband's family, same with my husband, asked me the name of hubby's mom and I just continued on saying all the names of our relatives on the other photos to save him time from asking each of them hahaha. My husband did the same with my side of the family. He didn't even bother to look at our wedding photos!

I think what helped us most is the neatly compiled & labeled copies of documents that I prepared for the IO, such as our financial documents (credit card/bank statements, joint accounts), proofs of address, utility bills, insurance, copies of our lease, even a confirmation letter from USPS that we live in the same address, a lot of letters & cards that we gave each other on our birthdays & anniversaries, letters from friends & family with postal marks addressed to both our names and everything that they could possibly ask for as proof. I also made copies of all the applications and letters I sent & received from USCIS, copies of our passports, driver's licenses, my I-94, both our SS cards, my EA card, even my college diploma lol! I think the IO was overwhelmed! LOL! My lawyer advised us to give as much evidence and proof as we can. Like if they ask for one photo, give them 50! When the IO opened the file folder I made for him, he saw how I labeled each file and I saw him smile. He basically handed back to me one by one, the documents that he didn't need. He said " I don't need this, I don't need this, I don't need that, I don't need this..." I was smiling the whole time and I think the IO found it funny too that I had so much to show him. He didn't even bother to look at the certified copies of our birth certificates that I had my Mom sent overnight from the Philippines via FEDEX! Lol! He closed the file folder and he said, "Ok, your case is approved. You should receive your UNCONDITIONAL 10yr green card in the mail between 2-3 weeks."

I said, smiling from ear to ear, "Really?!?" I was so happy I even hugged my IO! He congratulated us and told me that I could file for my citizenship in 2 years & 9mos. and that I shouldn't wait too long to do it. And we all laughed. We were in and out in 10 mins. max. Whew! I was elated! Walked out to the crowded lobby with a smile on my face and right away thanked God for giving me such an easy & smooth interview...and a real nice IO! He heard my prayers the night before (I couldn't sleep I was so worried).

I hope everybody gets a pleasant worry-free interview. Just do your best in the preparation and don't worry too much! God will do the rest.

Congrats to all those who already got their GCs.

Congratulations!!!! All the waiting is worth it!!! Have a happy weekend to all of us!

  6. Congrats!!!

    What questions did you get?

We had a very cool IO. He only asked how we met and that's it. He said all our documents are complete and he don't seem to think I will do anything bad. Maybe I have him a very good impression at first sight hehehe. It was actually like 5 minutes, definitely not more than 10 minutes. He just explained abt the conditional status and how I can be a citizen. That's what made it longer but overall, it was all good. Maybe I just got lucky and God heard my prayers.

  7. congrats let us know details !! :)

happy for you guys!dancin5hr.gif Celebrate tonight!

Thank you. We will definitely celebrate but not tonight. Hubby needs to wake up tomorrow's for an early shift but it definitely feels good and right. Thank you, Lord!

  9. Good evening all,

Today, Darwin and I had our interview. Our experience is not much to speak of in terms of excitement. We got there at 10:00 and our appointment was at 10:30. We waited until 11:20 until we were called in. The interview was 10 minutes long. I received a text message telling me of a status change at 5:30. His card is in production. She also told us at the interview that the he will receive his card in 2 weeks. We are so very relieved!

Wishing everyone the best of luck!

Congratulations! That's really great news! It gives us hope to those who will b having the interview soon. Mine is on the 7th November. Do pray for the rest of us. And again, congratulations!!!!

  10. I am so happy to see all the positive feedback and outcomes on our application.

Congratulations to those who got their interviews approved and those who got their EAD like me. I am just waiting for my SSN card in the mail now.

Interview is on the 7th November and I am so positive that God will grant me this amazing blessing to be with my husband for the rest of my life.

JuliaMoon... Congratulations! No doubt that's an approved GC. Hope to hear from you again.

To the others, let's just all hang in there. We will get to our goal soon enough.

Hugs to all! I am really happy!
