  1. I got my noa2 on nov. 8th and today I got tired of the uscis customer service telling me same thing I had in my email so I called and asked for a 2nd tier officer or supervisor for help tracking my petition I was put on hold for 102 mins. I opted for the auto call back and received a call and asked for help to track down where exactly my approved petition was. told the rep. it was approved on the 8th nov and it was now 4th dec. and still haven't got any info on it being sent to nvc was put on hold again for about 4 mins he escalated a request for info In my behalf told me I would get a response by dec. 19

... 45 mins after hanging up I received notice that my petition was shipped to nvc today dec 4th

Thats great news Lala! Congratulations !!!! :-) Well for me it still status quo :-(

  2. Wow, that's a blow to stomach! I mean, I'm happy for you that you're finally at NVC, but its discouraging to see people reporting 6+ weeks from CSC to NVC. What could possibly be taking the CSC so long to forward cases to NVC? TSC folks are reporting a week or two from TSC -> NVC.

My case was approved in 59 days on the 18th of October and then I received another notice of approval dated the 22nd of November. Called NVC again today and they dont have it yet. So maybe I am an exception to the speedy transfer of files from TSC- NVC.

  3. Did your last correspondence from USCIS say " On November 22, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing." ? If so, that means the physical package has been sent to NVC. I skipped calling the NVC and called the Dept. Of State (202) 485-7600 to get my case number. You can then go to the CEAC website to see the status of your case.

No, it states that "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate" similar to the one that was approved on the 18th of October.

  4. Hello VJ Members,

I had submitted I-129F petition for my fiancee back in August of 2013 at the TSC and I received the approval notice on the 18th of October, 2013 which was fabulous! However, ever since then, it has been a nightmare!
I have called USCIS multiple times and every time I get a different answer from the Immigration Officer I speak to. Initially, I was told that the petition had been forwarded to NVC and that I should contact NVC for any further details. Two weeks later, NVC had not received it. So, I called USICS again on the 7th of November and the case was expedited.
The text of the expedited request states:
"The status of this service request is:
We have received your service request and researched the status of your application. Our records indicate that your petition was approved. An approval notice was produced and mailed on 10/18/2013 to the address on record at that time. Please allow up to 30 days for delivery of your petition to the Department of States National Visa Center (NVC)"
So, I called again on the 18th of November which is 30 days from the date, the petition was approved (18th October 2013) and I was told that the petition was still in Texas and, that I should give a couple of more days for the file to be sent.
On the 21st of November, I spoke to another Immigration Officer and this time I was shocked with the rude behavior of the Immigration Officer. To add to that, I was told, that I should wait another 30 days before the file would be sent to NVC.
On the 22nd of November, I was re-issued another approval. God knows why!
Called NVC and USCIS yet again today and well they just say that the petition has been approved and its part of some package that will be sent out to NVC soon. I am getting sick and tired of this process. I have contacted the Congressman, the ombudsman, I even emailed the TSC Director today.
Any inputs? Suggestion on what I should do?
Let me know your thoughts please.
  5. Me either..only thing alien registration number changed on Sept 6, this really sucks

Devy and Lynette, if it brings you guys any solace, even though I got the NOA2 on the 18th of October, my file is still languishing in Texas and I just got off the phone with one of the IMO who was rude and he said it could take another 4 weeks. Go figure!

I am really shocked with the way the government works. Wish all these government entities were privatised!

  6. Do any members here from TSC who got their NOA2 approvals on the 18th of October, have their case numbers yet? After multiple calls to USCIS, I was able to get my request expedited, but I was advised by the TIER2 USCIS supervisor to refrain from calling NVC everyday and to let the process work its way through. Just an FYI, for all members on here, who are thinking of calling NVC / DOS everyday/ multiple times a day for case numbers.

  7. Thank you God! Interview approved, flight booked, my baby is coming home...

Thank you all vj'rs for your support. Good luck to all and stay positive, it will come to you all.

    COngratulations Chucky!

Yes it is. HAV stands for the US embassy in the city of the country. Like mine, it is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. So, my case number will be KLL#

Thank you for the clarification N&P

  8. Congratulations..I know you and i were talking and waiting...Ohhh congrats to you, I've still heard nothing...What did you do to them??? LOL

Thank you Devy & Lynette! I have a feeling y'all will get an approval this weekend! I will be praying for you guys. I know the feeling...so just be patient. I called USCIS and requested that I speak with a USCIS officer. First I thanked them for working through the government shutdown and for doing a great job (no pun intended) Then I told them that I could not understand why some petitions with a later submission date were getting approved while my petition had no change in status since 6th of september. I asked them whether my file was assigned to any USCIS officer and if there was anything that was missing that was delaying the approval. The USCIS officer gave the standard answer "Every petition is different and that normal processing time is around 5 months" I told her that I understood all that, but i just couldnt understand what made some petitions so "special" to warrant an early approval. She then asked me for my mailing address and date of birth. I just said " i hope I am not in trouble" and thanked her for her time. Not sure if that helped.

  9. It is said someone receives e-mail notifications, someone doesn't. Our case was shipped on 16th, and my boyfriend called them yesterday - they answered they had never received it yet. My e-mail is still ignored tongue.png

Oh I hope to have my interview in December too, feels like I am in the same boat with your fiancee. I am sure she'll be alright, especially if she knows English; COs in Moscow pay great attention to it ( unless petitioner is fluent in Russian, of course biggrin.png )

Based on your timeline, looks like our case may ship around the 24th of October..I would be very glad if that comes true :) I would not mind waiting another week, as long as, we can schedule the interview in December. I do not think the interview is going to be an issue, Mila is fluent in both russian and english and speaks a lit bit of spanish too. She loves to talk, but I guess, most russian girls i met do ;)

Anyways, I hope Moscow Embassy receives your case soon and you will be able to interview with them sooner! Wish you all the best!

Please do keep me posted on the progress. It will help me estimate our timelines as well!

  10. Well, our case was approved on 10 Oct, and it is said they sent it out from TSC on 16 Oct. I think it is too early to hope they have processed it so soon, but I've already sent them a very polite e-mail ( NVCInquiry@state.gov ) a question about my petition whistling.gif

They usually answer within 2-4 days, and for me (as a beneficiary) it is more comfortable to use this option - it is believed ( but I am not sure about it) that USCIS and NVC give information by phone only to petitioners.

And yes, it is only the halfway, but I have to admit: things are going much faster than I supposed .

Best of luck you too! Kaliningrad is so far from Moscow, I think it is more stressful to have such an important interview not in your hometown (and honestly Moscow is not the most friendly city in the world, haha), but she is lucky you will be there with her good.gif

Hmm, so does it take a week for TSC to forward the petition to NVC? Does one get an email / letter that states that? Our case was approved on the 18th so, we a week behind you. I will give USCIS a week and then start pestering them ;))) We are planning to schedule the interview sometime in December and no, unfortunately, I will not be able to join her for her interview in Moscow...i wish, i could, but i became a US citizen in July and we did not apply for a russian visa. Hopefully everything will go accodring to plan and she will be here around the 10th of January!

  11. Okay, so I forgot to make a copy of the check I sent with my I129F package. I was hoping USCIS would have cashed it but they simply debited it. Can I use the bank statement as proof? Since I have to send an "exact" copy to my fiancee in Laos. Also, does the consulate really look through that file anyways? Since NVC should have already sent a copy to him / her. Thanks in advance!

Dont worry about it. Its not a requirement for USCIS, its just for your records. As long as the cash is en-cashed and all the rest of the documents are in order, I wouldnt sweat it :) GoodLuck!

  12. Thanks for a useful schedule!

It takes around 1 month (normally) to get a police certificate there in Moscow, so I would advice to start with it right after you've received a hardcopy of your NOA-2 (congratulations, btw smile.png )

You are very welcome and thank you :) Well, I talked to my fiancee and we are going to try to get all the documents together soon. It is difficult though, since she cannot take time off from work, hopefully we will find a way to get it done :(

Did you get your case number yet from NVC? Curious to know how long that takes and how long would it take to actually get an interview scheduled in Moscow. My fiancee is from Kaliningrad, so we plan to be in Moscow for a week and get the Medical test and the interview done in the same week.

Its still a long way to go, but I am happy that we got our NOA2 :)

    Goodluck with your journey!

  13. hey guys...

Count on me..August filer under tsc......good luck to us...and God bless us all..i heard that that tsc is not so fast in terms of issuing the NOA2 but so fast upon issuing the case number..thats what i read mostly here....so good luck to all of us guys....just keep updated and in touch....

Not sure about your timeline dave but I would wait at least for 50-60 days after NOA1 (at least that is what seems to be the norm at TSC). In my case I was proactive and I called USCIS on Tuesday this week and requested audience with an USCIS officer and I was very polite with her, but, I did let her know that I was not so happy with the fact that, some of the petitions before me and after me were getting approved while I still languished at the Alien Registration change status.. I am not sure, if that helped but I did get my approval yesterday.

  14. Hi there Congratulations to all of you on your case approval.. I need some help from you all if you can guide me with any information,......

I filed my k1 petition in starting of august with TSC alien registration changed email on august 28th 2013 and while checking my status online 2 days ago it says again your alien registration number changed on Oct. 16th 2013, since than checked my status may be hundred times anxious nervous don't know what's is next and how long to have to wait...

Is this was the same situation with anyone ..

Well if it helps, the alien registration number was assigned to my fiancee on the 6th of September and I got my approval yesterday. However that said there is not pattern to this. I have seen people who have had approvals in less than 10 days after the alien registration number change notification. So, it can happen to you as well.

    Goodluck

  15. so we do not need the ds 160 instead we will submit forms DS 157 DS156 DS 156K DS 230 Part I

Since its past October 7th 2013 and from the look of things you have not submitted a valid, signed, unexpired DS-156, DS-156K and/or DS-230

My answer would be that you will have to fill up the DS-160 application and then schedule and interview. Hope that helps

  16. http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_4401.html

NOTE: For K visa cases in process at a U.S. embassy or consulate, the DS-160 is not required when, prior to October 7th, 2013, one of the following situations exist:

    • The K visa applicant is already scheduled for an interview.
    • The K visa applicant has already been interviewed and has been requested to submit additional documentation or is pending administrative processing.
    • The K visa applicant has already submitted a valid, signed, unexpired DS-156, DS-156K and/or DS-230 or received instructions to do so.
  17. This thread. I hope is helpful for all VJers who have received NOA2 and are wondering what to do next.

    From the website: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

The Next step I presume is:

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

    1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one). 2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy. 3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F). 4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all. 5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form. 6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail. 7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

However, the question is should we wait until we get assigned a case number from NVC or can we send all the documents after we get a hard copy of NOA2?

These are the documents that we plan to start putting together while we wait for the CASE NUMBER to be assigned by NVC:

    Supplied by me:
    ===========
    - I-134 - Some people on the forum have been insisting on I-864 (On the embassy website it states I-134 though)
    - Letter from employer
    - Financial documents (tax transcripts (2 years))
    - Copy of NOA2 (I-797)
    - New intent to marry document
    - Copy of I-129 packet
    - Originals of I-129 supporting evidence
    - Evidence of Relationship - pictures and emails/ call logs past filing of I-129 F petition
    Supplied by her:
    =============
    - Interview confirmation email
    - DS-160 (print the DS-160 confirmation page and bring this page to the interview)
    - New intent to marry document
    - Passport (plus photocopy of photo page)
    - Birth certificate (plus photocopy and English translation)
    - Police certificate and English translation
    - Two 50x50 passport photos
    - Additional Evidence of Relationship
    - Visa fee payment receipt
    - Medical results (appointment the day before the interview in the AM)
This is what I have for now.
Please feel free to make edits.
    On to the next adventure!
