I just got my extension today.  I got it done in St. Louis but my field office is in Chicago. Everything went smoothly, the lady in the counter was very nice, I recommend if you’re in Illinois and you’re close to St. Louis, to just go and get your extension done there. The lady was really surprised Chicago only gave me 6 months extension instead of 1 year, she gave me 1 year extension which is really nice of her. I regretted I didn’t go there the first time, I could have saved myself from taking another day off from work.

I got RFE too. But, I haven’t sent mine yet, we’re still trying to gather more evidence. What CSC return address did you use and did you use the priority/overnight delivery or just regular delivery? Thanks!

But one thing for sure, trying with the system several times ends up showing up an appointment.

For example, I just randomly entered 60601 (Chicago) and a time slot showed up.

 

So, regardless if other offices will take you or not, personally, I would prefer to try to get an appointment at my local field office by trying several times online. Not because that's what one should do, but just because it is more convenient to go to my assigned field office as it is actually the CLOSEST.  It eventually works.

I think  out of desperation people give up and grab whatever is available first (wherever).

For me, waiting patiently and trying the online system over several days a couple of times a day saves me more time than getting in the car and drive for two hours or more.

 

Unfortunately, for me the office in St. Louis or in Indianapolis is actually closer than my assigned  field in Chicago, it’s over 3 hours plus the time you have to look for parking and the mess of a traffic you have to put up with is just too much, it’s not practical to be honest. I desperately need to get my extension done so I can go back to the Philippines and see my grandma, she’s sick and she has been asking for me to go back for over a year now. And my extension letter is expiring next week, so yeah I admit I was desperate and got the schedule for Wednesday at 1:40pm in Indianapolis which is amazing, I don’t have to deal with the stress of watching the uscis website all day, which I don’t have the time to do cause I’m working.

Oh my god, you have no idea how much this means to me, thank you so much. This help so much. I will make an appointment now. 

Is it ok if I go to a different field office even if my field office is in Chicago? I live 3 hrs away from Chicago, and they don’t have available appointment anymore for the next 2 weeks and my extension letter is expiring on the 12th of this month. I would really like to just go to St. Louis or Indiana, those places are 2 hours away from us and they have available dates this week and next week for appointment.

However, your name can be added to the TITLE. That is done at the county records with a Grant Deed from your spouse to you and your spouse.

I was in the same situation and my husband added me to the title. Once added to the title the property tax bill comes with both names.

 

Go to the county office and record the Grant Deed and request a copy at the same time. 

 

Also, make sure to provide USCIS with what they have asked for. The RFE asks for joint bank accounts and house bills. So that's what you have to provide with.

You can send the Amazon credit card proof but you will still have to explain in a letter why you don't have joint bank accounts or house bills.

You will have to write a letter stating why your name is not on home.  

 

They dont want pictures, they want proof of living together and comingling finances.

 My husband’s name is the main name of our amazon credit card account but I have a credit card under the same account, so whenever I order from amazon It’s always under his name. We contacted amazon and they said they’re gonna send us a mail explaining that we both own the account, we have to wait for a week for that. That’s the only credit card we own together. All my bills are under my name, but we have car insurance that’s the only thing that has both our name. And Costco membership. 

My husband says it’s complicated to put my name or change the name of his house because he has to refinance the house (we’re not renting, he own the house).

I’m sorry if I’m bringing negativity here. I just don’t know where else I could share frustrations right now.

In the RFE letter I received, it says I need to include joint bank accounts and house bills in our name, which we don’t have because my husband bought the house long before we meet and same thing with bills except the car payment and car insurance, that’s all we have as joint when it comes to house bills. I’ll just have to research how I’m gonna explain that to immigration. But the good thing is I’m the primary on his life and medical insurance and vice versa that we have from our individual jobs.

I wish the immigration gets better with organizing immigrants papers so that no one has to put the same s**t all over again. It cost a lof of money printing pictures and it’s bad for the environment wasting so much papers! 

Still preparing my RFE package. 😭😭😭 God! This is how I’m gonna have to spend Christmas! I wish I’ve just never heard from them at all! CSC Immigration people are the worst!

I'm really sorry. We're really blind sided huh? It's the worst.

I'm so busy at work and trying my best not to think about my green card I never even check my status up til tonight, I'm just so tired of waiting already. I need to go back and spend time with my grandma in the Philippines she's getting old. I'm just not comfortable spending money to buy plane tickets when I'm not even sure what's going on with my green card status, I don't feel safe travelling to my country without my green card, specially with the kind of president we have.

I feel like am one of few unfortunate people who experience very slow and dragging immigration process since from the very start. We never even had RFE whatsoever at all. This is causing so much stress and negativity in my head. I wish this end already. I wish no one has to go through to this considering we pay so much. Is there a movement or something to change this sh***y system, I will gladly join.

What I couldn't understand is someone I know who live in San Fran filed for AOS last November and got her GC last week. I feel so bad for other's who have been waiting for 10 months and more already.

I got my GC today!

We filed AOS on January 29, 2014

I received EAD and AP early april and the potential Interview Waiver Case letter May 15, 2014.

This morning (December 08,2014) I got an e-mail saying that our Status changed to Card Production on December 06/2014.

I am so excited and relieved.

It took 311 days from filing AOS to Card in Production, and 207 days from the Interview waiver letter.

UPDATE:

Feb AOS filers with PIW letter Jun 5, and today (Dec 8) we received the GC. I truly hope for those still waiting that good news will arrive quickly. Happy holidays to everyone!

FINALLY!!! HALLELUJAH! Got the text message my hubby's card is FINALLY in production. For those of you waiting just hang in there, our process took 11 months from the time of filing! And don't be afraid to put in a service request if you go over the 6 months from your waiver letter.

My husband got his welcome letter yesterday and the greencard was mailed yesterday. We filed in February and got the Interview waiver letter in May. Here's hoping they're working on these, and everyone starts getting approvals!

Green card received 12-9-14! NPIW received 6-5-14. Right at 6 months from notice to receipt of green card. Yay!

Some good news for me.. checked my case status tonight and it says that they ordered my green card today (12th Dec). Does anyone know how long roughly it will take for me to get that? I think it was about a week for the EAD card.

Got an update today while working. I ask my hubby to check my status on USCIS website and he told me the green card is already in our mail box. He check our mail box outside and the package from USCIS was indeed already outside our doorstep. Thank God! Such a nice gift coz today is our anniversary hehe.

It is such a perfect timing. God's perfect time.

I wonder if we might use both of your cases to try and answer a question about expiring medicals please? What date did you have your medicals on? Were they over a year old when you were approved?

Hi, I don't exactly remember the exact date but it was around 3rd weeks of January this year when I have my medicals, but since I arrive here in the USA last October I had to take a flu shot and "surgeon's waiver"? (I have such a poor memory) then the surgeon sealed my medical result in a brown or gold envelop.

So I am not sure what medicals you are referring to. if you are talking about my medicals in the Philippines, it was already expired last Sept 6. I've done mine Sept. 5 to 6, 2013

Last night I got an email from USCIS regarding my AOS:

I haven't receive that kind of email yet. In the Welcome Notice it says I should receive my green card within 3 weeks.

Hello guys! I received the Welcome Notice or Letter from USCIS today! I am just so happy I was screaming! Haha! I felt so inspired I decided to put up our Christmas tree! Such a relief! I hope you guys get your Welcome notice soon as well.

I just don't understand USCIS approving other K1 AOS filers and not just all the k1 AOS cases. What's wrong with them? Why do we have to wait for such a long time? And then I've read some people here who didn't get their GC after 6month mark they called the USCIS and the answer they get is to wait again for another month. Correct? Just W T F! What were they doing from the last 6 months? Why do we have to wait another month? Gessshh!

I am guessing I will also get my green card on January. It'll be 6 months of waiting for my green card on December 5 hopefully if they are kind enough they'll mail it to me as present for Christmas, but who knows? I'm not gonna bet on that though I'll surely lose lol

No one can represent us to talk the USCIS people about our situation? Even just to ask for what's going on with our cases and why it takes a year or more just to get our gc? Such a bunch of lazy asses there I thought this only happens in my country.

I can't wait to get the green card. GOSH! Why does it have to be slow.

I got mine on June, the interview waiver letter was dated june 5th.
