  1. I am trying to get my I-751 packet ready but having difficult time finding bottom tabs with numbers/ alphabets. I called several office supplies stores around us but they all seem to only carry side tabs.

Where did you find your tabs? I need to send my packet soon.

I was thinking to use bottom tabs and big binder clip to assemble my packet. I think that is how my lawyer did it the last time for AOS. I also read the instructions on VJ and that sounds acceptable.

Is there any other way to do it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We just filled out the I-751 and attached the other documents behind it

We only sent Copies Green Cards, 4 Affidavits, Birth Certificates of New Born Children and anything they said that was specifically required.

I'm not sure why everyone gets fancy with all these tabs and everything

    I hope this helps

  2. For IR/CR-1 Visas

    You pay

    to NVC Prior to interview:

a IV Application Fee and an AOS FEE.

If approved after interview from embassy abroad, you will have to pay the USCIS (Ellis Island) $165 FEE to Process your Green Card. This is required prior to entering the USA. Direction will be attached to your Approved Visa Package. Mine was on a yellow sheet of paper.

I didn 't read mine until I was half way across the ocean to New York. I had to purchase inflight internet to make the payment on line

  3. (response to 5 year old thread removed as post split off into its own thread - VJ Moderation)

WHEN SHOULD WE EXPECT DELIVERY OF OUR CR1 & CR2 GREEN CARDS

We received our visa package August 1st.
Booked Flights same day for August 2nd Flights.

During Flight I noticed a yellow letter attached outside of the Sealed Visa Package.
The letter said to go to a (USCIS Ellis) website and pay visa fee prior to arriving to USA. Or you won't receive your GC.

Using the Airline WIFI in mid air, I was able to access the website but couldn't find out how to pay per their directions.

Upon arrival, I tried to pay at JFK, But they said I didn't owe anything.
We received SS cards within a week, but still no GCards.
Only I551 good for a year on Visa. Is it possible that we due owe and need to try the website again?

    Thanks

  4. My wife sold her moms flat in April. Quit her job early July. Sold her flat mid July and flew to Moscow for July 23rd interviews. One for wife CR1 and The other for Moms B2 Tourist Visa. Both were approved, but visa delivery was delayed due to Government Visa Website Problems. We had to Stay in Moscow for Three Weeks. Medical Exams, interview and waiting on Passports/Visas Deliveries. Received Visas August 1st and Flew to USA August 2nd. POE JFK August 2nd.

We took a big risk - Cost us about two extra weeks in Moscow.

  5. Hi everyone,

This morning I received an email from NVC.

I was extremely excited seeing as we started our visa journey just over 10 months ago and I had been advised from our lawyer that everything had been submitted and our next step would be to receive our interview date in London.

You can imagine my disappointment when i continued to read the email from NVC which states that our case is now on HOLD due to missing/incomplete information??

I immediately contacted our Lawyer to express my concern regarding this email and her response is that everything she has submitted is correct and that this is a mistake on behalf of NVC who are apparently sending 'template' response emails to visa applicants. She said several of her other clients have also received this notice and she will contact NVC asap to 'let them know they are in error'

Obviously both myself and my husband have concerns over this and although i am constantly trying to contact the NVC myself to confirm if this is the case Im having a nightmare seeing as the lines are always engaged.

Has anyone else heard about this so called 'mistake' or received this email ??

Any information would be most appreciated.

    Thanks everyone :) xxx

I found out that if the phone rings more than 4 times hang up and redial. I haven't had trouble getting in contact with them. Might take some time, but I always seems to get in contact within an hour.

  6. I got my cace num from NVC thise morning i ask the lady if i can make the first fees, she said i have to wait for instructions from them. Is that going to take forever again please what should i do your input is very appreciated.

Good to hear you got your case number.

When did you receive your NOA2?

When did NVC receive your case?

When did you get your Case number?

    My NOA2 was 19FEB14

NVC Received the Package from USCIS 04MAR14

I've been calling every other day to get my Case Number

NVC kept tellling me it would take up to 20 days for them to enter it into their system.

But when I called them yesterday, they said up to 30 Days.

I didn't think it took this long at NVC. Is this normal or just my bad luck?

I've made two trips to Mexico, One to Vietnam, Three to Russia all to spend time with my wife. This can be very expensive.

I was hoping to be together before our April 6th anniversary. Doesn't look Good at the moment.

Last trip to Russia was a suprise trip for my wifes birthday.

During that trip we became future parents.

Now I'm hoping to be together to enjoy our pregnancy with her.

Also hoping the disagreements between our two countries won't complicate things.

We will be using the Moscow Embassy for interview. Not sure when that will be.

  7. Congratulations! One step forward...

I've noticed that you received your NVC Case Number two days after the NVC received your package from USCIS. My NOA2 was February 19th and NVC received my package on March 4th. I've been in contact with NVC multiple times and they keep telling me it will be 20 Days before they input it into their system to generate a case number. 20 Days? Is this real?

  8. Is this normal?? I filed and received NOA1 May 2013....got a notice Dec 16, 2013 saying case transferred to Nebraska Service Center and noooooo movement/notice since then...nothing!! Should I be concerned at all??

    It's taking about 10 Months

Mine was transfered to Nebraska as well

    NOA1 25 April 2013

    NOA2 19 February 2014

You should get your NOA2 sometime (Next Month) in March

    Good Luck

  9. I had two I-130 (Nebraska Service Center) Petitions approved - Notice Date February 19th

One for My Wife and One for Our Step-Son - Both in Russia

I'm being told that it will take up to eight weeks to arrive at the NVC.

Is this a realistic or conservative estimate?

    Anyone with recent statistics?

I was hoping to be together for our April 4th Anniversary.

Doesn't look promising if it's going to take eight weeks.

Also, My wifes I-797 NOA2 assigned her an Alien Registration No.

But my Step-Son's I-797 NOA2 did not assign him an Alien Registration No.

Should he have one as well?

  10. Hi,

My wife came around 10 days ago with CR1 visa, she already got her SSN and I want to add her to my health insurance plan.

But my employer is telling me that I can't add my wife to my health insurance plan, but I am not sure about that.

Can anyone give me hands up, how exactly this process should work?

    Thank you.

I added my wife after marriage. Even though she can't use it because she is still in Russia.

When She arrives, she will have insurance.

You are suppose to add her when you get married.

Usually Insurance companies will not let you add unless it's a life changing event.

Marriage is a life changing event.

You have a deadline after the Life changing event.

If you didn't do it before the deadline it's too late.

That was my experience. Maybe you can find a loophole.

  11. Hey guys,

I just wanted to start a topic for all people stuck in Nebraska or that have been transferred here to keep up with some of the timelines and months and such since they seem to be all over the place! Hopefully by Nebraska filers joining this group we can try to find some sort of consistency from them - and so we can obsess together wink.png.

If your petition is currently at Nebraska please join us and tell us your story or any other information you have.

Lets hope they hurry up, or at least start showing some consistency.

As for me, my NOA 1 is NOV 15 2013 and it was sent from Nebraska (no transfer).

Today I called a tier two and I KNOW this is NOT right but she (rudely) said that she talked directly to Nebraska and that they claim to be on April 5 2013 right now. (These are the numbers from the site that are AS OF December 31.) She also said that petitions are taking 9 months right now. (%&^#*%#$!!)

She had no answer other than "every case is different' when I mentioned that I know of people from July, even NOV without expedite who have gotten approvals from there (and not just people from Philippines). They don't seem to be going in any kind of order.

I know at USCIS they say all this stuff and probably none of is it actually true, or they find loop holes.

Anyone else have any Nebraska Info?

Good luck to all of us

    NOA1 25APR13

Transfered From NBC to Nebraska mid January

    NOA2 19FEB14

  12. Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had information on how long it usually takes between receiving the first Notice of Action for the I-130 petition for spouse and the 2nd Notice of Action along with application packet. I'm petitioning for a IR-1 Immigration Visa for my wife (Taiwanese) and we received our first NOA on Jan 10. We have yet to receive the second NOA and forms packet so I was wondering what the average time was. Thanks! smile.png

    Best,

    Jonathan

You should receive your NOA2 around the end of the year. Pending any issues and or RFE's

I just received my 2nd notice on 19FEB14. About 10 months after first notice.

    NOA1 25APR13

    NOA2 19FEB14

  13. Ok so I've read several posts that we are able to open a bank account without a ssn. So I went to BOA today and was told by the rep that if I did not have a ssn then I would need a itin# or a valid visa inorder for my husband and I to open a joint bank account. Does anyone have any recommendation for me, I'm not sure what to do or do I just need to go to another bank.

Most Banks will not let you add a spouse without a SS#. I had the same issue.

I was able to put my wife on my Raymond James Brokerage Account.

My Local Representative Called the RJ's Main Office and explained the situation and they added her.

You might have to shop around to find a Bank that will do it for you.

Also, I added my wife and son to company health insurance without SS#

    Hope this helps
