  1. YES YES YES. In my case, I was required to bring i-864, not i-134 for main sponsor. So it was 2 i-864 instead.

Neyla, thank you so much for posting this incredibly detailed breakdown of what to bring and do! My fiance and I got our letter from the NVC last week and according to the online tracker it looks like our petition is already in Caracas. I never got the NOA2 letter so I'm a little behind on document prep, but this list is going to help me so much.

I do have a couple of questions --

    1. You said that you had your co-sponsor fill out the I-864, but I thought they were supposed to use the I-134 just like me (the main sponsor). Is that a special request from Caracas? I'm already so confused about what to include for this part.

    2. Is the tax return also a special request from Caracas? (It doesn't say I need it in the I-134 instructions but I've seen that some consulates require them). I started my job in July and didn't file taxes last year so I guess I would have my co-sponsor send in hers. Then do I need a written explanation of why I didn't file taxes last year?

    3. Did your fiance bring you all the paperwork when he came for the interview? I've been trying to figure out how to mail the packet to my fiance -- it seems like DHL might be the way to go. Does anyone know how long it might take to get there (he lives in Merida)? I'm afraid for him to email the embassy to schedule the interview before I mail the package just because I know that mail is not always reliable.

Thank you again for all your help!

  2. I can sympathize-- he lives in Yaracuy, about 3 or 4 hours from Caracas, so it's definitely not ideal, especially because they won't even tell me if they have the visa there or not.

When you say your friends "schedule" the passport pickup, what exactly do you mean by that? Did they choose a time as well as a location? I have only been able to choose a location, and so far nothing is happening.

    Thanks for the info!

Well, just received a text message saying that my passport was ready to pick up at the Zoom Location I choose :)

  3. I don't know if youlive in or near Caracas, but I think it would be possible to pick up the visa from the embassy... another CR-1 visa recipient on here told me that she made arrangements to do that, because she had a flight soon after the interview.

By the way, the wait time seems to be really long as well. It's been more than 3 weeks since my husband's interview, and as near as I can tell they haven't done anything to send it out. They do sometimes answer my e-mails, but never give me any useful information.

Well, some friends have the B2 visas interview the on Dec. 1 and already got the passports, they schedule the passport pickup with the website tho.

Will he go to the Embassy? No, im in the other side of the Country lol :(

  5. Well, I was approved on November 26, the visa was ISSUED on Dec 1, and is IMPOSSIBLE to select the courier (ZOOM) office to send the passport. Since the embassy schedule the interview via EMAIL is impossible to select the address on USTRAVELDOCS.com.ve. There is no option for k1 in the IV Address section on USTRAVELDOCS website. Anyone from Venezuela facing the same issue? or anyone knows what to do? The embassy dont respond to emails either!!!! HELP! Thanks!

  6. NOA1: April 30th

Transferred: August 8th. No hard copy but my fiancé called the USCIS and hey said we are in California.

Just woke up (it's almost 5:00 am in France) and check my email just because I am used to do it a hundred times since we've been transferred. I received an email at 4:30 am saying we are approved!!!!

Please, don't loose hope. I understand it's frustrating that people with NOA1's dates after yours got approved before (I also had this feeling about May filers being approved the last couple weeks), but your time is coming soon! It's a fact!

I am thinking about all of you and I hope you'll be approved really fast now!

The original K1 May 2014 filers thread starter just got approved! Congrats! hoping to join very soon!!!

  7. First, you went mad because at CSC the approval time was about 1 month at CSC, 7 months at TSC, how can that be possible?

Now your mad because some people with a couple of days ahead are being approval first? damn, the last 3 NOA2 on this thread were from April, calm down you guys.... The whole USCIS make no sense, but it is what it is. I hope everyone get approval, dont care if it is first or last, in front or behind me. :)

  8. Hola amigos.

My name is Kevin and I am a Washingtonian currently preparing my K1 visa petition for my Colombian fiance. Besides the form I-129F and the G-1145 to receive information regarding it's processing, what else do I need to include in the packet?

If there is more could you please list it?

Apologies if this has already been posted but I have been scouring past posts and just can't seem to find the answer I am looking for.

I do not have enough money for a lawyer so I need to get this guy right the first time.

    Thanks again,

    ~Kevin

P.S. Also, is a lawyer absolutely necessary or is it more a piece of mind kind of thing?

    You don't need a lawyer :)

On this site you can finds tons of how to do stuff under GUIDE and looking for an answer in the search box, take a look!

  10. Hi,

Hmm it's confusing. It says Post decision Activity on the headline! But then you just shared that message that confuses me. Though, it says case returned? Maybe, it means they will return it to TSC... Why don't you contact USCIS?

Hi, Katiuska, thank you for the reply, well, now it says

    Initial Review

Again. It change, then an hour later, got a text message that the activity have changed again to Initial Review. Well since it was like 110:30 PM I will contact them tomorrow :)

  11. My notification said I was transferred to my local office... So I assumed that meant Charlotte seing as how I live in NC. But my hard copy said I was transferred to California. So I called the USCIS and the lady told me I needed to schedule an appointment with Charlotte to see if my Petition was there. I asked to be transferred and I spoke with a immigration officer who assured me that it was in California. He told me that it would only speed up the process and I should expect to hear something within a month (: I'm not banking on that but I sure hope he was right!!!

LOL, your petition is at CSC, your local office do not process k-1!!!!
