  1. Oh geeze you are freaking me out!! sad.png I am so worried about my dog! We have short flights SJO-MIA is just 3 hours, and MIA-RDU is about 2. With a layover of 4 hours. I'm so worried something is going to happen. I want to try to give her some sort of very, very mild tranquilizer. Maybe even just an antihistamine. She gets motion sick very easily.

I need to buy her a crate this weekend and get her used to being in it!

    Lucybelle,

I brought our dog over from the Netherlands last December (1 yr old Jack Russell) and it went fine. When you board the plane just ask the crew if they can double check if your dog in on board. They happily do that. I didn't have a lay over but was told that if you have a lay over for more then 3 hours, most airlines will let you dog out to relieve itself. And the airline (Delta) would not allow our dog on board if it had taken any tranquilizer so check the airline.

  2. Folks, we sent our I-130 package last may, to do the embassy process, via Rio in Brazil, but I came to US last month (using my tourist visa) and now we decided to stay here and do the adjustment of status. Somebody know how to proceed with USCIS? I'm expecting NOA2 in the next week or so, since it will be 60 days since the process was transferred to Nebraska on Feb. 18th. So, when I get the approval, what should I do, since my stuff do not need to go the NVC anymore? Do I need to contact USCIS and let them know that I am here now?

Thanks for any help and good luck for all of us waiting for the approval!

PS: we didin't hire any lower for the I-130.

You should really discuss this with an immigration lawyer. Our lawyer strongly advised against this route (readjustment of status once in the US on tourist visa) because even with the readjustment of status the USCIS will inquire with your local consulate whether they have a file on you. And your local consulate may issue a negative advice since you decided to stay in the US on a tourist visa.

  3. OMG we got APPROVED!!!

    Transferred to NSC Dec 11.

    PD May 06.

Thank you Jesus!!!... Good luck to all of you who are still waiting, keep your faith up!

I see that they approved both your I130 as well as your I129. That is great! Congratulations!!

We also filed both an I130 as well as an I129. Our I130 has been approved December 13 and a week later we received a hard copy mail that our I129 has been cancelled because the I130 had now been approved. Which seemed pretty pointless to me because our lawyer says it is still 4 to 5 months from now before the final consulate interview and based on the I129 I at least could have stayed in the US until this time. Very inconsistent that they grant one application and cancel the other...

  4. YEAH I have been approved!

To keep the stats accurate: our case was expedited and it hadn't yet been transferred to a local office. I'm in the Netherlands and my husband and 2 kids are in the US. PD = May 7

    Good luck to you all!

  5. We filed our I-130's on May 22, 2013. My wife's went to the California Service Center (CSC) and my son's was sent to the National Benefits Center (NBC). My wife's was petition (I-130) approved on July 23, 2013. Did a service request to, through a tier 2 officer on July 26, 2013 asking that my son's petition be expedited to bring his in synch with my wife's. Tier 2 officer said to check back on August 10 on status.of the expedite request (which the tier 2 said shouldn't be a problem) so keeping my fingers crossed.

That is really really fast. Was your petition expedited or did you have another reason why it went so fast?

  6. Hi,

I'm new to this forum. My husband and I have been living in Europe for 18 years, of which the last 15 yrs married and we have 2 kids. As we are moving to Boston this fall, we filed the I-130 early May and received the I-797 from Overland Park, KS on May 10. We used a foreign address. Since then it has been silent but yesterday we heard that our file would be transferred to a local field office (and they guessed it would be Vermont) and that the processing time is approx. 12 months.

I read that some of you are hoping that your file would stay with the NBC as the processing times are less. Do you know what influences the file being transferred to a local field office? is there anything we can do here?

Also, if we file a K3 as well, would that eventually be sent to the same field office as well?

    thanks,
