  1. Good Morning fellow ME/NA VJ family. Just wanted to update you on Farid's arrival. His flight out of Casablanca left 2 hours late so arriving in NY he missed his connection. He said POE was great. Everyone was nice and friendly and there were no problems there. Royal Air Maroc set the passenger up, that missed their flights, at a hotel and also they were able to eat at the hotel as well. His next flight left this morning 8:35am NY time to arrive at LAX noon my time. I've got about 4.5 hours before I can see my honey and needless to say I'm super excited.

I'll post back after we get home. Good luck to Najia on your interview tomorrow! We're praying for a smooth interview and a quick visa in hand for you two! Inshallah.

Take care all have a blessed and wonderful Tuesday!

  2. OH My Goodness! I've been up since 3am this morning. Booking the Saturday flight wasn't possible. Really, we tried every route but to no avail. Since Royal Air Maroc is closed on Sunday, he'll be traveling Monday. POE will be JFK and then onto LAX. We are praying for no delays or complications.

So in the meanwhile I'll be tidying up the home on Saturday. Sunday I'll drive out to Cali and spend the night at my parents. Monday I'll check on our residence..we're going to stay in a quiet little place in Laguna Beach. Hopefully these next 3 days just fly by! I'll get a good nights rest and be rearing to go by morning!

WOOO HOOOOOOOO my baby's comming home!

Anybody know of a place to buy Halal meat in the Orange County , California area?

I'm looking to purchase a bunch and bring it back to Arizona on dry ice.

  3. Thanks everyone so much for your warm wishes! Farid and I have intentions of meeting in 2 days..Saturday October 14th. I was unable to purchase the tickets over the phone this evening, so he'll go straight to Royal Air Maroc tomorrow 10am his time and hopefully we'll be able to get a ticket for the Saturday flight. Inshallah we can be together by Saturday night. OMG it's almost over! This torture of living apart is soon to be a distant memory. I'm sooo grateful for all of you and the help and the support. I'll be sure to post back when we have a departure ticket in hand!

  4. Visa Update.

Yesterday I contacted DOS and they informed me our visa has been ready since October 3rd. No one from the consulate has called us. In addition NO response to our 9 emails since last Thursday. I woke up this morning at 4am. Farid was already on the train traveling to Casa (for the 3rd time this week). I contacted the consulate by phone this morning and was told yet again to email and they will respond right away...still haven't recieved that email...BUT Farid did get a call on his celly and they asked him to come to pick up the visa. Also they apologized for their mistake. He waited about 2 hours and just called me to inform me...we now have

  Visa in Hand!!!:dance:

Can't wait to see my honey! Super excited to book his flight!

  5. awwwwwwwww libragodess... I'm sorry it's been sitting there collecting dust! Call Casa tomorrow and be persistent - get someone on it asap! Good luck and hope Farid is called soon for the visa!

Thanks so much Noura! Farid is traveling to Casa tomorrow for the 3rd time this week. Inshallah the consulate will give him the visa. I'll be up bright eyed and bushy tailed calling and calling and calling!

  6. Congratulations on your Successful Interview!!!:dance::dance:

Just in case you need the phone number for DOS it's (202) 663-1225 press 1,0,4,3,0.

I wish I had been a little more Pro-ACTIVE last week! Our interview was September 22nd..we've been waiting for our phone call for 20 days now ( were told one week to two weeks by the consulor. ) I called DOS this morning and found out that security checks were completed and visa was printed October 3rd!

Why is it October 11th. and still no phone call from Casa??? We've emailed them about 9 times since last Thursday...No response! I'm obviously really freakin frustrated!

Moral of the story  Calling DOS is a really good idea!

  7. Does anyone know what you send back with the DS-230 apart from that and any addendum? I read recently on here that you also send a photocopy of the data page of your passport. And in the Choice of Agent package it refers to the DS-230 'and other documents'.

I am seeing my husband on Saturday (we are meeting in Bermuda for a week's holiday) so it would be great to know if there's extra stuff because I can take it to him. We are expecting the DS-230 any day and it would save me having to Fedex and lose a few days.

Our K3 was forwarded to London 3rd October and we want the green card to catch up because that's the one we want (like everyone does!)

    Thanks for your help! B)

DS-230 Application Part I signed/dated: PartII Left unsigned

    Birth Certificate

    Police Check

Photocopy of Data Page Of Passport

    Original Marriage Certificate

Original Divorce Documents (If he's ever been divorced before)

The Police Check and the Birth Certificate each have some details, as to what makes them acceptable. I believe he has to provide a police check for every place he's lived for over 6 months, since the age of 16. The Birth Certificate has to have the parents names on it, or something to that fact. There are some acceptable alternatives should a birth certificate not be available. I'm not exactly sure by memory what they are but it's clearly detailed in the instructions of the DS-230.

Good Luck! I hope this helps with your journey.

  8. Ok, I have a Casa question that I'm sure has been answered but I'm always horrible using the search features.

I just got approved, and I want to know how I can know when it has been received in Casa. Do I have to call or email them? And which number/email address would you recommend for that?

Also, when should I expect it to be received. I did a search on the timelines, and it seems to vary. It seemed like on most, it was anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month.

    Thanks for the help guys!

I'm not sure how to "know" your packet arrived in Casa. I really wasn't too concerned with following ours from NVC to CASA. But I have read posts by others that checked the DHL tracking system online. Basically it seems you're following some general shipment..you don't really know for sure if your file is inside this package..something along those lines.

At this point , Casa will recieve your packet ..issue his packet3 with interview date.

If you're feeling like you need to email them, the address is nivcasablanca@state.gov ( the niv stands for non-immigrant visa ). Use your Case# in the subject line for easy identification. Try this link for more information:

    http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...;cty=Casablanca

We recieved our Packet 3 , 17 days after it left NVC. But a good friend of ours is going on his 3rd week waiting for his packet 3. So really it does vary.

When I'm feeling like "there must be something wrong..this is taking too long" I just try to remind myself of the many many posts where people say "just when you feel like nothings moving, something HAPPENS. Keep the faith. " LOL

We're on day 12 after our interview still waiting for our phone call from the consulate....so I'm feeling that "feeling" again , but Inshallah tomorrow is our day and the call will come through.

I hope that helps a bit. Good luck on your continued Journey!

  9. What seems to be the average wait between interview and visa in hand for Casa? Has anyone ever gotten visa in hand on the same day as the interview?

I did see someone on the timelines that interviewed and got thier visa the next day. I think that was back in June of this year. Farid and I are on day 12 and still no Visa in hand...but I'm very sure tomorrow is the day!!!!

  10. Hello to all,

We have been waiting for over 4 months now for our K3 to be approved. :crying: Does anyone know if there is a different process and/or a longer wait time for men coming from arab countries?

It’s been 7 months since my husband & I have seen each other. This whole process has all be so frustrating & emotional. :crying: Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Kind Regards,

    Debby & Ahmed

My husband and I are just in the final stages of our K3. We are currently on administrative review and awaiting a call from the Consulate to let us know his visa is ready for pick up. AR is common for arab countires. It's been about 9 months since we started the process. If you check "Immigration Timelines" http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/ this may help you get a better idea of what the current wait times are. You can also look specifically at timelines for people going through Algeria. Hope that helps.

I know the waiting is sooo very difficult. Stay strong, and patient, and believe that God has layed the path before you two.
