  1. I am going back to school this fall and neither did I need a TOEFL test, nor did I have to take a SAT/ACT test. The only thing I will still have to complete is a placement test so that they know which level my English and Math skills are. Just contact the Student Service Center at the school your wife wants to attend. They will guide you through the process and will tell you which steps you have to complete.

Liebe Gruesse :)

  3. I contacted USCIS and we filed a service request since my case seems to be out of normal processing time. I just got an e-mail yesterday saying this:

The status of this service request is: On May 01, 2014, you contacted USCIS concerning Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Form I-485 was very recently received at our office and is presently pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your application. We hope this information is helpful to you.

It's been over 7 months now that I applied and this is getting really frustrating here. Especially knowing that people who applied after me are approved already at the same service center. I'm just trying to keep myself busy to not think about it!

  4. My status finally updated today to Card Production! Hooray! :D Great way to start my birth month! <3

Just for everyone's info. (Might help those who have the same Field Office)

USCIS Processing Time Information for the

    Saint Paul MN Field Office

    Posted: May 1, 2014

Field Office Processing Dates for Saint Paul MN as of: March 31, 2014

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status - October 12, 2013

    N-400 Application for Naturalization - October 15, 2013

N-600 Application for Certification of Citizenship - 5 Months

Finally!!! Congratulations :) I still haven't heard anything and the processing times for my field office say October 7 as of March 31st now. I filed October 4th, so I will call them right now.....

  5. UGH. Anytime soon. HOPEFULLY. What's the hold up, St. Paul MN?! >_<

    uscis-stpaulmn_zpsacdc94ce.png

Because the interview waivers are actually a result of slow processing and pile up of cases? It seems that they're still sorting out through tons of applications. AND CONGRATS on the approval! We hope we'll hear (approval) news soon too. Would really hate to drive to Bloomington MN for an interview. Ugh. That means both my husband and I would have to miss at least 2 days of work.

    Good luck! :)

    Congratulations! See ya! :)

Yikes. That's a pain in the a**. Good luck. At least there's movement for you! Can't wait to get this over and done with too! :|

    Good luck!

I hear ya Mrs. Presson! No news for us either yet. I'm getting really impatient. As of February 28th, they were processing September 6th cases at my local office. Let's hope we'll all get approved soon!

  7. Any updates everyone? We sent my AOS application last October 5, 2013 and received an Potential interview waiver letter last Jan 20, 2014. Still waiting.. Fingers crossed

No update for me.. I also got the Potential Interview Waiver Letter in January but I haven't heard anything since then.

Well..I guess this is not completely true. There was an ''update'' on February 11: My birth date was changed. (Right after we sent in the AOS application, we noticed that my birth year said 2013. So we called and they told us to write a letter, explain the mistake and tell them what needs to be changed. So after 4 months, the birth date was finally updated. biggrin.png) I thought this is a good sign and that they are working on the case now. We will see though. This is over 3 weeks ago now and I have heard nothing since then.

  8. Hallo !

Mach dir keine Sorgen, ab jetzt geht alles total schnell!

  9. Two updates today!

    1) Got my AP in the mail yesterday. Awesomeness smile.png Biometrics photo isn't too awful hahaha.

    2) Case status updated to Testing and Interview! YAYYY! Does that mean no chance of waiver, then? Did anyone who got a waiver have their case status updated to this?

Congrats to everyone else whose cases have progressed since I last posted! That's super exciting about interviews being approved on the spot and waivers being fast-tracked to green card processing! smile.png

    That's awesome! Congrats! :)

I got a Potential Interview Waiver Case letter and my status is still in Initial Review. I think everyone I heard about so far never made it to the Testing and Interview update either.

  10. Well, crossing my toes were effective. Haha, I just checked my mail and there it was, a Notice of Potential Interview Waiver (as expected). Well, there's my case "update". LOL

The only WEIRD thing about it was, it was sent to our old apartment's address, when I already received other correspondences AND my EAD card here in our new address. Good thing we have our mails forwarded to this new address. :\

    NICE! Congrats! smile.png

It was the same thing for me.. even though we changed the address and I already got my EAD sent to my new address, they sent the Interview Waiver Case letter to the old address. Weird.

  12. My status update is still stuck in RFE Response Review. No work permission yet either... So the RFE did slow the process down a lot.

I just called a representative since I also had to change my adress. She said I should expect a response after 60 days of sending the RFE in. Next Monday (Jan. 6) it would be exactly 60 days but the Change of Adress Tool says I should expect a response for changing the adress by Jan. 11. So I really really hope it won't take too long anymore... I need to work, slowly running out of money. lol

Congrats to everyone who got good news! Please everyone cross your fingers for us too. :)

  13. does anyone know what kinda insurance for the new green card holders? if i have not find a job yet, where i can get it? ..i heard under the new law, you have to buy insurance.(my spouse can not add me to his plan)

I was able to find my insurance through www.ehealthinsurance.com. They have lots of different plans to choose from. I was approved for the first health insurance I applied at and everything worked out just fine.

  14. Hi everyone. I'm back. I'm glad everyone is starting to get updates about their combo card. I was starting to lose hope because mine is still stuck. Until this morning, I check my I-485 and got this message:

On December 4, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

I guess I will be receiving my green card first before my Combo card! I'm soo thankful!!! Good luck to us!!

Wow, that's great! :) Congratulations! I am still waiting for an update... I-485 is still in RFE response review and everything else in initial review. I guess the RFE dragged us a little behind. Oh well...I hope it won't take too long anymore for EAD.

  15. I got the same letter. I thought the W2 would be evidence enough since my husband didn't have a copy of his tax returns. Now we ordered the tax transcripts from the IRS website. It's really easy to do since you can just order it online. (http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Order-a-Transcript). Then the second part: Just go to your employer and ask them to write you a letter and gather pay stubs to prove income. My husband for example didn't have access to his last pay stubs anymore since he switched jobs, so we contacted HR of his last employer and asked them to send us his pay stubs of the past few months. If the income does not exceed the 125%, you might want to think about having a co-sponsor.

  16. I am about to go insane. Our RFE is for my certified translation of my birth certificate, which I had sent to them but apparently it got lost somewhere. I am so so upset since this is about work authorization and i really need to work so badly so we can get a place of our own. Now I need to find a translator pay god knows how much for it and send it off. Apparently the wait time resets to 3 months from when they get the RFE response.

    Gonna go cry now.

Do you not have the original translation anymore? There wasn't an original needed. But if you need a new translation, try USCTS. (http://www.uscts.com/) That's where I got my translation from and it was only $40.
