  1. Hi, I just found out the interview date for my fiance is in September 2013. First and foremost, I am not too happy with the K1 fiance visa information available on the consulate website. It is soo confusing and had to call so many times. When you talk to the VFS agents, the process gets further complicated. My attorney told me to mail the documents without appointment letter.

I wished the Consulate Office could update it with correct step by step process and keep the information relevant. I was told that you need to wait for the appointment letter, and that you don't need to mail any documents. Just come for the interview, ofcourse with all the documentation and the medical done 1 week before the interview.

    Is this information correct?

    Thanks!!!!

  2. Hi, our K1 fiance visa file is received at Mumbai Consulate. However, my attorney informed us to send Packet 3 without appointment letter, whereas the VFS is informed us to wait for the appointment letter. Now, I am not sure whom to listen to.

    A couple of questions.

Do you know what address to send to?

What does the Mumbai Consulate, Fiance visa appointment letter contain?

What forms are needed to be sent first. Is Birth Certificate - original also needed at Packet 3 stage? Also, is PCC needed at Packet 3 stage?

When we call Mumbai Consulate, those guys are so confusing. I wish they could take the time to simpilify the process and explain in detail on their website, instead of confusing us further. We have already spent way too much time on this process (almost a year). If we can't bring a loved one quickly, despite being a US citizen, it's terrible to suffer silently.

Once this is all completed, I am ( and we should all ) going to complain about the process of mailing time from one department to another. It's like a fun merry-go-round process from VSC, to Texas, to NVC to Embassy and then still have to wait for months at the Mumbai consulate.
