  1. Good day! On Friday, i have checked my status and it showed " card / document production" and on saturday i have checked again it this is the update " On September 19, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283." That this mean I got approved? It is still on the Decision part, however it did mention sending me a card.. Hmmm.. Your thoughts please.. Thank you.

  3. Hk031812 how long have you get your visa from the day of your approved interview?hope you would also share for us...thank you...and congrats.....

Hi there! sorry for the late reply. I was interviewed on Oct 4, I didn't get direct approval as I was given form 221(g) " need petitioner's certified court divorce paperwork". On Oct 7, I sent the required document. Oct 10, I was advised to send my passport to US embassy, OCt 11 CO received my passport. Due to long weekend ( Columbus day and Hari Raya holiday), my visa was issued on Oct 18 only. In short, 14 days from my interview date. I got my passport and sealed envelop this morning. :)

Good luck and thank you! :)

  4. Hi there! I just had my interview last Oct 4 here in Singapore and CO asked for the court certified with a stamp divorce paperwork. I was given form 221(g) because of that. I have submitted the next working day. Fedex will take 2 days maximum. I agree, it depends on the CO I guess.. but it is better to be ready just incase. Goodluck! :)

To note.. I have the copy during the interview.. but CO didn't accept.

  5. Thank you for the clarification. I'm glad I'm finding out about this now, rather than later. So, what happens to your visa application now? Do you courier the certified copy to the Consulate? Did they say they would process your visa right after receiving the missing docs? We have already booked my flight out for the 9th of November so I wouldn't want to find myself in any delayed situation either.

CO said i would need to send it via Aramex courier. He asked me to register right away after he has taken finger printing. I would guess so, because he said it will be quick. I just hope indirectly he is telling me my visa approved.

You still have ample time to accomplish the certified true copy. Best of luck to you and your fiance.

  6. I'm still confused. So is my photocopy of the stamped copy of his divorce decree counted as a certified true copy? According to the instructions sent by the consulate, it seems that the marriage certificates and divorce decrees they are asking for, are the beneficiary's, not the petitioner's.

My fiancé is currently with me in Singapore until October 31st, and my interview is scheduled for the 23rd. I have no idea how to get around this 'true certified copy' requirement, and I'm really worried.

I was not aware that CO will ask for a Court Certified Stamped with Official Seal from the Courthouse and Clerk's Initials. THe copy that I have is as well a copy of a stamped docs.. still they would ask for the certified one. I am not sure if it will make a difference having your fiance with you on time of interview, i hope they will accept what you have.

  7. I have yet to attend my interview with the US Consulate in Singapore, and am rather surprised by this reason for a 221(g). I only have a copy of my fiancé's divorce decree with me right now. Would that suffice? To the OP, did you provide them with a copy at the interview?

to note.. yes i did provide them a copy ( not certified ) however as per the CO, they need certified true copy with a stamp. If you do not have, you can ask your Fiance to accomplish one. He/SHe can get it same day, it will take maybe 30mins to get it done and send it via fedex right away. ( express mail will take 2 days )

Hi Hobbit. It is written in from 221(g) - " Need petitioner's court certified divorce paperwork ". THis is the exact wordings from the CO. What I have was the copy of my Fiance divorce decree but not certified. My fiance got the certified true copy with the stamp from the courthouse yesterday, on its way to SG.

You can check yours maybe you got the certified one. All the best.

  9. Oh, so the petition included a copy of the divorce decree and the consulate wants to see the original? Originals of all documents submitted should be taken to interviews, as they can ask to see the original at any time. The copy was all that was required with the I-129F, so that is why no RFE.

Yes, it was included. I got it, that is why we didn't have RFE. In my case, is it feasible to get approval? i hope so.. m still worried. thank you.

  10. THank you for all your inputs.. just a bit worried.. I agree with you Tim/Mav.. we don't have any RFE.. same copy was sent to USCIS n the original I-129f packet. If we knew we need the certified true copy I should have asked my fiance in advance to accomplish. CO said it will be quick once i submitted the required docs..I just hope that my visa will get approved once the docs are submitted. Thank you again.
