There are specific evidence for self-employed. Do a search on the site here for it. http://www.visajourney.com/search/index.php?cx=007424365766759747816%3Auy9flr-th5y&cof=FORID%3A10&q=I-864+self+employed+evidence&sa=Search&siteurl=www.visajourney.com%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dforums%26module%3Dpost%26section%3Dpost%26do%3Dreply_post%26f%3D128%26t%3D508417%26qpid%3D7164934&ref=www.visajourney.com%2Fforums%2Ftopic%2F508417-rfe-i-485-aos-for-k1%2F&ss=1002j149332j9
thanks,
i did the search, most ppl say to include schedule C. I checked what i sent, i actually had schedule C included with it. I am gonna try calling them and ask them why income was not enough.

Thank aleful & sweetswinks for your feedback.
I see, I don't think I sent anything of his other than his tax return. I can ask him for his W2s and stuff. Shouldn't the first and second bullet be the same if they were missing supporting docs for both. Why would they say missing supporting doc for one and not enough income for second?
Also, he owns a few different businesses (I only put down what he claimed he made on his taxes not on businesses), I can get his W2s but I can't get his letter of employment because that would be from himself.
If I call USCIS, would they be able to help me? in past whenever I have called, they just read whatever I can find on their website. I am really nervous as the letter says if I don't provide what they need, they will deny the application.

in RFE, they are asking for two different things.
1. I only submitted my tax return so they are asking for all supporting Tax docs (W2, 1099s etc) : No problem I can provide that.
2. My income is not enough so I had joint sponsor. Joint sponsor's income is 218,000 for the family of five and they are saying that his income did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline. Does anyone know what is going on?
see attach pic showing what they are asking.

Alhumdulilah my fiancee got her visa approved and it has also been issued.
I would like to thank everyone here who helped us through the process. This forum was definitely a big help. Those interview questions were very helpful and all other advices. I am sure I will using all the guidelines here for all the future steps until she becomes citizen.
If you are still waiting for your NOA1, NOA2, interview, approval or Visa, just hang in there I am sure it is on its way.

I know how you feel. I was also nervous last week when my fiancee had her interview.
You will be fine.

My fiance I129F has been approved (I live in the US and he lives in Italy) and i know that i might have to submit an Affidavit of Support Now i saw the poverty guideline 125%
2------$19,387
3------$24,412
4------$29,437
I leave with my mom and my sister
Do i need to count them in my household, even though i do everything by myself and pay my own bills?
I don't have any kids and I'm not responsible for anyone but my fiance when he gets here.
Counting that i have to add my fiance plus me ( total of 2 people) I would meet the minimum but if i have to add my mom and sister i will not even come close to reaching the 125% poverty guideline
What would i need to do to not to put them on the Affidavit?
If this make a difference last year my mom claimed me on her income tax. For my benefit would it be better to claim independent this year?. I don't know if this would help my case.
FYI i called USCIS and they told me that they can't give their opinion or tell me what to put on the paper.
You will have to submit affidavit when goes to the embassy so right now you have time. Make sure you file independent for this year. You are lucky we just entered 2014. Also, you will only need 100% for I-134. Once he comes here then you will need 125% on I-864.

Hello everyone!
I will try not to repeat what everyone has said here already. First, please review what Naina has posted here:
One note to add, please have exact change. My fiancee was first/second one to be interviewed and they asked for exact change. Luckily, her father had thought of that before hand and had given her exact change and some extra cash incase (she had all kinds of bills i.e. 10s 20s, 50s etc). Entire interview took an hour only.
here is my embassy review. Feel free to ask any question or anything i didn't cover.
Alhumdulilah!! The process was very smooth.
Submitted the packet 3.5 on Oct 25 (Friday) and it was received on the 28th (Monday). Packet 4 took a while, came on Dec 09. Interview date was Dec 27.
Here is how the interview day went:
My fiancee had her appointment time 7:30 a.m. so she was the first to be interviewed. I told her to get there earlier as everyone else here suggested. She left her hotel around 6 got outside the embassy around 6:45ish. she was directed to Immigration line. She was the second one there. A family with elderly person came so she let them cut the line. She enter the embassy around 7:30. Gave her passport to the counter and cash. Her dad gave her exact change and some extra money so she doesn't have to wait for change.
After that she was called for interview and standard questions and one interesting question.
How you met?
Is it arranged or Love marriage
Wouldn't it be difficult for you live in USA? your whole life is here
What does your fiance do for living?
Any pictures together? After seeing the pictures, CO was satisfied
one last question:
What is his favorite dish..... she replied without a blink Biryani and both of them start laughing
Congratulations!! Welcome USA!!!
She was out by 8:30 am. Yup only took an hour. -
We are actually in Peshawar , and the Peshawar speedex arnt even picking up the phone
Just go to them in person.

ok and what about Police Certificate ? does it need from Pakistan ?
Some people saying is not required and some saying its required .
If required then what is the procedure to get it ?
Do you have any information about that @@@
when we sent our package 3.5/DS160 we didn't have Police certificate ready so we just sent rest of the documents without police cert since it is "optional". my fiance just took it with her to the interview but CO didn't ask for it. They say it is optional but you never know, they might ask for it.

MashaAllah!
Mubarak!
Just tell your husband to go to American Express next time they are open. In Karachi, they are very friendly and work with you.

For dubai connect, on th website it says there must be atleast 8 hour layover, and the flight will mention it. Call Emirates for more information about the specific flight.
Yea I saw that. but the flight I was trying to book doesn't say it. I looked up online and found out that it didn't say it for many ppl but they end up getting it. I am still not final whether I will take emirates or some other flight. Once I am final then I will call Emirates or just take my chances.
-
Where are you departing from and where do you want to arrive? I always take Emirates from KHI to IAD. I have a 2 1/2 hour stayover in dubai and get here by 8am, or a little later.
Yes I am taking it from KHI to IAD. I see a few options including 2.5 hrs and 11 hrs. I was wondering if I were to take the flight that leaves earlier from KHI, would I be eligible for Dubai connect? The requirement for Dubai connect is that you take first available flight out. If you leave from KHI earlier, you are still taking first available flight out.

sent mine on Oct 25, received on 28, Got packet 4 on Dec 7 ish. took about 7 weeks Interview date was Dec 27
-
Embassy in ISL is getting better with emails now so just email them. Inshallah, soon you will get your visa
-
Anyone has any experience with that?
My stay will be over 9 hrs and there is no earlier flight to US but online booking is not showing Dubai connect as part of the itinerary. There is a later flight from the origin (Karachi) where I will be leaving from but the flight that goes from Dubai To IAD (washington DC) is only one. I can choose any of the later flight and departure late from the origin but I would like to know if I take an earlier flight and have a longer stay, would I get Dubai connect.
HELP NEEDED REGARDING NIKAH NAMA (URDU TO ENGLISH )
in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Posted
just for clarification purposes
This is newer requiremen. in past, they would take nikkah nama that was English on one side and urdu on another "marriage certificate" but now they want certified copy. Certified doesn't have to be from lawyer or court. just a statement from a person translating that the person knows both language (Urdu + English) and has certified it correctly and then sign it. You can notarize it before signing. Doesn't have to be in Pakistan, you can do it here in USA as well. But Pakistan is better as you need to show original when you go to the embassy for interview.
