  1. I don't think it's true. If you send an expedite request to NVC, it is actually approved by the consulate and then NVC stage is skipped, and you bring all the documents to the embassy for interview.

If USCIS expedite case it goes to NVC and again need to ask for expedite. If NVC Expedite - sends you a email that your file goes to embassy and there will need to collect documents and pay the fee.

    Our letter from NVC:

    Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: VIL20138**** filed by ******* on behalf of ********.

Your request for the expeditious processing of this immigrant visa petition is currently under review. You will be informed of the results when the review is completed.

To complete your request for expeditious processing, we need two foreign phone numbers for the applicant.

Please email the numbers to NVCExpedite@state.gov. We will update the case once we receive your email.

    IMPORTANT:

Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

    Case Number:

    Petitioner's Name:

    Principal Applicant's Name:

    Preference Category: IR2

    Your Priority Date: 10May2013

    Foreign State Chargeability: LITHUANIA

  2. It is financial loss, extreme financial loss.. I just think we should have heard something by now. It's a catch 52, our son is due in December, and we are living in Sweden and in Sweden one of The parents has to stay at home with the child for the first 12 months and we already have a one year old since before, so I can't work to support us and my husbands visa here expires in February and can't support us staying here and he can't afford to pay for two lifestyle on his American salary.. So me and the kids risks getting homeless if we don't expedited and can move with him.. Due to the crises in Syria the backlog at Swedish immigration is so long that staying here is not an option for him..

Our situation was exactly the same as yours. We asked the USCIS expedite ans ask help of Congressman on September 17, 2013 exactly one month October 16th 2013 we got approved. Then We sent an request of Expedite NVC. NVC received our case on November 2, 2013 and November 8, 2013 our case was already at the embassy. Tomorrow, November 19th, my two years old son has an interview in Vilnius (Lithuania).

P.S We have sent an I-130 case to USCIS May 10, 2013

  4. I'm so tired to waiting. I waited for more than 8 months until approved our 130 form. Now again for 20 days waiting of our NVC case. We have waited 20 days until the approved form and made a mistake again and again 20 bisness days before it is re-examined :(

sorry for my bad english :(
  5. I'm surprised you were in Vermont and that you weren't transferred given your timeframe. Most with your timeframe were transferred to NBC or were there originally! Interesting! smile.png

New petitions aren't sent to VSC or CSC anymore but to NBC.

    ok, my story:

    Explains my husband:

"As a green card holder I sent for my immediate two family members the I-130 form on April 3rd, 2012. A permanent resident can file one I-130 for the two members inclusively for a spouse and a child.
Few months later I became American citizen on September 6th, 2012. Then I called the USCIS to upgrade my case status where USCIS agent suggested filing a I-129f for my spouse and my child for K3-K4 visa. On April 10th, 2013 USCIS approved my two forms I-130 and I-129f. NVC had closed the form I-129f simply to proceed on I-130 on which my child was ineligible to continue with a single I-130.
NVC agent suggested sending a Form I-130 for a child. My child's form was sent on May 10th, 2013.
I requested USCIS to expedite my child's I-130 form. I was advised to write a request in the mail, include the certificate of citizenship, the NOA1 receipt letter. I was assured that this will be enough to expedite. I have been waiting for two months for the USCIS to respond but no news though they promised to send a message or agent will call to me. NVC assured that American Embassy can help me in Lithuania during the interview. At this moment we have to cases one in NVC (my spouse) and one in NBC (my child)".

Is there anyone who is familiar with the similar situation for the interview in an embassy when the child's form has not been approved yet? Is it possible for a two year old child to get an immigrant visa at the embassy?

Does this apply to my case on LAST MINUTE CHANGES in the link below?
