  1. Praise God, my fiancee received her and daughters CFO stickers this afternoon after a long day and are ready to fly to the US Wednesday morning!

Here's a quick summary of her day:

    • Arrived at 4:30am Monday morning. She was very nervous at first because she was # 19 in line already then but then she realized not everyone was there for fiancee and she was below the 15 (not sure how many)
    • We were both very surprised the only documents they asked her for besides the counseling form and registration form were a valid photo ID and their visa photocopy, that's all......
    • She had pretty much anything and everything to be safe but wasn't asked for any of it....PLEASE, I'm not advising anyone not bring all documents others have previously suggested as I think we just got really lucky.
    • Got both stickers attached and she was on the way home at 3pm

The only odd thing the interviewer told her was to get an affidavit of consent from her 4 year old daughters father by attorney/official to be used at the airport. Her daughter was born out of marriage (never married, illegitimate), been raised by fiancee all her life but has the fathers last name. I have researched this extensively and always found that the mother, my fiancee, has all legal rights and does not need consent. If anyone has any experience or been told this at CFO please let me know, the last thing I want is them to show up at the airport early Wed. and not be allowed to fly.

Thank you all for the support!!!

Hi! Thanks for sharing this information. I am going to do my CFO on Thursday and I only got one shot to finish everything since I have already booked my ticket flying back to my hometown the day after. There's no more available flights since it's peak season.

I just have some questions and I want to make sure I got everything prepared. Where did you get the counseling and registration forms. Are those downloadable on the CFO website? Are NBI Clearance and PhilHealth ID's accepted?

    Thanks:)

  2. So yesterday we received our packet 3 from USEM Jakarta through email. Packet 3 contains 14 attachments. 1 of the attachments is our approved I-129 form. On the upper right part of the I-129f is a remarks box stating "F1 visa denied 2012". On the second page of it is a post it note saying "2 F1 refusals in 2012". I didn't expect to see those on packet 3. Has any of you experienced this? Should I be worried? I've been told a lot about how previous F1 refusals don't affect K1. But upon seeing what's on packet 3 makes me nervous. Is this normal? I need advice or in sight guys. Thanks:)

  3. Hi sis, I'm sure you have seen this: http://jakarta.usembassy.gov/visa/fiance_k1_visa.html

Re-check, Item #7: Police certificate IS REQUIRED. If you stayed more than 1 year in Philippines (that is, born and raised), you will need an NBI clearance. Just not sure though, if it's equivalent to and the same as the police certificate, technically speaking (Most likely it is). Maybe best to check both with US and Philippine embassies in Jakarta.

    Thanks for this:)

  4. To make the long story short our file was sent to USEM Jakarta instead of USEM Manila. I am currently working here in Indonesia and planned to go back to the Phil next month for the medical and interview.

However, NVC assigned us a Jakarta case number and our file is on its way here. We've decided to just do the process here. My problem now is my NBI clearance. I can request it with the assistance of Phil Embassy in Jakarta but it will cost us a lot of money.

We are awaiting our packet 3 so we can proceed with the medical and interview. I want to start requesting for my NBI ASAP while waiting for packet 3. Yet some members here said police clearances are not required in USEM Jakarta.

How correct is this? If this is true then I don't have to waste money.

Can anyone done with the process in Jakarta tell me if this is true. Help guys!!! Thanks:)

  5. Our packet was received by NVC 04 NOV.

When I called and obtained our Consular tracking number to my surprise I was given an KWT (Kuwait) ID.

Now true when we filed my fiancee was working in Kuwait but ITEM 20 on page 2 of the I-129

specifically stated we would process in MANILA -- its there I verified about 100 times already

Now the packet's status on CEAC is "IN TRANSIT":

Even if you knew this could happen there is no way to stop government morons who cant read the most

critical item in the application ITEM 20 (Where you will process)

This information should be scanned via some OCR device to prevent a clerical error of this type.

When I addressed the issue to the NVC host she stated "It went to Kuwait because the current address was Kuwait"

Here's the point...you cannot put ANY OTHER address other than your CURRENT address otherwise you are technically

    falsifying the I-129.

We have legal assistance working a back door resolution (Kuwait shipping to Manila) but that's not a sure thing.

Anyone with legal insight or experience please chime in. Since the packet left NVC they say there is

nothing they can do. And if anyone from the NVC is reading this this is the most fundamental step in

the processing -- getting the packet to the CORRECT EMBASSY -- and YOU failed!

We're in the same boat. Our petition was approved 27 of September and my fiance got our case number Thursday last week. To our surprise the case number is Jakarta case number. On I129f we clearly mention the consulate in Manila Philippines to process our petition. I am currently working here so I put Indonesia for my current address because I believe writing Philippines for my current address would be a lie since I am here. I already booked my ticket for the Phil because we really thought I'd have the interview there. My fiance called NVC immediately if theycan still change the case number/ re route it. They told him to email NVC. The following day my fiance called and said they already shipped our file to Jakarta and there's nothing they can do plus they didn't receive our email. I was depressed for days. Everything's been planned already. I will send you the link of my post. I was given a lot of good advice there. wait

  6. Gosh I have been following this thread and what an administrative mess --- The center did everything they were supposed to based on your address but made a mess for you guys in the process. One of my clients is an immigration attorney and he said that once the file makes it to the original country you can certainly get it transferred but it's going to take some time. They don't just send it over there they wait until they have a few as a batch and then package them over from what he was telling me.He didn't know about just going ahead and having the interview in Jakarta but didn't think it was a problem as OFW's have interviews at the US Embassy in different countries constantly. As long as your information is correct and you answer the questions correctly he felt you would be fine. Remember - It doesn't matter about the location of the embassy, once you are inside the grounds it is basically like you are on US soil. He suggested that you get together on an Indonesian forum inside of VJ and consult with women who are migrating here from that country. He also advised me that there is no CFO requirement if you are living outside the Philippines already. However; If you return to the Philippines after your interview you will need the stamp. This is the free advise I got -- dancin5hr.gif

Big thanks for this help. I've decided to have the interview here. Although I feel devastated right now, I'd rather go on with the process than wait for the USEM Jakarta to transfer our file to Manila. I feel like I am starting from scratch again. I am so confused where and when to have the medical here since the process is different. I can't stop thinking about being refused of the visa because this is not my mother country. I also have to wait for the packet3 before scheduling for my medical and interview unlike there in the Philippines. :(

  7. He called today and was advised by the supervisor to email NVC to change our Consulate to USEM, Manila. They ask for my address in the Phil and my scanned biographical copy of my passport. The supervisor said with this we can hope that they change the consulate from Indonesia to Philippines before they ship our file. They told us to follow up next week.

  8. Listing the (your current) address in Indonesia is why the file was sent there instead of the Philippines. Doesn't matter if you noted you wanted the interview in Manila they look at the address you listed and that is country where they send the file.

If you really want to do the process in Manila you will have to contact USEM and very likely the embassy in Jakarta.

If you decide to process in Jakarta you have no issues, the file is already on the way, just need to get the requirements for Jakarta.

My fiance' will call NVC again soon. If our file's still there we'll try to have it changed to USEM Manila. If the file is already on its way here then we'll just have the interview here.

Big thanks, Hank. I can't sleep thinking about this. Thank you again:)

  9. You must of listed your current address on the I-129F in Indonesia. That is where the issue came from, should have used your home address in the Philippines.

You will have to contact USEM and maybe the embassy in Indonesia to get the file transferred to Manila.

If you decide to do the visa application in Jakarta there are no issues, the file is already heading that way. You will have to go to the embassy website for Jakarta and find their requirements for the K-1 visa process.

I listed Philippine and Indonesia address since I am still a resident of the Phil but just currently working here. Once or twice a year I go home to spend holidays with my family. On the bottom part of the I129F, we mentioned that we wanted to have the interview in USEM, Manila.

I feel like I am starting from scratch again. I have no one to talk to about the process here. I don't even know where to have the medical.

I was already looking forward to having the medical and interview next month. I already have my ticket for Phil.

Hank, do I have to email or call the USEM Jakarta? ON our I129F we mentioned USEM, Manila for the consulate, we don't need to correct this if ever I decide to just have the interview here?

    Thank you

  10. Guys, let's say I decide to have the interview here. Would I have any problem because what we mentioned on the I129F is the USEM in Manila, Philippines? DO I have to contact the USEM here in Jakarta or should I just go ahead and schedule the interview? If it will take that long for our file to reach USEM, Manila then I will just have the interview here.

  11. I badly need help guys! I am a Filipino working in Indonesia. I clearly mentioned on the petition that I want to have the interview in USEM Manila, Philippines. Our long been awaited case number arrived today but it starts with these letters jak9830....?it should be MNL9830... for manila cases right?help? My fiance ask nvc and they said they don't know:(((help!!!!!!

  12. Hi fellow August filer!

So my fiance' just moved to a new company last month. He already requested a certificate of employment from them and it states the hourly rate he's receiving and his job title. On the affidavit of support, is it okay to mention the hourly rate X 8hrs/ week on the annual income part? My fiance's handler said he can't give him the annual income since he just started last month. He's receiving above the poverty guideline and I already have his latest ITR, 1040, and W2. But we need to fill out a new affidavit of support since he changed companies 2 weeks after we file the petition.

    Any advice please. Thanks:)

  14. We received the same reply from NVC. It's been a month since NOA2 and no case number yet. Those who were approved the same time with us got their case numbers and even scheduled their interview already:(

  15. My wife and I are applying for a CR1, I filed the petition in Manila Philippines. Since we both lived in Indonesia for a couple of years before we got married, she needs to submit a Police Record from Indonesia as part of the requirements on her interview in US Embassy.

Anyone who is from Indonesia or have lived in Indonesia and had to get the Police Record, what is the proper notation that the US embassy needs to show that the beneficiary is clean with any police record? I will deeply appreciate any comments or feedback.. thank you so much.

    Hi,

I am currently working in Indonesia. I am awaiting for our case number so we can schedule my interview in USEM, Manila. Next week I will be requesting my Police Certificate from the main Police Station in Jakarta. Well, anyone who's lived outside their mother country for more than 6 months needs to request for a police certificate to show that they have good conduct in the said country during their stay. If you can't request the police certificate personally, I believe a friend who's still here can help you get it as long as you provide the requirements needed.

  16. Hi everyone,

Is it possible to have the medical at St. Lukes on a Sunday? And is it safe to schedule the interview 6 days after the medical?

I am currently working in Indonesia. I'll be flying to Manila on December 14 and I want to have the medical the following day, December 15. On the 23rd of December I plan to have my interview. I am not sure if St. Lukes will have enough time to forward my medical results to the US Embassy.

    I need help/ before I schedule online.

    Thank you VJ family:)
