  1. Hi All,

Posting on behalf of my friend.

My friend is working in IT industry. Her H1B petition was filed this 2017 fiscal year by her employer. She received RFE few weeks ago. The deadline of RFE is 11/12/2017 which falls on sunday. The attorney mailed the RFE package only on 11/9/2017 on over night shipping. Its suppose to be arrived today on 11/10/2017 since the USCIS is closed, the package will be delivered only on monday, 11/13/2017 which is passed of RFE deadline date. She is much worried about it. If anyone goes through or went through same situation, pls share experiences and thoughts. Her question is USCIS will accept the package just one day late of the package arrival due to long weekends. Replies, highly appreciated!

  2. Hello Everyone,

Here is my sad story., I got married in India 2 years ago. I came to US on september 2014 through CR1 visa. Ever since I got here, I have been facing some domestic violence like verbal abuse, physical abuse by my mother in law and husband. Now My husband wants divorce. He already filed for divorce. I was kicked out of the house. I am now staying with my friend. I dont have a job, cant afford an attorney. My husband withdrew the affidavit of support in order to prevent from me suing him for support. He holds back all my important documents such as green card, ssn, passport, driver licence,etc.. Literally I am now abandoned by my husband and family. What should I do for securing my green card status? Any precautionary actions? Is that possible for my husband to do or say anything to USCIS to deport me? Can I apply for duplicate green card, ssn card, driver licence, passport if they are destroyed by my husband? When can i remove the condition to get the permanent green card? what are all the proofs or evidences needed for condition removal? since He withdrew the affidavit of support , Does it affect anywhere in condition removal process? My marriage is a legitimate marriage.

    Thank you.

  3. I landed in USA a week ago. POE was smooth. Still waiting for SSN and GC.

Does the SSN comes on its own or Should I go to SSA and apply for one?

Could I start looking for job without SSN or should I wait for SSN? Are there any resources available for help with resume creation and searching for job?

What are other activities I can do in the time between POE and SSN?

I started reading the drivers handbook and when can I start learning driving and apply for drivers license?

Would I be able to apply for a joint bank account and credit card without SSN?

In India We have various forms of IDs(Aadhar card, Voter Id, Pan card, Ration card, etc..) likewise, Are there any forms of ID cards in US and If so, Do I need to apply for those?

    Thanks bunches.

  7. Yes i got it by afternoon itself.

They told me that it was easier for me to get it same day since i was filing induvidually unlike compared to a number of members of a family.

I did over hear them telling to a family of a mother and two kids that it will be ready only by tomorrow afternoon.

    I got two sealed envelopes,

First containing documents related to my history of vaccinations, past illness and test results done on the medicals day.

Second was an envelope with the X ray which they told will have to be shown at POE.(not required at interview)

Im going to be free for the coming three weeks and have a ton lot of relatives to visit and say goodbye! and shop a lot too!! :content:

Hello, can i fix the appointment for biometric on june16th and medicals on june 13th? My interview is on july 15th,2014. Or Do i need to fix the dates close to interview? What are all the documents do i need to bring to biometric appointment?
