  1. Laila, I understand ur worries and frustrations. My husband has been in AP for almost 9 months now and still nothing :-(

My advice for u is to wait at least 60 days before making any sort of inquiry (I read this somewhere in their website) and so that is what I followed. Over the months, I've called, emailed, had my lawyer email them, and had my congressman email them. I've just got the same response each and every time. My point is that no matter how many times u contact them, it will not speed up the process. Unfortunately, AP is not completed until they say it is. My friend, I will tell u one that I wish others before me in my shoes would have told me...grow some thick skin and be patient :-)

And y is ur fiancé applying for non-immigrant visa?

And why is ur fiancé applying for non-immigrant visa?

  2. Meera...like Elizabeth said, I suggest u emphasize the date of interview to the medical center. If they can get u in before, great! If not, it's ok...no worries. My husband went for his medical a few days before his interview and he didn't get results yet because they said it will be " ready 10 days after interview." Since he didn't have the results at the time of his interview, the medical center gave him a piece of paper stating that he had his appnt and was seen by the dr. And he picked up his results exactly 10 days later to which he dropped it off at embassy. To answer ur question, yes it will cause a delay to ur husband's case but it will only be brief.

  3. Meera jan and myra&ashiq, i filed for my husband in feb. 2012 and he did have his interview in Kabul in feb. 2013. He has been placed under the infamous AP since. I will update my timeline as soon as I figure out how to lol I am new to this forum. I have not seen him for 1 year and 7 months. Do u guys know if will affect our case? Like the longer we go without seeing them, they will question the authenticity of the relationship? Our marriage is very much genuine. It's just that I have so much obligations here I can't just get up and leave when I want to. I'm curious about other members on here...how long did u go without seeing ur significant other?

  4. Cali, same exact thing happened to me back in 2011. I have filed 1-129F for my fiancé in Kabul. All went well until they requested proof of us meeting in person in last two years. Being that it was arranged by our parents, I have never actually met him at all. I was hoping to get this waived by having a notarized letter from the head of a local mosque explaining that we r not permitted to see each other pre-marriage. A year later, I got a denial letter back saying that the meeting can be chaperoned, etc. Before I got the denied 1-129F petition bAck, I went to Kabul to marry him. We withdrew our fiancé petition and started our 1-130 spousal paperwork last year.

Cali, my suggestion is that u MEET HER AGAIN and take many pics, hold onto ur ticket, and provide as many proof as u can. Then u can continue with ur fiancé petition (as long as u didn't miss ur deadline to submit documents) or u can get married and start fresh 1-130 paperwork. Hope this helped:-)
