  1. Hi Everyone,
I am currently filing the Ar-11 Change of Address form. I can't seem to find instructions for this form.

In the past, most "Date of Entry" to the U.S. questions have been referring to your most recent trip, on the form it asks for the same things: Date of Entry to U.S.

Does anyone know specifically if this is the most recent trip or the first trip since I ever came to the U.S. on the visa waiver program?

I have looked online and there are various answers...

  2. Hi Everyone,
As you know, USCIS requires that everyone changes their address within 10 days.
There are two options: 1) change your address, or 2) change your address on any pending applications/recently approved applications

The exact words are below - I am wondering if having a 2 year conditional greencard counts as a pending application or a recently approved application? If yes, then I have to go and give all my old receipt numbers which seems odd since I got a greencard.

    Have no pending cases;
File Form AR-11 (online OR by mail)
If you use our Online Change of Address, you do NOT need to file a paper Form AR-11.
Have any pending OR recently approved applications or petitions (except for VAWA, T or U visa); you need to complete two steps:
Step1: File Form AR-11 (online OR by mail),
    AND
Step 2: Change your address on any pending or recently approved applications or petitions, online OR by phone at 1-800-375-5283. For TTY (deaf or hard of hearing) call: 1-800-767-1833.
  3. Hey all, I have my interview coming up and we have a few questions:

    1) I sent original IRS Return Transcripts along with my original packet, do I need to reorder and bring those again?

    2) Do I need to bring my joint sponsors original W-2s?

    3) Where can I find a comprehensive list of all the the documentation to bring? I know I have the checklist on the I-797 but I want to make sure I cover all the bases.

  4. You may get updated soon to "Testing and Interview" for your I-485. That could mean you'll be given notice of your interview date in the next few days...or, as in my case and that of several others, you may end up waiting, and waiting, for 30-90 days (as per some recent filers) to hear anything. All the best though, two late July filers already have been issued notice of early October interview dates, so there is hope!

    All the best!

I also just got an email/text saying my I485 has been updated to "Testing and Interview" - so cool!

  5. Not so far. I mean, you can probably do it both ways, but I followed a guide by Nolo - it's trusted for legal advice.

    Hmm

Actually, this makes sense although other people says that spouse(petitioner) and beneficiary both should put 2. status as permanent resident.

Didn't you have any problem like RFE?

    Thank you for your answer.

  6. The USC should check Other and specify "In Support of Spouse's I-130", the beneficiary (you) should check "Status as Permanent Resident". If you don't have enough space to type it, hand write it in.

    Hello,

My spouse and I supposed to fill out G-325A respectively for form I-130.

In G-325A, what is my spouse and I is supposed to check respectively on

'This form is submitted in connection with an application for'

    1. Naturalization

    2. Status as Permanent Resident

    3. Other (Specify)

My spouse is USC, and I'm doing AOS.

Are we both supposed to check on 2.Status as Permanent Resident?

    Thank you in advance!

  7. Just an update - I called USCIS to check if it was hyphenated in their system. They said no, the lady I spoke to said that she put in Service Request to hyphenate it. The other day I get a notice saying my name was changed, but instead of hyphenating it, somehow it now has an apostrophe where the hype should be.... ridiculous. Anyway, now I have to wait 30 days before they put in a new service request and in the mean time I run the risk of having my employment authorization come with my apostrophe'd name on it...... -_-

  8. You can't file as a resident until you are one. Until your residence is approved in writing you can't do it. On a positive note, if you receive your residence on 12/31 you can file as a resident for the entire year.

OK - so if I don't have my greencard by the tax filing date, I will file as a Non-Resident Alien, as I have done for the past few years (even though my AOS will be in process).
