I would be interested in knowing how your interview went as we will also have ours in Naples.
Feel free to PM me if you would like to share more about the interview process. Thanks in advance!
It's a shame so many don't provide feedback and keep this thread going. Our interview was fine, 45 minutes tops and they asked her more questions about her family than mine. Some questions were funny "Why did you not try to find a relationship here in Germany?", "When is the wedding?" haha
You can't answer a question if you are unsure when you will get your visa.
-
So we are waiting for the German Police certificate of all things, they screwed up (naturally) and we had to request it twice. Once it arrives, hopefully on Monday we will add it to the file and send it on to Frankfurt and wait for our interview date.
So what about the copy of the I-129F I sent her that is an exact copy of the original petition and papers submitted at the beginning, she takes that with her to the interview right?
I come here looking for some support, can someone please help us? This is killing us, what do we send tot he embassy, what do we take to the embassy?
The http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/iv/step3/ website says
K-Visa ApplicantIf your K-Visa petition has been approved, the following documents should be submitted immediately:
- DS-156 (pdf - in duplicate)
- DS-156K (pdf - do not sign form; you are required to sign it before a consular officer on the day of your interview)
- DS-157 (pdf - for all male applicants between the ages of 16-45)
- Copy of your passport data page
- Then continue with step 4.
Ok, so when you go to step 4, you see the checklist
That checklist includes the exact same documents. So we did not do step 3, it makes no sense since step 4 includes those documents to be sent to the embassy.
Anyone who has completed this step, please let me know ASAP.

After 26 days of holding up my case NVC didn't pick a better day than 9/11... to send my case to Moscow. It's finally "In Transit"
Congrats!

Well I don't know what to think right now, it seems we could have some major issues in getting a Police Certificate. We were told it could be 4-6 months to get from Iran...I don't think it has sunk in yet...this just can't be right. If so, I don't know what to say
She has been living in Berlin for 8yrs..we were so close. If this turns out to be true, I don't even know what we will/can do...extended the petition that is sitting at the embassy in Frankfurt? I could cry

I have a question for you all. My fiancee has her appt with the embassy in Lima on Sept. 26. I am flying in a few days early to help her with everything even though I was told by the State Dept rep I may not be allowed in the interview. I want to make sure I have all the correct documents so our visit does not cause delays. here is what I have:
Form DS-156 Nonimmigrant Visa Application x 2 (2 copies)
Form DS-156K Nonimmigrant Fiancee Visa Application (1 copy)
Form 1-134 Affidavid of Support with 3 years W2, 2012's Tax Return, 3 Years Pay Stubs and a letter fo employment from my HR
Do I have everything currently required?
Thanks in advance.,..we are sooooo close now!!!
I think that sounds right. We are going through this part now as well, we are now looking at paying the Visa Application Fee for €193 and to make payment is not easy like with credit card. Everything is such a hassle at this point and we are frustrated but getting there.
I provided 3yrs taxes, letter from employer, paystubs since joining this new firm (4 months). I think showing taxes is much better than pay stubs so I didn't send any from my previous job.
Close but still no cigar.

Thanks a lot , this is a big reliefe for me.
Yeah, it means your case was electronically sent to the consulate and by DHL. That is what I was told when I contacted them a few days after getting our case number.
Won't be long until we should hear from the consulates. Our medical was done today, so waiting on interview date. Also, has anyone been invoiced yet for the fees?
-
This is a good thing right? : )
-
So much good news flying around for so many...what we will need next is wedding advice.
Who wants to start that thread? : )

That is AWESOME JEANNIE!!!!!!!!!!
Loved reading your update!!!!!
Awesome!!
Touchdown! Congrats!

Called yesterday and we now have our NVC case number. Medical on Friday...then what? Call the embassy to schedule interview?
-
I have been travelling but got the email and text that our case has shipped to NVC on August 15th. I just called and they haven't received it yet. Hopefully by end of this week they should have it and we can get the case number
Close but no Cigar
-
Got the email today that our case has been shipped to NVC. I will call next week to see if they have our FRN number...it's getting close for some of us eh?
-
Update:
My Fiance needs the FRN number for the medical in Berlin so we must wait. Today is 2wks since NOA2 and I called the NVC. They say it has not yet reached the NVC
Should I check daily or speak to someone else?
-
sorry that I wanted to help....I called Dortmund and Frankfurt before I had my case number from Frankfurt and was told that I need the FRN case number. But maybe it depends...I just can speak for these two doctors. Ask the doctor in Berlin if they need the FRN number or not. Vanessa for example in Munich didn't need the NVC case number.
No you are a wonderful help, this thread is all about sharing information so thank you. Yes, I will have her ask because as you mentioned Vanessa had no such issues doing the medical beforehand. What is FRN exactly?
-
you will receive a hardcopy from NVC but you can call NVC or DOS and get your new case number earlier so that you can for example make an appointment for the medical faster.
You keep making it sound like we have to wait to do the medical until after we have received our NVC case number while others have done the medical before.
So which is it? As it is now, she is going to schedule the medical for next week in Berlin.
-
As far as I know his fiancé is German so it's not a different country.
Yes, she will be doing the medical in Berlin.
I am nervous about these next steps and want to make sure no mistakes are made so we can avoid any delays.
It has now been one week since NOA2, I will wait until next Wednesday to call NVC and ask if we have a case number, correct? Or will I receive a notice from NVC?
So close, yet so far away
-
I want to know exactly what the next steps are so as to avoid any delays.
I am going to send my Fiance the remaining papers (she has the duplicate I-129F packet already). I have heard conflicting things about the medical and the consulate interview.
One post mentioned you have to wait to schedule the medical until you get your interview date? That can't be right can it? We would like to go ahead and get the medical completed and ensure we have all the immunizations required (help with this if you know about these please) so when the interview is scheduled in Frankfurt, we will be 100% ready.
As it is now, she is going to get her medical done next week. The immunizations are something we would like clarification on, if anyone has passed this step please let me know if there is anything we need to prepare for
-
I have already given her the replica I-129F packet when we were last together. I will now send her
I-134
Updated Intent to marry
Signed letter from employer, 3-4 pay stubs
Copy of NOA2
More proof of ongoing relationship
One big question she has is the medical, will this be covered by her Insurance in Berlin? Am I missing anything from the list above that I need to gather and send to her?
So happy to have woken up to this approval this morning.

Yay!
Got our NOA2 this morning, I was laying in bed and heard my phone. Thought it would be an email from my sweetie checked and OMG, USCIS
"On July 30, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."
-
Woooooooooo!!!!! Just received our approval !!!! NOA2 took approx 8 months but what a relief. Thanks all for the support you provide on this forum
Now this is the one I am most happy to see, you waited an extremely long time for some reason. Congrats!
-
Hey guys, how long does it take for us to receive a case number from NVC? I got approved on the 2nd.. and still waiting.. i keep calling and they keep saying that they have not received my petition!
Please update your timeline, when I looked at it I thought of course you don't have a case number since your timeline shows no NOA2.
If you got your NOA2 on July 2nd, it shouldn't be much longer before NVC will have your case number. I have heard in a little as two weeks and for you, tomorrow will be 2weeks. So let's hope this week you get your case number
Good luck and let us know

Got the 3rd email about the transfer last night, this time the wording was "The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office."
Got the actual letter in the mail today that states
"This is to notify you that we have transferred the above application or petition to the USCIS office at:
Texas Service Center, P.O. Box 851488 - Dept. A, mesquite, TX 75185-1488"

We can't speak to your situation, this thread is for those who filed an I-129F visa. I am unfamiliar with the I-130 visa
