  1. Shema,

Sorry for the delay response. I wasn't asked for the x-ray but on the website it said to have it on hand, so I kept it in my carry on all I had in hand was the packet they gave me and my passport. Entering the USA and getting your temp greencard is by far the easiest part, it takes about 6-7 years for get a visa and about 10 mins to get a green card.

After arriving at the airport, I entered the US citizen and US resident line which is all marked clearly. The officer performs his scan and document check, then asked me to follow him to the processing room, this wan't really a room just an open space at the back. The officer then took my finger prints, and ask me to sit down and wait. Ten mins later I was given back my passport with instructions about SS# and I was sent off.

Thanks so much for replying Cassanoa. Congratulations on your easy entry into the US. Hope you get the green card soon.

  2. Hello all,

I had my interview on July 18th, and was approved. And the official told me that i should wait for the visa sent to my house in about two weeks. But today when i check my case status on https://ceac.state.gov , my case is still "READY" and the last updated date is on July 21 , instead of like my brother case updated to "Issued" just after 24 hrs of his interview.

Does anyone know is it normal or abnormal? While my brother had interview on July 17th, and he got his visa and package today. :(

    I am very worry now.

Thank you for all, and congrats and good luck to all of waiting now. I know it has been such a very long time of waiting for all of us. :)

Hello little_pig, congratulations!!! You have nothing to worry about. I had my interview early July and I only got my VISA last week. Just be patient for a few more days and you will soon have your VISA in hand.

  3. My visa was issued today, and I received both my passport and packet. I've already purchased my plane ticket! Thank you all for the support you all shown me, and the guidance to get me through this lengthy process. It was a long and frustrating journey, however you all made it bearable with positive thinking and the information on timeline. I'm not leaving you guys, I will be here to help motive, encourage and must importantly to provide feedback and guidance.

    Thank you all!

Congrats Cassanoa, I'm still waiting for mine, I hope I get it next week (God willing). Hope you have a great life in the US.

  4. Hi all, my interview was also on Tuesday 1st July 2014. My visa was approved, and I thank the good Lord for that. The questions asked were basic ones along the lines of:

    1. Who petitioned me

    2. Our relationship

    3. Where do both my parents live

    4. What job do I do

    5. Am I married?

    6. Do i have any children

    7. Do I have a boyfriend?

I was asked for my petitioner's 2013 taxes (which I had) and an updated police certificate (which I also had).

And that was it. I know how difficult and nerve wracking this entire process can be so my advice to all those still waiting is to be patient and enjoy life in the meantime. Your turn will come and you will receive your visa. Hope to see some good movement soon!!!

    Hey Guys,

I've been busy over the last couple of days, but I wanted to say that my Visa interview was on 1st July 2014 and everything went well. The only additional documentation I had to provide was my sponsor's 2013 taxes. The interviewer said every looks to be in-order and the visa was approved, it would take 4-5 days to process.

    Congratulations Cassanoa!!!!

  5. THey probably want an updated AOS with 2013

tax information from your sponsor. Be sure to bring a copy of your sponsors 2013 taxes just in case. You might even want to bring an updated AOS with the new tax info to have all your bases covered.[/quote

Thank you for replying Walfredo. I will speak to my mom and the co sponsor to prepare another affidavit of support just in case it is needed. They have already sent me the updated taxes.

Hope u get your interview letter soon!!!

  6. Hi, I recently received my interview letter (Pd March 26, 2007, F1). My interview is on July 1, 2014. My case has been complete since 2011. What I would like to know is whether I am required to go to the interview with an updated affidavit of support from my petitioner and co-sponsor. I have already sent one in 2010 before the case was completed but I am not sure if I need to bring an updated one to the interview.

Awaiting a reply so I can get my mom to prepare one asap for me if it is needed.

    Thanks!!!

  7. Hey Guys, I just wanted to update on my progress. I have completed my medical exam. I'm going to apply for my police record next week.

Hey Cassanoa apart from the updated tax papers were u requested to bring an updated Affidavit of support.

In my letter the code states that NVC has sent the financial evidence to the embassy. It does not ask me to bring it along. But it does state somewhere on the letter that even if i have submitted documents that i must still bring them with me. Does that mean that i must bring along an updated affidavit of support.

It would be appreciated if anyone who knows the answer can reply. Thanks.

  8. Hi All,

Had my interview today. Was very nerve racking. Lots of questions about my previous overstay. Also asked if anyone else was dependent on my mum for financial support. I was in and out of embassy in an hour. It was gruelling wait though. The case has been updated on ceac to administrative processing. Hoping for a quick turn around so I can really relax!

    Cheers

    Lauza

Congratulations on passing your interview. Hopefully you will be out of AP very quickly and reunited with your family!!!!

  9. Hi Friends,

Whats up with the Interview Letters ? Did anyone receive the Interview letters yet ?

These are the last 5 working days of March.

HARROLDS, VESBLADE, LITTLE_PIG, SHEMA758, CASSANOA --- Any luck people ?? Do update us if there is any news.

Hi G_One, as soon as I get my letter I will inform you guys. You will know I have received my letter even before my mother (my petitioner) , lol!!!

  10. Hi,

My interview was 3 days ago.

Its easy to get green card when everything (all docs) are complete.

    And it was my case.

I arrived at 7:00 Am and around 9:00 it was done.

    She just said:

    1. Do you swear say the truth ...

    2. Who did apply to you (my mother)

    3. Is she US citizen (yes)

    4. How many time does she lives there (more than 10 years, around 13 years)

    5. what do you do in brazil (Telecommunications system analyst)

    6. Why do you want go now to USA (I always wanted to go)

    7. What (I want to go to live with my mother)

    8. Ok your visa was aproved.

At points 6 and 7 - I said that I always wanted to go to USA, but she was expecting to hear that I want to live there to be with my mother.

As I can see the main purpose of these type of visa (FB1) is: family reunification. So I must say that I wanna go to be with her

My passport is valid till 7 september, so they must give limit to go 2 months before expiration date. I must be there till 7 july.

Some importantes questions that I learned with my process:

    * unmarried means unmarried. If you was married and divorced you continue being unmarried.

    * Just answer what they ask. Don´t try explain why 1 + 1 = 2. You can be sure they know

    * If you are here on this journey (FB1, FB2,...) you have the RIGHT to have your green card, you are just waiting the queue. Don´t be nervous at interview.

    * Search through forums and advices but always ask for the (legal) source of the information.

    * fill out all the forms, say the truth and have all the docs.

I hope all the good people (just these ones) at this forum can get their visas.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Good luck in your new life!!!!
