    I completely understand. I know how hard it is. I am waiting for my fiance and it is sooooo hard...I cant even imagine how hard it is to be married and then part.. I pray Allah unites us all with our loved ones... You are filing for a spousal visa so I think NVC schedules the interview date..but don't worry, your almost there, just hang in there :)

    We are also waiting for our interview date but that the US embassy in Islamabad will schedule and its been almost 2 months since we are waiting for a date...

    Hello & Salam my fellow VJ'ers

    Just thought to create a post about those who are waiting for packet 4 and their interview date at the US embassy Islamabad.

    We submitted packet 3.5 requirements in November and still waiting. Anyone here who has had any progress please share your experience.

    Are the forms required for K1 visa now compeltely different? We were going to fill out the forms beforehand so we were prepared..... but now it seems like DOS changed the requirements.

    Is all that's required now DS-160 & DS-260 and I-134?

    Please don't tell me to go to the VJ guides. They aren't updated or answering my Qs.

    Hello :)... Yes, the forms are different now. It changed on October 7th. All forms are replaced by the online DS-160. If you visit the link below, it tells you what you need. The islamabad embassy website also gives the link to travel.state.gov

    According to the link, only DS 160 has to be completed and the confirm page has to be bought to the interview. The I-134 is optional for Islamabad but I would take it no matter what. I am currently working on this step as well because we got our approval a few days before the change. Have you received your case number from NVC yet. If so, you should email the embassy to double check if anything else is needed. Thats what I will do. I am just waiting on the NVC part.

    Call NVC and when they say they have received the case and have sent it to Islamabad ..get the case number from them...then e mail Islamabad embassy asking them for packet 3.5 with the case number and they will send u packet 3.5 via e mail...they do not send a hard copy. They just send it by e mail but what I noticed is that when I e mailed them...they sent me the packet 3.5 right away whereas without e-mailing they take their time and send it to you in the order they receive their cases...

    Hey.. Thank you so much for the info. I called nvc today but no case number yet though. Maybe next week, insha'Allah.. I'm guessing now packet 3 consists of ds 160 because all other forms have been replaced by it starting October 7th. Just another question, does NVC make appointments for Islamabad or does islamabad do that directly?

    G325-A and Letter of intent form question

    When I file for my k-1 Visa, my significant other and I will have to fill out and sign the g325 form. She lives overseas and I heard that the form must be in original form. Will we be able to have her print it, sign it, scan it, and send it through email? will this work? same goes to the letter of intent. How did you guys do it? If she has to send it through mail, that would take a long time. And would I be able to sign it for her?

    Umm..My fiance actually sent it in the mail. But I don't see any problem with her scanning it and then you printing it. As long as its signed by her you should be fine. I don't think they care where it was printed lolz :)

    Oh and no I didnt get packet 3 yet. I actually didnt even get my NOA2 yet but my case was transferred last week and Im hoping/expecting good news soon so just wanted to prepare for the next step because I know the islamabad consulate is scary lolz

    Hello VJ-ers,

    I am preparing my Fiances Visa applications and have a quick question. On the travel.state.gov site it says you need DS-156 (2 copies), DS-156 K, and DS-230. However, there are other forms such as DS 157 and DS 158. Are those also needed or those are for different cirsumstances? I checked the embassy website for Islamabad and got no information there :(

    DS 160 is for all nonimmigrant categories except K applications)

    The documents that you will receive in package 3 are the followings:

    Packet 3 Contains: Specifying the documents needed and actions that must be taken by the beneficiary and the petitioner prior to issuance of a visa.

    Packet 3.5 for K1 Visas (for Afghans) Requests These Documents:
    Cover Letter
    Passport Photos 2"x2" (2 in addition to the ones attached to DS-156s)
    Copy of National ID Translation
    DS-156 (2 copies, EVAF, w/ original passport photo attached)
    DS-157 (1 copy)
    DS-156K (1 copy)
    DS-230 part I & II (1 copy)
    Parental Information Form
    I-134 Affidavit of Support w/ Supporting Financial Docs from Petitioner> optional .
    Dont need to fill all forms for k1 just fill out DS- 160 online and need to email the comformation to the embassy .
    **Note: Police Cert for Afghans is NOT required unless they lived in another country after age 16 for more than 6 months.

    Medical contact information
    Vaccination requirements
    Picture requirements
    All forms included with exception of DS-156 which must be completed and printed offline. Web address given in packet.
