  1. Does anyone has been in the medical examination with a kid who has been detected with attention deficil disorder recently, how did you managed it. My son is 7 years old.

Did you tell to the doctor about it? Please help on this.

Don't worry - my son is blind and autistic and believe it or not hyperactive! I gave the dr and the embassy a report from his school and dr's on his condition and they weren't bothered in the least. The officer at the embassy was very pleasant and told me not to worry about it as it was something they would be able to handle in the USA.

    Good Luck

  2. Has anybody else been told they need additional DHS approval to issue their driver's license when they have their green card? My daughter passed her written test and driver's test and when we went to the DFA to get the driver's license issued we were told she needed additional DHS approval! That was lask week Tuesday, we went again today and got told the same thing. I asked why this hadn't been the case with me as we have the same documents and I was told they had no idea why it happened and that we would have to wait for DHS approval? This seems like overkill when we had to get DHS approval to get the green card and SSN to begin with.!

  3. Congratulations! What a relief to hear that it can go fairly quickly!

Might I ask...did you send them a lot of supporting materials with your packet? I'm wondering if the more information you give them, the better chance you'll have to get it through sooner (though I know such logic is pointless when talking about this process.) What types of supporting documents/information did you send?

I sent only the supporting docs they asked for, copies of utility bills, bank statements and we only had 3 photos, as Mike and I got married in court and there was just the 2 of us but we did purchase a house shortly before we got married and I included a copy of the closing statement -don't know if this helped or not.

    Good luck and thanks

  5. I brought my LabradorX , Sophie with me. We used a pet transport company and it cost a small fortune. She had a terrible time. Atlanta messed up and wouldn't put her on the connecting flight to Memphis as they said her crate was too big. Then they couldn't find her documentation which was taped to her crate and wanted to impound her. She arrived after nearly 3 days at 10.30pm in a crate that was too small by ASPCA standards, unable to stand properly or turn around. I don't think I'd have brought her with us if I'd have know what she was going to be subjected to.

  6. Happiness can never be built on somebody elses unhappiness. How would you feel if the shoe was on the other foot and your wife was considering cheating on you?Your marriage is still very young and derserves a chance to grow and mature into something deeper and more meaningful. It sounds like you are infatuated with this woman and she appeals to your ego. Therapy is a good idea. Maybe you should try working out your own problems first before you start couples therapy? I am not so sure you should tell your wife about this woman as it will destroy her trust in you.

  7. Hi

I thought I'd post this for anybodyelse who's looking for a civil surgeon in Memphis who won't charge the earth or insist on you having another medical done. After trawling through a long list and nearly fainting at being quoted $325.00, I called The Medical Group on Madison Ave tel 901 726-0200 and spoke to a very pleasant lady by the name of Terika and she told me they only charge $25.00.

    Ciao for now

  8. Hey Folks... I'm feeling a little homesick today. It hasn't even been 2 weeks yet and I'm bored! Missing my job, my family & friends so much. BUT... I get to finally live with my LOVE so I'll get used to it.

It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow since my arrival here.... and am wondering if I should go ahead and apply for my SSN. I have done some research on here and discovered that it is possible to do so without the EAD stamp/documentation because my K1 visa and I-94 doc. is enough to suffice. I'm so confused! Does this mean that once I have my SSN I can start applying for jobs? Even before I'm married and applied for AOS? :help:

Go ahead an apply for your SSN. You only need to wait 2 weeks to ensure that you are in the system. I applied after 2 weeks and got my card less than 2 weeks later. Once you are married you can apply to have a new card issued in your married name. I just did that today.

    Good luck

  9. Oh my word yes.....there are loads of us on VJ who are in the same boat. There's a huge thread about it in this forum!

Timeline data seems irrelevant....it's all over the place.

My district office tells me they have over 100 files just like ours..........

    Hi Rebeccajo

Sorry to hear your still waiting! Been a few months since i've been on here. We're hoping to start our AOS journey next month and I guess it's going to be a long one.

    Keep your spirits up
