  1. what ability the authorized user has in the credit card account? what can do and not?

please if somebody know the answer i really appreciated it

You can build your credit score as an authorized user. I added my husband to my two major banking credit cards and less than 6 months he has an established a strong credit score. As the others have said, having your own credit score in the US is essential.

  2. Hi,

My husband and I completed our AOS interview this week. It was painless, quick and we were easily approved. Our interview occurred in Portland, OR. To learn first hand other's experiences with your local field office go here http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/and enter your field office.

There really isn't any preparation required outside of reading the letter you will receive and bringing all the documentation they request. I had a large folder of documentation I brought that included everything on their letter even the items I knew they already had from both the K-1 process and our AOS process. I really didn't need any of it but I was happy that I had it with me just in case. You don't want to be delayed or denied due to a formality or a missing document that you believe they should have. What they are really looking for at your interview is (1) You are a bona fide married couple so bring all the proof you have for co-mingling and photos of your wedding (2) Affidavit of Support is sufficient so be sure to bring all the required financial documentation they need to confirm the support meets required guideline.

Finally relax about it a little. I know it can be stressful but if you are a legitimate couple and the financial support it there, you have nothing to worry about.

    Wishing you all the best.

  3. Hi! Sorry I meant to respond to this last week!

Well, we were successful mostly! Our AOS is approved, but as it turns out they didn't have Chickenpox vaccine in Moscow so we had to go take care of that. Otherwise all is well and we're essentially done.

The whole process was very easy. We arrived about 7:30, there was plenty of parking. We went through the security checkpoint and were sent upstairs which was already surprisingly full of people who were waiting for window services. They come out and call you by name for the interview. At about 8:05 we were called back and interviewed with a woman who seemed all business at first but warmed up a lot over the course of the interview. Some very basic questions that anyone who has spent any amount of time with their husband/wife should know and then we gave evidence of our relationship (We brought phone bill/Insurance paperwork but somehow the one document I managed to forget was our lease on our apartment- she was okay with it.) And about 15 photos which we went through and she kept for our file. After that she said we were approved pending the vaccination.

All told we were out the door by 8:22. Very efficient, very professional. I was very nervous going in but when all is said and done, it was a very straightforward procedure. So good luck to you! I'm sure though, that you'll do great.

    Best!

Congratulations on your approval! Thanks so much for providing your experience. I very pleased to see the process was roughly an hour.

  4. Did u adjust through k1 ? Wat is the interview like wat am i supposed to prepare is it that hard like the k1 visa at the embassy? Wat does portland office need to have in order to pass the interview?

Yes my husband did come to the US on a K1. You will receive a letter once your interview is scheduled with everything you need to bring. For the most part you will need to prove you are in a bona-fide marriage by showing proof of commingling.

  5. I am in portlsnd office and the website says they are working on files for last year dec 19th not touched this year yet. That means we who filed in April we are for next year?

I too have Portland. I filed AOS March 17th. Our initial interview was October 2 but we had to reschedule as my husband was away on business travel. Our rescheduled interview is October 29. It took almost 6 months from the date we filed to get our initial interview date. Sadly we are going through a slower office. Upside there are slower.

  6. For anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation, I wanted to provide an update.

We called to reschedule the appointment on August 29th. A week later we received a letter from the Portland, Oregon field office requesting proof that my husband was traveling for work before they would consider rescheduling. We faxed in his fight itinerary. A week later we received a letter saying they had canceled our original interview date. Then on September 26th, a little over two weeks later, we received our rescheduled interview letter. Our newly scheduled interview is 3 weeks after the original date.

If you can avoid the reschedule, do yourself a favor and do. It's not difficult to reschedule with a legitimate reason, it's just a very tedious process and does cause a delay.

  7. Hello All,

My husband and I have our AOS interview in a month at the Portland Oregon field office.

I am wondering if anyone has experience with the AOS interview in Portland and can advise how long the process took.

Asking as my husband needs to book a flight for work to depart the evening of our interview and we want to be sure to leave a sufficient amount of time.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Hello All,

FINALLY received our interview letter today after waiting for 6 months and wouldn't you know it--the interview is scheduled during a time my husband is away on business travel. So we are calling to reschedule.

My question for those who have had to reschedule, how long did it take to get your new appointment letter?

I am trying to assess how much of a delay to expect.

In the event it is relevant, our interview is at the Portland, Oregon field office.

    Many thanks!

  9. Hello All,

Quick question--Will my husband be required to have level two (think that is what it is called) review each and every time he travels outside of the US when he returns?

Anyone traveled back into the US with minor children? Asking as he is traveling to the UK in a few weeks to collect his kids to come to the US for a visit. We are having his ex wife sign a document stating that she is aware and approves but do we need to plan for anything else?

    Thanks.

  10. Hello All,

My status for I-485 has been the same for 8 weeks. No change and no letter received to schedule interview OR waiver. Has me a little worried that something has gotten lost in the mail. Does anyone know it it's normal to sit in this status for many weeks or months?

Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

  11. Hello All,

I am looking at the best option to transfer funds from the US to the UK on a monthly basis. I have seen Xoom mentioned on this forum before and have read user reviews which are good but Transferwire had much better user ratings.

Has anyone used Transferwire? If yes, what has been your experience?

If you have another agency that you use for this and you have had a good experience, please share.

    Many thanks

  12. I was in the tourist line. He only has combo card, so he isn't a resident yet. I asked in the airport and that is where they directed me to (that was in Houston, if it helps). He will go through mandatory secondary inspection, which was a breeze for me, I basically sat down in a room for 5 minutes, then were called to a window and handed the passport with the "paroled into the US" sticker on it.
