  1. Hi, I got my NOA1 on 14 Mar'14 & my NOA2 on 18 Aug'14. My fiancé told me that the letter with my case number said I should go to ccac.state.gov to complete DS-160. I read online that DS-160 is replacing DS156, DS156K & Part 1 DS-230. I understand that DS-160 is to set an interview appointment, but is there anything for me to wait for, like Packet 3 & Packet 4? How about medical appointment?

  2. Note that in some embassies, you must request the extension and there is no guarantee it will be granted. (You need to have a good reason to extend.)

Thanks. We'll apply for the passport today, can get it within the same day. I only found out yesterday that I can only apply the Certificate of Good Conduct online & that I must need my passport & photo. It'll be ready in 1-2 months. I saw others got it in less than a month, so hopefully I would've enough time. I wonder if I should just sit & wait for the embassy to send me the Packet 3, or if I should contact them. Reason is because it has been 36 days since NOA2, but then I haven't even got my papers together.

  3. Are you saying that you had signed up for text and email notices as well but did not get them for the NOA2? Instead only finding about it from the hard copy?

My fiancé signed up for the email notice but went to another state, Florida, because my MIL was very sick there (cancer), was in & out of hospital, so my fiancé didn't check the email. Neighbor got the hardcopy & forwarded the hardcopy to Florida, so then only get to see the NOA2.

  4. Thanks for the links, I checked them out earlier but still can't find info about the dates on the NOA2. My finance already sent me the copy of I-129F & all its supporting documents, except Form I-134 (supporting documents already sent to me), latest letter of intent to marry, & some letters with original signatures (supporting documents already sent to me). It may take about 1 month+ for the documents to be ready & to reach me. So, I'm a bit worried about the dates on NOA2, wonder if I must get everything done before that date, or if I can stretch it a bit longer than the stated date on NOA2. I got into accident & my car will take 2-3 weeks to be repaired. If the dates on NOA2 aren't important, I'll just wait till my car is ready before getting my things together, like taking photos & applying for passports for me & our child (mine expired & our child never had one before), etc.

  5. We received our NOA1 on 14 Mar'14, then our NOA2 on 18 Aug'14. However, we only found out about our NOA2 today after receiving the hardcopy. May I know what the dates mean on the NOA2? It says, "Valid from 08/18/14 - 12/17/14". My fiancé still have to prepare some papers to send to me, example I-134, it may take 1 month to get the things ready & to reach me. Does that mean I've to get everything done before 12/17/14, including medical & interview?

  6. Thanks for sharing your story. It's extremely unfortunate that you met such a person. I know it's not easy to have left so many good things behind for someone & then turn around you've to go back to start from scratch while the other person basically lose peanut as compare to you. I don't have a solution for you, but I think it's best for you to go back to your home country as you've support there, life can be so unfair, take that as a lesson & be more careful when you meet someone new from another country again, make sure he's a responsible type since you'll be one who's taking the risk.

  7. Thanks a lot for the feedback! I guess I'll put ----N/A--- for the middle name since some said put N/A & some -----------.

I moved too many places in the past many years due to job & I don't keep the actual addresses & I can't remember them, just remember the area, but I've been staying in my own house for more than 5 years already, so I'll just put 1 address then.

For employment, correct me if I'm wrong. My last employment is Dec'09, so I'll put None for Jan-Dec'13, Jan-Dec'12, Jan'-Dec'11, Jan-Dec'10 & then the last employment, right?

    Thanks for the great help!

  8. Hi, I'm the foreign fiancee. Let's say my surname is Gan & my given name is Kah Yee, I know it's correct that I put Gan in the last name column, but is it correct that I put Kah Yee in first name column only, & put None (or should I put N/A / leave it empty?) in middle name column?

In the Applicant's Resident Last 5 Years, my Street Name & Number are longer than the column provided, can I continue to write it in the 2nd line, but there'll be empty space for the City, Province/State, etc in that 2nd line because it'll be provided in the 1st line?

Also (related to the above paragraph), the G325A example provided, it says "don't leave gap in time", then the applicant has address as far as from the day she was born. Do I need to do this too? From current till the day I was born? Or 1 address is enough if I stay at the same place in the last 5 years?

Lastly, Applicant's Employer Last 5 Years. Is it like the above that I've to go far back to the time I just got out of school?

    Thank you in advance.
