  1. Hello,

I'm about to mail my husband's I-130. I have a question hopefully I can get an advice, my husband had a throwback on his first attempt in 1999. He's been in the USA since then. We would file a 601A "provisional waver" once we get the I130 approval.

I'm in doubt if I should disclose the throwback on a statement with the I-130 or if I should wait to disclose this info. on the 601-A. What do you guys think I should do?

  4. Still "cannot be found". Am I the only one?

Did you make copies of the AOS package? I would sent them again copies of everything and a copy of all the NOA letters you had received and a copy of the cancel check or money order you sent to USCIS, Type a letter explaining that you are re-sending all forms because your case cannot be found. You can mail it or even better get an info pass and take all this in person.

Good luck and don't wait any longer, take action.

PS. If you hired an attorney he should be doing this for you.

  5. I'm a June filer as well and my field office is Miami, Fl.

Since July in in testing and interview. And no changes or updates so far.

Is this normal or should I contact them? Or should I wait some more?

    I appreciate some advice smile.png

Did you received EAD card? I would call them its been six months since you filed. At least just to make sure your file hasn't been lost. It happens that USCIS loses files.

  6. Congrats to all those who are getting good news! Wish it were the same for us...

Filed AOS June 10th. Our local office (Helena, MT) is currently processing February 15, 2013. UGH!!!!!!

I also filed for my EAD and AP, with a letter requesting for my AP to be expedited due to my sick grandpa. Hopefully they work this quickly. SO frustrating. I cannot wait for the 2 months free of USCIS.

Does anyone know at which time we can file for citizenship? I thought I had read that you can file for citizenship after 3 years of being married to US citizen...

It is not after 3 years of being married. It is Three years from the date you became a legal resident, you can file for the Citizenship three months before the three years.

Wahoo!!! Just received notification of a status update on AOS today:

    Card/ Document Production

On November 6, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

    yehey.congrats

    @olsan

You fixed your name issue already?

Almost 5 months to the date of filing, no interview. Praise God for all that He has done in this process. He is good!!

    Congrats Triz.....!

  7. Congratulations triz, I recently felt the relief you must be feeling right about now. ahaa..

would take another week or two to get to you though, mine was just mailed today.

I think that just about rounds it up for the class of June 2013.

And i called them yesterday, they said it was out of their hands. So im just gonna hope its a typo.

your'e right Sanyata, the fun never stops!

    Yey, we all got approved......!

  8. Since my interview last Sept 12, my status has now been changed to "Card production". What a relief!! I thought I was gonna be denied because my interview wasnt really that pleasant as compared to what I have read here. My interview took almost 2 hours. The interviewer asked gazillion of questions separately b/w me and my husband. The interviewer asked in detail the pictures that we brought. All about what we have done for the past 2 weeks in detail and even very intimate questions. It was so mentally tiring. So in the end, the interviewer said that they need to do a background check because there were a few inconsistencies with our answers. Even threatened my husband if they would detect any fraudulent stuff with our marriage, he has to face the consequences. So fine, whatever.

My advice to everyone who hasnt been interviewed is, be prepared. Always expect for the worst. If you know that your marriage was made in good faith, you have nothing to worry about. I have been in and out of this country since I was a kid. So perhaps they have figured that if I would have wanted to stay here before for good, I should have done that eons ago. I am just so relieved.

    @olsan

If I were you, I would call to verify that it was only a typo error. You would have a difficult time if your greencard wont match your other IDs.

Congrats Triz, what an agony it must have been for you all this time. I'm glad it all turn out good and you were approved. Probably it took even longer due to the Government Shut down.

  9. Hi heaven93, I read your timeline, and says that your GC will expire on 2023.. that is 10 years.. you are so lucky.. mine is still on conditional status which is only 2 years... =)

    A

    Hi Irah,

It is because my AOS was through a parent not marriage. On the other hand you'll be able to become a U.S. Citizen in three years, on my case is five years. Any ways we had been bless already with our cases being approved

  10. Hi everyone I just want an advice about calling uscis for my AOS been pending since June 15 no updates, so I wanted to call them but I don't know if that is a good idea. Plz any idea.

If you haven't receive an REF since you file, probably your interview has been waived. Definately I would call them or get an infopass to speak to them in person.. Did you get your EAD?

  11. hey guys!! My GC arrived!! I am so happy!! and keep me update about you guys!! and good luck!!

Congrats Gabiskis, I hope I'll receive mine next week. I received a,notification yesterday that the welcome letter was mailed on the 13th, my GC was approved at the interview on 9/11.

It was ordered for production on 9/12/13....

I'm glad I found this forum, thanks to it I knew what to expect.

  12. Congrats on your approval!

We just had our interview yesterday and had to wait 1hr 30mins till we were called in.

Got there around 9:30am (interview was at 10am) and we weren't called until close to 11:30am.

That wait was brutal!!! But luckily the interview itself was over in 15mins.

He asked to see original Birth Certificates and passports and Driver Licenses and Wedding Certificate.

He just asked each others birthdays and name of her mom and dad. Place of POE and asked about my job.

He loved the fact that we were organized and quick to hand over originals quickly to him.

He said we gave a lot of solid evidence and will approve the case.

Then he looked at the pictures we brought in and talked about RoC in 2 years.

Thank goodness the interview approval went nice and easy other than the wait time to get called in!

Good luck to the others that have their interview soon!

    Congrats...J&h, our timelines were similar...!
  13. Green Card Approved! So happy!!!

We arrived at 11:30am for our interview scheduled at 12:05pm. Went through metal detectors and sat down. We got called in at about 1:15pm ? Looong wait. Our officer was of Asian descent, seemed mean at first and I was pretty nervous. We did the oath and he began asking for our documents, ID cards and my passport, visa, I-94 and both of our birth certificates. Asked me my name, address, DOB, my parents names (which i almost forgot due to my nervousness!!! ) etc. Then all the criminal questions on the I-485. He then asked us how we met, the date, the movie we saw on our first date, the date he proposed, wedding details ( # of guests, who paid etc). Then he asked for joint assets, showed him bank statements, lease agreement, and insurance papers. Then he asked for photos or any extra stuff, so I gave him our photo album, wedding invitation and some cards from our friends and family. He looked through the whole album asking questions here and there about the photos (in a very friendly way). He then told us he was going to approve our case and that he just needed to make some copies ( made copies of wedding invitation and IDs). When he came back he told me he was going to keep my EAD :( my visa and my i-94s. He gave me a sheet of paper stating my case was approved and said I could use that to get a job or a license etc, if I need to before my green card arrives.

It was a very pleasant experience overall except for the wait before being called in. I am so relieved!!! Did they take

    your EAD?

Congrats.... ! They didn't take my EAD, she just made a copy and gave me back my card. the, officer didn't give me any papers. I guess each office works different.

  16. Hey there JedNik,

Yes, sometimes people from K-1 can have the AOS interview waived. There is no way of knowing you just wait and see if you will get an interview or not.

I agree with the above, unfortunately there's a disadvantag, it takes longer to get the green card some people said up to a year. Check the forum about AOS interview waved, the processing time is very slow. Good luck
