  1. My wife and I were married neraly a month ago. She is on a K1 visa. We have not yet filed for AOS, and we wonder, if we moved after the wedding, do I have to file the I-865 even though:

The instructions on the I-865 say to file only if I completed an I-864 in the past. In fact, I haven't. The affidavit of support I filed on her behalf for I-129F is a different form not mention in these I-865 instructions.

Are there any other forms that need to be processed before filing the AOS package from a new address?

Will the filing of these forms delay the processing time of my AOS package and/or is it wise to wait for the change address forms to be cleared before sending the package?

    Thanks very much.

  2. I entered the us on a K-1 visa and I got married a week later.

My husband and I are filling the forms for my AOS but we haven't sent them yet.

We are living in New-York city although our adress in the forms is in Florida because we are there part time.

It is more practicle for us to keep the same adress that we have been using the whole time. ( during the K-1 process ).

Would USCIS be confuse if the affidavit of support shows that my husband receives an income from New-York but resides in Florida?

    I'm hoping this makes sense.

All the mail from Florida is sent to us in NY on the briefest delay so should we keep it cool and not go through the whole change of adress thing???

    Thanks for helping... :)

  3. Hello all!

I am sponsoring my French Canadian wife in the US since we were married 3 weeks ago, while we apply for and await our AOS and EAD. I was living in FL for the majority of this year, but since getting work in New York City, I have moved and my new address is in Manhattan. Is it absolutely necessary to alert someone to my new addess even though I have lived in FL for the majority of the year and given the fact that our K-1 process was all done from there?

The way I see it, the only thing making me a NY resident is this new job, which began in the latter part of the year (and obviously will deserve mention on the new affidavit). Do I need to change my address of residence on the forms, and if so, who do I notify/how long will it take before we can send off our AOS application safely under this new address?

    Thanks in advance.

    Chris.

  4. Hi all-

My wife raises an interesting issue. The instructions for the Adjustment of Status form I-765 mentions that a notice of reciept from our form I-485 is to be sent along with the I-765. If we plan to send the two together in one big package, how can we provide such a reciept? It is a chronological impossibility. Are we thinking to much on this? Is the answer "just send them together and that will suffice that both processes are in motion"

    ?

    Thanks much!

  5. It's like this, OK... We were just trying to take the edge off, and I feel like people can't understand that. If some immigration officer is gonna give hassle, then I don't even wanna be in this fascisto regime in anyways...

What ever happened to a little 'you scratch my back I scratch yours?' Just hit me with some kind words and something to report back to this babe that's more hopeful than 'she's gonna get thrown in the clink when she gets to the interview! :P ' God, this chick is cryin' up and down over. Hook a brother up.

That way at least we can hit that bubbler and call it a night...ya' feel?

  6. Oh Dude... :( , this is really starting to bug me out bigtime, I swear she only took like one hit and it was at a party ...oh S$%#T, well maybe Canada is more chilled out than Egypt, but you'd think Jamaica was mellowest of all.

Aw man, can anyone just like, tell me with a code signal in a reply if they passed in Canada and did a doobie before the med test?

(the code is frogs legs, OK?, just type that in a reply so you don't have to out and admit it. Shhhh! I'm cool, don't worry, I'm not a Fed)

  7. One of my fiancees is terrified that the medical exam she took in Canada is going to reveal that she hit a tiny puff of the chronic a couple weeks ago. Is that cool, or are they gonna take her down to china town.

Many Thanks in advance for the input... :P

P.S. I told her there's no way they're going to waste their time "weeding" out folks that are just trying to be cool and get a little bit high  , but then again, they might, so... ideas?

  8. I AM SELF EMPLOYED, AND I AM WONDERING ABOUT THE PROCESS FOR THE AFFIDAVIT. I WILL PROBABLY NEED A JOINT SPONSOR, BUT ANYWAY, WHEN THEY ASK ABOUT THE NAME OF THE EMPLOYER AND WHAT BUSINESS... I AM NEW TO A PORTRAIT PAINTING CAREER... IT'S THE KIND OF JOB G.W. WOULD FROWN UPON I AM SURE, SO HOW DO I PHRASE IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE ONLY A LIMITED INCOME WITH IT SO FAR AND I AM NOT REGISTERED AS A BUSINESS OR ANYTHING AND HAVE NEVER FILED FOR INCOME FROM PAINTING YET (WAS A STUDENT IN ITALY AFTER HIGH SCHOOL FOR SEVEN YEARS SUPPORTED BY PARENTS AND WORKING FOR AN UNDER THE RADAR SCHOOL FOR EXTRA RENT MONEY)...

ALSO, DOES THE AFFIDAVIT ASSUME THAT THE FUTURE SPOUSE WON'T GET WORK IN THE NEXT THREE YEARS. I MEAN, WHEN IT ASKS WHAT CONTRIBUTIONS YOU WILL MAKE SPECIFICALLY, IT SEEMS LIKE IF YOU DON'T SAY "EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN" THEY WILL THINK 'OH SO HE THINKS SHE CAN JUST WAALTZ ON IN AND GET A JOB? NOT SO FAST!' BASICALLY IF YOU LEAVE THAT BLANK WILL THEY ASSUME YOU WILL BE HER GENERAL SPONSOR FOR EVERYTHING?

ALSO RELATED TO MONTREAL... WHICH EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT DO THEY REQUIRE AT THAT EMBASSY?

    THANK YOU ANYONE!!!
