Thanks hank. This is what we thought too...
Another question, are we supposed to put in my wife's new name now on the application, which has my last name? or stick with her maiden name as approved on her K1 Visa? We have applied for SS under her maiden name but due to the shutdown, we arent able to change her name to her new name. We however have the marriage certificate now which shows her name being changed. Can we proceed with the submission of the
I-485 without changing name on th SS card? What is the timeframe for us to submit the I-485? Does it need to be within 3 months?
Thanks again. You have been very helpful!

Im under K1-Visa and just got married. Filling up the I-485, did you have to submit the I-693 form or just a copy of the DS 3025? This seems to be confusing. Did you have to see a civil surgeon? Just checking out how you did.. Thanks!

uhmm my advice is no.. make sure you finish it at least a week before the interview date,,, medical takes 2 days at least. So i will say maybe start at least 10 days before... this was one of our concerns before but it did work for us. we finished our medical exactly just a week before the interview.

shouldn't be a problem. Just tell the CO that you applied for a students visa and was rejected. Dont even dare and try to hide anything from the CO. If you did and he finds out (and im assuring you he will), that's when he'll deny. It might not help you if you tell him that your agenda of filing a students visa before was to be with your fiance. Just tell him you applied for students visa and got denied. no need to expound. my fiancee applied for a tourist visa in 2011 and got denied too. we were aproved on our k1 aplication. just be truthful with all your answers on the interview. good luck!

My fiancee finished her vaccinations on a monday and did the interview the following monday and she got approved.. =) the letter says do it 5-7 business days before interview. I will suggest do it the earliest you can coz i heard if they dont have the medical results by interview date, you might be pushed out really far.

I ddnt know that there's a 6 am appointment. She finished her medical only last monday. Hope it wont be a problem. Good luck to you guys!

my fiancee is at 7:30... when did you finish your medical?

So sorry to hear that. Yeah i heard that problem before and some take months. My fiancee got hers in 2 weeks but prior to that it took her a month because shes got a common name. Hope the best for you. Yeah maybe you can go to the main branch and hopefully the turnaround is faster...

Hi. My fiancee's interview is set on august 5 but she hasn't completed her vaccinations yet because we are still waiting for her passport. SLEC wont allow her to do the vaccinations without the passport. We had a claim stub for the passport saying it should have been ready by july 24 but then until now they still dont have her passport. I've read that the medical needs to be done at least a week before the interview which is July 29 for our case. Anyone here who has done the medical just a few days before the interview? WIll there be any problem if its not at least a week? We were thinknig of just rescheduling our interview date to a later date but that might really push us out very far. Thanks for any comments...

They said you should be done for medical at least a week before the interview. We are having that problem because my fiancee's interview is on august 5 and her passport hasnt arrived yet. She can't do her 2nd day medical (vaccinations) without showing her new passport. She's done with the first day medical. DId you hear anything about having the medical so close to the interview date? Thanks

I would start calling the NVC after a week. Ask them if they have the MNL number ready. Mine got approved on june 19 and NVC number came out on june 29. July 1 they said they transferred the case to manila. Once you have your MNL number you could already pay the VISA fee, schedule for the interview and do the medical. Good luck!

Hi,
We received our NOA2 on June 19 and we got our MNL Case number on July 1. NVC said they already forwarded our case to the US embassy in Manila. Are we waiting for any kind of letter from the US embassy? Or could we get started with paying the K1 visa application thru BPI, do the medical and schedule the interview? Anyone has gone thru this? Any info will help... Thanks!
