  1. We haven't posted much. But we've been on this site a lot this year, reading every post. Marife was just approved for K1. I want to thank everyone here and the folks that started this site. Especially Hank, for the words of advice and calming my nerves last week. When we started this we looked into lawyers. We decided to save money and we'd do it ourselves. I am so happy right now. hehe

  2. Congratulations to the new 129F approvals and for those who got their case #s from NVC. We're hoping to get ours this week. We called NVC last night and we were told they do not have our paperwork yet.

Quick Q: For those who got their case #s, apart from calling NVC or DoS, did you (Petitioner) also get a letter in the mail informing that the file has been shipped to your fiancee/e's consulate?

    Thanks!

We didn't get a letter. I just called at around 3 weeks, then around 5 weeks.

  3. Thank you hakobrena..my fiance is also having a time with this..it does suck, but I will try and be patient and continue to stay positive..my timeline says it should have been adjudicated Oct. 9-18th but to no avail...le sigh!!!!

I wouldn't put too much faith in the numbers listed here. They are really only averages. CSC burned through a bunch of them really fast and it made the average date go down. Or that's what it looked like to me. When we initially made our timeline on here, it told us January. We got our NOA2, but we are also stuck waiting for CSC>NVC. It all works out about the same for most of us. On the bright side, I've been watching these timelines all year and things are moving faster in general for all of us.

  4. Almost the same as ours and we got NOA2 in 30 days. I only put one passport photo for each of the G-325a. I only scanned the picture page and the pages with stamps from my passport. I didn't put nearly as many screenshots of chats. I gave one or two examples of each, including my phone bill. I'm not sure if it was needed, but I did send a copy of my birth certificate. Good luck to both of you.

  5. Quick question for those august filers that have received your NOA 2, did any one you guys use a lawyer or did ye fill the paper work out yourselfs?

No lawyer here either. It's really simple. We almost used one. But it seemed like a waste of money. Everything I needed to base my application around was right here on VJ. There are many helpful people here to help with the stuff that isn't quite clear.

  6. Thanks everyone. I just had her make new ones and she is sending them again. I don't want to take any chances.

And thanks Darnell, I was thinking about doing that too. But wasn't sure if I should or not. My wife left me with our two kids nearly a year ago. The only reason I'm just now getting the decree is because we filed for divorce ourselves and it kept getitng kicked back. If they had accepted it initially, I would've been divorced 3 months ago. They make it hard on you if you don't have lawyers involved.

  7. yeah good.. just send a copy of that thing with the court stamp and the initials .. in my state it is a dissolution, yours is a decree? is that right? .. and you wont need to send the original at any time

Yeah, it's a decree in my state or decree of dissolution. I have been returned to the status of single. I'm legal and not trying to cheat the system. Just wanting to do things right. Thanks again stevie.

  8. Hello everyone. I have a quick question about filing. My ex-wife moved out last year, we weren't in a hurry to file for divorce at the time. After she moved out I met Marife and we got along very well. So I went to the Philippines to stay with her and her family on my birthday. Before I went there I tried filing the divorce papers, but incomplete info kept getting it kicked back. Anyway, we wanted to get all of our papers ready to go so we could send them out after the divorce decree was issued. The decree should have been issued around the 22nd of June. We thought we'd be safe and put June 30th on Marife's and my papers. So she could mail them to me ahead of time and I can get everything ready. But due to whatever reason the court didn't get to finalizing things until today, July 1st. I am wondering, should I have my fiance fill out new papers with a date later than the the 30th or if that one day is going to make a big difference.

Thanks in advance for the advice.
