  1. hello, im no expert at this.. but from what i can understand is that:

you either have to send a complete i-864 attaching a writing explanation why you didnt file taxes on 2013 and the copy of the IRS statement that supports the fact that you didnt have to file (for example unemployed or low income..)

or you have to file your 2013 taxes if you received any taxable income..and send those papers to nvc

thankyou PatchSC for your reponse. In 2013 i was not in America. I was on my reentry permit since 2012-2014. Anyway i submitted that explanation to NVC. Lets see what happen. Otherwise i will submitt not tax filling transcript from IRS to NVC.

  2. Hi, I am permanent resident and i fill petition for my wife. Last month i fill out I864. Today i got the check list 8 out of 10 are the common mistakes on the I864. But 2 of them are the serious one. They are looking for 2013 income tax return from IRS. I didnt fill any tax for 2013 because i was not in United State. I was in another country on the rentry permit from 2012-2014. I left united state on 2012 and then came back on 2014. During that period i was working for some other company, not in united state and my income is less than <$4000/year. Then i came back on feb 2014 and start new job in united state from april 2014. My income for 2014 is more than enough to support my wife petition but the check list which i received today they are looking for following 2 things:-

    1. A written statement indicating why you did not file 2013 Federal income tax returns.

    2. 2013 Federal income tax returns, IRS printout, or Letter 1722 issued by the IRS.

I am willing to give the written statement mentioned in Part 1 but really confuse about the Part 2.

    If anybody can advise?

    Really appreciate it.

  3. You must have income of $ 19387 per year for the family of two for the purpose of I-864. You can use your assets or savings and can include assets and savings of principal immigrant to make the difference in your income. You may need a co- sponsor but for purpose of this form co-sponsor has to be a relative who has the same principal address as the sponsor and is related to the sponsor as a spouse, adult child, parents or siblings. May be you like to Waite till Jan 2014 get a job which pays more then 20K a year and then send I-864.

well this is really disapointed cray5ol.gif , an a co-sponsor should be a friend?

  4. If you are permanent resident regardless where you reside you must file us tax return unless you are not required by law ie very low income etc.

You must declare all the income earn in or out of us. I don't think you can send I-864 electronically. Please provide more information? What did you between 2011 and Nov 2012?

i migrate to US in jan 2011 then back to pakistan on march 2011 after getting green card, i was full time student in university in pakistain till nov 2012, i also visited us in feb 2012 and got my reentry permit till feb 2014.

in nov 2012 i graduate from university of engineering

in 6 nov 2012 i got a job as engineer in pakistan with pay of ($190/month) uptill now i.e (oct 2013)

i plan to go back to state on jan 2014. In the mean while i apply for my spouse, the visa got approved now they demand i864, now i got confuse how to hill it out? ? ? ? ?

i really appricate if you help me out thanks

  5. Your case was really complex but all details can be found on the i864 instruction. Since you are currently working in Pakistan right now so your Country of Domicile will be questioned, you have to provide proofs and evidences to meet the domicile requirements. Your reentry permit can be of used in this situation but Im not sure if its enough...

    Please check page 3 Part 4 http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

Then with your question if you need to mention your income in Pakistan- you may or you may not. you can if you will be using this to establish your income that will support you and your family in US but should also prove that this should not be taxed by US. But of course 3500/year is not enough and way below the 125% of Poverty Guidelines. This is also provided on the link i provided. But its better not to mention though.... It would be better to look for a joint sponsor to help you out.

I almost went into this situation like yours but I decided to come back to US December last year so my residency wont be question, but then again, i did not apply for reentry permit when I went home last year.

thankyou so much for this reply. means i mention in domicle the "pakistan", and give them the copy of the reentry permit. Can you please tell me how to send these i864 to nvc through electronic processing?

Yes, I am viewing, and I not have any reply. Just a viewing..

you are kind enough to say this dancin5hr.gif

  8. You should target first the establishes companies that do the Civil Engineering services; it is good you passed the fundamental exam now you should target the

PE ( Professional Engineering License ) if you want to stay in North Carolina; perhaps you are proficient in AutoCAD or Solid Work or Micro Station and that will

be an A plus to find a job and them down the road you make your next step.

    Good Luck !!

is there any short courses in community colleges related these solid work or microstation? because i am well aware of autocad? And any useful certificated or short courses related civil engineering?
