This is interesting with the case transfer messages happening now.. this person reported an approval from their local office on 2/17. Neptune2011 can you by any chance check the WAC # on the 797 receipt and see what it says? What happened at your biometric appointment yesterday?

Hello there! There is no WAC # it's an EAC # on his 797 receipt.

My husband went ahead and did the biometrics again yesterday even though he'd already received a letter of approval from our local office. He was in and out in no time. This morning we received the emails and text notifications of approval and the case status online finally changed to "on March 1, we ordered your new card."

It has been a very long and slow journey. Next step citizenship, but we're going to have a rest before starting over with the USCIS again. :)

I hope all the other October 2016 filers that are still waiting get word soon too!!

  2. Hello there October 2016 filers!

My husband is Dutch and we filed for his ROC in October 2016. We had to go down to our local office last month to get a I-94 stamp because his driver's license was expiring and he would be unable to re-new it. His Dutch passport is also currently expired which is why he had to do the I-94 stamp.

Yesterday my husband received his  approval letter, however this letter is from our local office in Fairfax, Virginia, the same office we went to to get his I-94 stamp, it is not from the VSC which is where his ROC went to in October 2016. Our case status online still has the same blah blah blah message that's been there since they received his filing fee in October 2016. In addition today he received another biometrics letter showing an appointment for 02/28/18.

Has anyone had this happen? Does he still have to go to do the biometrics even though he has an approval letter stating his card will be received in 60 days?

I wonder why the local office sent this letter, did going to the local office to get the I-94 stamp prompt them to just finish his process for him rather than wait on VSC?

We are confuzzled! Any ideas or advice?

Thanks so much for any ideas or advice you might give us!

  3. I thought I would bump this up with the update that on the USCIS website for updates our case file now says:

The Card Was Ordered To Be Produced on January 12th!!!

I guess the letter was standard in regards to the file being moved from Lee Summit, Mo to Mount Laurel NJ, in our case our long wait is finally almost over.

Now to put the huge sign on the refrigerator so we don't forget to file for the removal of conditions at the exact right time.

Good luck to everyone who has been waiting so long, I do hope you'll be hearing the same good news soon.

    :goofy:

  4. Well I called the customer service number 800-375-5283 and went through their voice mail jail, the recording stated the current status of our file was it was in Lee Summit, MO....not true since the letter we received yesterday says it's in Mount Laurel, NJ.

I got to a customer service rep and she said she couldn't help me since I am not the applicant, she told me to have the applicant call.

I called my husband at work and gave him the information and he called and was told that our file was at the National Benfits Center, he told her we just received a letter that it was sent to New Jersey. She then told him that we just need to wait to hear from them on what information they need to approve the case.

How's that for informative and great service? They don't even know where our file is. I am very frustrated. My husband's work authorization card will probably need to be renewed before he gets his permanent resident card.

    :cry::clock:

  5. Thanks for the reply Pat80.

I think I will call them. It seems strange that they state that the Service Center did not receive sufficient evidence to approve our case and yet at the same time we didn't get an RFE!

I am thinking the reason we got this letter is that they are not going to waive our interview after all, which is fine by me, bring it on we have nothing to hide, they could have worded this letter better in my opinion.

I will update this page with what is going on in the event others start getting these letters after a service request.

Thanks for your good wishes, best of luck to you as well.

  6. My husband and I filed for his adjustment of status in February 2014. We received our notice of action 3/4/14.

He had his biometrics appt in March and got his work authorization card sometime in June 2014.

We received a letter of Potential Interview Waiver date 6/5/14.

We filed a service request on 12/12/14 for processing period outside of normal time.

Today a letter arrived that says:

Thank you for contacting the Mount Laurel, New Jersey Field Office of USCIS regarding your I-485. Your file just arrived here on December 8, 2014 because the Service Center did not receive sufficient evidence to approve your case.

Your I-485 is still pending consideration. We regreat that we are not able to give you a time frame for when we will complete the review. Thank you for your patience.

I am very confused as we sent our packet back in February, we didn't receive an RFE at any point. As far as I know we supplied everything required to process his application. We used this site and went over and over each step to ensure our packet contained everything needed to process the adjustment of status.

I can't find where others have received such a letter and now I am nervous that something is wrong but I can't begin to guess what it could be with such a vague letter.

Does anyone know anybody who recived a letter like this? Can anyone share some ideas of what this might mean?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

  7. Sorry for the late response Roos, I just saw your post.

My fiance' is Dutch and he did have his interview yesterday at the consulate in Amsterdam. He didn't get a vog and he was approved. WOO-HOO!

One thing that did change from his instructions is the stamps that you're told to bring. His letter said to bring a certain amount (I forget the exact amount, but he got exactly what the letter stated to bring) and it ended up that he needed a registered mail stamp so he had to run out after the interview and get that and bring it back to the embassy. He did say that the embassy could sell him the stamp but he left his wallet and cell phone in the car since he didn't want any trouble getting through security. The embassy needs to change their instructions...but all's well that end's well.

We are now waiting for the visa to be issued, I was checking and noticed that they usually issue the visa within two to three days which is quite fast so I hope ours goes that fast too :)

He's going to add a review to our timeline after he gets the visa so we can say accurately how long the visa took.

    Best of luck to you!

  8. I am hoping to find someone who has been through this process recently to help with the following confusion on Police Certificates for the Netherlands.

We finally got our case number from NVC for our K-1 Visa and are currently getting all the paperwork in order while we await word from the consulate in Amsterdam.

We have a bit of conflicting information in that on the Visa Journey site it says that:

Police Certificates are not (!) available to you and will be acquired by the Consulate from the Justice Department

    http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Netherlands&cty=Amsterdam

And on the instruction page for the Netherlands it says the following:

POLICE RECORDS: Each applicant aged 16 years of over is required to submit a certificate from the
appropriate judicial or police authorities from the country of the applicant’s nationality or current residence where
the applicant has resided for at least six months since attaining the age of sixteen, as well as from all other
countries where the applicant has resided for twelve months or more since attaining the age of sixteen. For
countries maintaining national police records, a certificate form the national l police or judicial authorities must be
submitted. For countries not maintaining national police records, a certificate must be obtained from each locality.
A police certificate must also be obtained from the police authorities of any place where the applicant has been
arrested for any reason, regardless of the length of residence. For Dutch police certificates click on: http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9694
We are confused now. Does he get his own certificate or does the consulate handle it? He has never been arrested so there would be nothing on his record. In following this link it talks about getting a certificate of good conduct but this isn't the same as the police certificate?
Any help on how you handled this would be appreciated.
  9. I got the NOA1 on January 28th 2012 (Vermont Service Center). I was transferred to TSC 6/21/13. I received a notification of RFE on 7/3/13. I received the hard-copy of the RFE on 7/9/13. I got the evidence organized and express mailed it back to TSC on 7/11/13.

I continuously wish I'd found this website when I filed the original petition. I left out the letters of intent. The RFE asked for more evidence of our meeting within the past two years as well. I am almost positive I did submit copies of our passports with the original petition but I didn't copy everything I sent so I can't be sure but I didn't include anything else but pictures of us together with a statement of how we met and an outline of our five visits with each other.

With the RFE I sent boarding passes, I didn't have any of mine but he had almost all of his, I had only a luggage tag from my last trip to him but I sent that. I sent copies of entire passports with stamps, bank statements showing atm withdrawls in each others country and ticket purchases, luggage claim tickets, ticket itineraries. I also included skype logs where we referenced our trips before and after, whatsapp logs where we referenced our trips before and after. Twenty pictures of us from all the trips combined with handwritten notes on the back noting the date and place of the picture. Two affidavits witnessing our being together and the love they see, one from my brother and one from his father. A really long letter outlining what I was sending and noting the evidence submitted....He made three trips to me and I made two to him since March 2012. I am very confident I sent ample evidence to support each of those visits...I just wish I had found this website before I filed the petition in January because instead of an RFE I would probably have gotten an NOA2...hindsight 20/20.

I am hoping the evidence I sent gets looked at quickly and we receive the NOA2 soon.

  10. Actually, there can be advantages to starting a relationship long distance, as strange at it may sound. For one, it forces you to communicate much more than a "normal" relationship would. There probably has been more talking and listening between my fiance and I in one year than many couples do in several years. We know all about and understand each each other in great detail as a result, and can virtually read each other's minds at this point lol.

Of course, the disadvantage is obvious, as we still are very much behind in the physical compatibility and understanding of each other than would be the case for "normal" couples who are at this stage of the relationship. But I'd rather be advanced in the above than this if I had to choose. As long as the love, compatibility, and care towards each other is there, the physical aspect will work out just fine.

That is so true for us as well....we have such a great mental rapport with each other. We connect at every level...physical being the most lacking due to distance only.

    You have a great point!

  11. Hi there,

I am fairly new to this forum and finding it very comforting to see so many going through the same process and stresses....kinship in our suffering, I guess.

Long distance relationships will kill you...just kidding of course.

My fiance is in the Netherlands and he is also 6 hours ahead of me. We skype all the time...we sleep on skype together...even when our schedules don't match we set it for auto answer and sleep together...corny....We also watch movies on skype....we read together...the same book at the same time. We text pictures of our meals to each other and pictures of what we're doing...if out and about. It's far from normal but it's the best we can do right now. We have been fortunate enough to have 5 visits with each other since March 2012 but we haven't seen each other since this past March.....we were hoping we'd be further along in the process but we are stagnant at NOA1.

It sucks being so far apart. I love him and miss him so much. We are anxiously awaiting our NOA2...we received NOA1 on January 28th and then no word until 6/21, when our file was transfered to Texas....now no new word.

    Anyway, I like your thread.

Take care and good luck :)

  12. Hi there, I am new to this site. I wish I'd found it sooner. I am a January filer as well. I received my NOA1 on January 28, 2013. I received an email just a few minutes ago that said my case is still under initial review and was transferred to another office for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. The message said they mailed a notice of the transfer and instructed me to follow any instructions on the notice. It says I will be notified by mail when a decision is made or if the office needs something from me. Prior to this notice the last time my file was touched was February 4th!

Just this morning I contacted my senator, Mark Warner. He sent me a release to sign and instructed me to send him a letter, the signed release and a copy of my noa1. I just got back from the fed-ex drop box.

It is frustrating to see petitions filed up to two months after my own petition are getting approved while mine sits in a stagnate state at the Vermont Service Center. I can only pray that something will start moving in a positive direction soon.

I am just sick over this wait. My fiance and I haven't seen each other since March and this just keeps dragging on and on with no end in sight.

    Signed, a frustrated neptune
