  1. FINALLY got my visa!

Although it was still listed as "in transit" on CSC and the last time scan on the loomis site was when it left the facility in Montreal last night, I decided to take a chance and drop by the pick up location and it was there! Ready to be picked up!

I had called customer service twice to check if they didn't any additional information but they could only see the same as the online tracking. One lady was kind though and told me it was meant to be a noon delivery and there was a chance it was there but that it just hadn't been entered in the system.

So just some friendly advice :) If the location is close enough to drop by, definitely worth a shot!

  2. I have emailed Montreal a couple of times with K1 questions; the first time was on July 31st and we didn't get a response until August 27th. The second time was September 19th with a response on October 1. They take FOREVER to answer questions, but at the very least they warn you that its going to take at least 28 days for an email. We have also used the Public Inquiry form at http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html which is supposed to take only 10 - 15 days.

    Good luck!!!

Ok! Thanks. I've sent the same message to both the email address and on the public inquiry form. I'm hoping I'll get my visa back before I get an answer, but who knows!

  3. Took 13 days to get ours back...hang in there.

It took 5 weeks for my husband to get his after being approved at the interview and told he would get his visa in the next ten days, no reason for the delay given other than administrative processing. Hope you get yours soon!

    Alright :( Thank you.

When I got approved I really thought the waiting would be over and I would finally be reunited with my fiance at this point.

What a joke, "We're approving you're visa! ... Buuuut you're not getting it juuuust yet"

  4. That's initially what I was afraid of, but this was posted on the Montreal Consulate website

THE EMBASSY AND CONSULATES ARE OPEN
    • The U.S. Embassy and Consulates General in Canada are open, and Consular and American Citizen Services are operating normally. For additional information please consult our websitecanada.usembassy.gov or travel.state.gov. For border information please check the Customs and Border Protection website atcbp.gov.

And some VJers with interviews Oct 1 already received their visa and passport.

  5. Yeah that's what I've picked up in some of the posts I've read...

I was born in Canada, my mom is also Canadian while my dad is from France (but of polish origin, polish last name). It would be a bit of a stretch if that was the reason why...
Also no scientific degree, just a business degree from McGill.

I had gotten the impression though that some of the people put in Administrative Processing because of last names, country of origin, or education/professional backgrounds weren't given the "Approved" status at the interview but instead told that they would be under administrative review... Which wasn't my case. But maybe it varies?

  6. Hello!

So I'm going a little nuts here waiting and just wanted to know if anyone had had a similar experience and how it had turned out. When they received their visa and why it took as long as it did.

I had my interview September 27th (ok so 2 weeks tomorrow) and everything went very well. I had all the documents needed and the talking part of the interview went smoothly. Within 5 minutes the officer there said "Congratulations I've approved your visa" and even added a "no surprise there" and then handed me the "Welcome to the United States" letter.

From what I've seen on VisaJourney, the majority of people have gotten their passports and visa back within a few days. People with interviews after me have gotten theirs back already!

But here I am, 2 weeks later and still nothing. I've checked my status on CEAC, I've checked CSC, I've called DOS, I've called the consulate (no answer)... I dont know what else I can do.
All the DOS can tell me is that the visa hasn't been issued yet and the status is "administrative processing" but that there is no RFE or anything else wrong as far as they can tell.

Anyone else go through this? Or know what I can/should do?

    Anything is appreciated.

  7. I just want to confirm, that when you all talk about going "administrative processing", this is after you have been approved at the interview?
That is currently my status as well, post interview approval. And they have my passport... It doesn't seem right that they keep some of your passports up to 9 months!?

  8. The consulate officer just said it would be ready within the next couple of weeks, which according to the "Welcome to the United States of America" letter he handed me is their standard processing times.
Looking at how most people (from the Montreal consulate at least) got theirs within less than a week, I was hoping I would have mine by the end of this week...

  9. Hi! I had my interview last friday, the 27th and was approved but I still haven't heard anything back... When I check my case status on https://ceac.state.gov/ceac this is what it says:

    U.S. Department of State
    NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
    Ready

    Application ID or Case Number:
    Case Creation Date: 27-Sep-2013
    Status Updated Date: 02-Oct-2013

Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days.
Has anyone else seen this? Or knows what it means? It seems odd since I've had my interview and was approved already :/

  11. I mailed mine on the 2nd, it got delivered on the 5th. I just got an email one hour ago with the packet 4. Until that point DoS was saying that it had not been received yet. So don't worry smile.png you were probably sitting in the same pile of unopened mail as I was.

Did you give them your email adress?

I did give them my email, and I just received Packet 4! :D So excited! Interview scheduled for September 27!

  12. Hello!

So after calling DOS I found out that my Packet 3 was sent out on July 29th, I decided not to wait until I received it (still haven't actually) and went ahead and sent them the documents required on August 1st.
I sent them out through Xpresspost and got the notice that it was delivered the following day.
    I used the following address:

    ATTN: Immigrant Visa Unit
    315 Place d'Youville Suite 500
    Montreal Quebec
    H2Y 0A4

However it still hasn't been "received" by the embassy according to DOS.

Is it possible that it would be in the mail room for so long? Or did I make a mistake sending it through Xpresspost?

Please let me know if any of you have recently sent your packet 3 and how long it took! Also if you sent it through Xpresspost

    Thank you!

  13. Hi Everyone!

We got our USCIS Approval on June 19th after over 6 months of waiting.

It's now been 3 weeks now and I've called NVC a couple of times they but still have no record of our petition in their system. I'm assuming that means it hasn't been received yet.

I'm started to get a little worried and I was wondering if anyone else was in this situation?
Also for the record we were part of the Dec filers that got transferred to the Texas Service Center in May. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Please let me know I'm not alone in this! And it anyone has any past experience and advice to share, it would be greatly appreciated!

  14. Hi everyone!

First post here, but I've been following this thread for a while now.
I was also part of the group that was transferred over to the Texas service center back in May. And listening to all of your stories has helped me keep it together knowing i wasn't the only one going through all this nonsense!

My NOA1 date is Dec 13 and it seems like a bunch of the approvals from yesterday have a NOA1 of Dec 12! So i'm keeping my fingers crossed :)

As for the case number discussion, my last numbers are 788, i saw today that 776 + 778 for approved yesterday! Maybe it's one of you... At least we know something is happening and things are starting to move along!

My thoughts are with all of you in the same boat as me, here's to hoping we hear something sooooon! :)
