  1. Yes it was issued according to them but I never got it in my mail box. So when I called them to verify why I hadn't heard from them regarding my AOS , they said that I was denied and they sent my a RFE( appeal) which had elapsed and that I failed to respond. On the way forward, I was asked to pay for a fee so as to receive a mail telling me why I was denied and what to do next. I did and they sent me a cd, which I played and it stated that the marriage was a sham and that for my best interest I should leave the states and head back to my home country before the start deportation proceedings. And I should hold on for a mail from them inviting me for a court hearing. Since then , I haven't heard anything from them. Meanwhile I couldn't renew my work permit as I was denied too. My concern now is that , since my kids petition had been approved before all this drama erupted , should we go ahead and pursue contact NVC to alert my home country to invite them for their visa interview since that is the only stage remaining in their petition process while I sort myself out.

  2. Hi. On one of my visit to the us I fell in love and married my husband , a United States citizen. We are applied for an adjustment of status from B1/B2 visa to a residential permit. Also, my husband filed for my kids in my home country to join us in the states. My kids petition gained prompt attention and they were approved while my AOS was still in the process. An affidavit of support fee was requested for my kids petition and we immediately paid it. How ever a response came regarding my AOS and I was denied as the felt the marriage was a sham and I missed the appeal date because the appeal notification never got to me and by the time I got back to uscis , they said they appeal time had elapsed. At this point, what is the next step to take ? Also , should we go ahead and contact NVC regarding my kids petition since they've been approved already?

  3. Help. I am confused. We sent all the original documents to NVC that was required. My husband has been insisting he still needs to bring the originals with him. I kept telling him no but then I read the letter we recieved again and it states. "Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are

still required to bring the original document to the visa interview." Do we need to spend the money to get certified copies of everything to bring with him even if they already have the originals? UGG. This is making me crazy. We only have 11 days left til the interview I dont know if I will make it that long with my sanity Thanks again for your help.

. On the 27th that I had my interview , there was this man that had this similar issue. Almost all the documents they requested from him , he gave them photocopies as he told the m that he sent the originals to the states. Even his police cleareance too was a photocopy that he presented. He explained to them politely and they were ok with it. He was actually approved. Best wishes to him.

You need to back to the embassy and plead with them, do not leave until they either give you another date that is very soon or see you. Stay there until you speak with someone. My fiancé was late to his interview yesterday 11/25 and after reading online and talking to some friends I made him stay and plead. He got in line several times after only to be thrown out twice. But after a while the security guard told him to wait under he tree. He waited and was let in and got approved for his visa. Stay and plead, don't be rude, tell them you already have wedding plans. Don't leave and please don't wait for an email response. If I were you I would go back up there and just plead until they see you.

Hey guys !!!!!! God has done it for me. !!!! Got approved today. Lol. After I came back from the embassy yesterday I knelt down and cried to God.I fell asleep while praying still with my suit on and the songs of praises in my phone was on. I call woke me around 1.47pm and this mail voice told me that he just saw the email of rescheduling that we sent and he was touched. He asked me to come for an interview today and he sent me an email to confirm my appoinment for today. Got there today around 5am for a 7am interview. Just like a movie , I got approved. Who said there is no GOD?

  5. I am devastated guys. Its like a dream to me. I came into lagos 2days for the interview. Stayed with my friend residing in lekki area of lagos. I was scheduled for a 7am interview. Left the house around 5.45am only to hit the heartbreaking traffic. Got to the embassy around 7.10am and I wasn't allowed in. I was to send an email to embassy for a reschedule.Honestly I cannot guaranty that I'd be able to extract another day off from work to attend another interview. Any clue on how long its going to take to get another date?

  6. Sorry, it seems I offended you (again) in trying to cover all bases regarding the posters question. I'm not sure why you show such bitterness in my comments or why you take such offense to them. I find it VERY hard to believe you haven't met a Nigerian family with more than 6 children in over 30 years. MYY goodness. I used to think you were pretty informative and experienced considering the hoops you had to jump through to bring your spouse to the States, but now I question your accuracy in what you say. 30 years really? hmmm....

  7. Please I will need your candid advice on this. I have my k1 interview on the 26th of nov here in lagos nigeria. My fiancee is a final year medical student who will be graduating in may 2014. That is to say she hasn't been working and only depends on student loan. However,I have an uncle in.the states who promised to sponsor us. He earns 70,000dollars annually. He also promised to furnish us with 2000dollars monthly for six months. Is that ok ? Any red flag?

  8. Hello all! I'm a little worried here. My fiancee filed in a petition for the K1 Visa since January 2013. However, we are yet to hear anything from them as regards to the next step.I'm losing my patience as I really miss her so much and considering going for a B1/B2 visa. Anyone experiencing same or experienced ? Please I'd welcome any advice on this.
