Random question. When I get my K1 and get married in the US, do I have to stay in the US for any reason before I make the change of status and can I go for example on my honeymoon to another country?

I applied for the K-1 Visa and it was sent to Vermont Center on Jan 22 of 2013, However, 2 weeks ago they told us it was transferred to Texas for jurisdiction or something. We are almost at 180 days from the beginning of the process, does the whole 180 days start again after this transfer or can we expect a prompt reply in the next month? I'm from Argentina, my fiance is in West Virginia.
