  1. For ur interview u should wear something that u would wear to a job interview something professional. As for ur husband they know he has tattoos bc of his medical exam.

To be honest, my husband's medical exam was really minimal. It was far less than we expected to be done. The civil surgeon who performed his exam was one suggested to us by our lawyer. I don't know if that had something to do with it, or if that's what usually happens? It was a very quick "exam" and nothing was physical. They took blood and did the tb skin test. Besides that, I'm not aware that they really did much else. Either way we received copies of what was sealed to be sent in.

  2. Hi, new here.

Not sure if I'm posting in the correct location. But hopefully someone can help to ease my mind about things.

My husband and I have an interview at the USCIS office in Milwaukee on the 19th. He had a petition filed on his behalf in 1996 and we are able to adjust his status from within the US (thankfully!)

We have been married since 2009, I have a child and we have one together. Our lawyer isn't too concerned about them seeing that we have a real marriage. Our only hurdle, at this point, is his criminal history. When he was in school he didn't have the greatest of friends. At the age of 17 he got a disorderly conduct, later "while dangerously armed" was added to it. It is on his adult record because he just wanted a ticket and to get out of the juvenile detention center. In the disposition it states that there were a group of him and his friends, police came because of a concerned neighbor and in a vehicle they found bats, brass knuckles etc. I guess the boys told the officers that they were in a gang and were basically showing off trying to be cool.

Well, obviously this has come to bite my husband in his behind. Now we must convince them that he is not and was never a gang member. That he just had a couple of friends, in school, who were. I'm finishing up in getting letters vouching for his good character. But it seems as if no one is quite sure in what to include. Help? I said specific examples. But what do they want/need to hear?

I'm completely nervous. I guess that should be expected though. I just hope with everything that I have that it comes out approved. Why does this have to be such an all or nothing thing?

Also what to wear to the appointment? I have nothing. I have to shop. My husband must wear a long sleeved button down, as his arms are tattooed (nothing gang related, cartoon characters and clowns actually).

Any advice or input would be much appreciated. TIA

    Kayle
