I meant I have been MIA from the VISAJOURNEY. since I have been trying to deal with the issues with my family. But now we are stuck. So there is no way that my husband will get into trouble?
I called the cops. and they said a similar thing: that I will be asked, proof will be needed and that if my family makes a false report, my family will be the ones under government blame.
I need to move somewhere far away
-
okay, So i don't have much time to explain. but i have been in MIA for a while since my husband moved to the United States.
My familyy doesn't approve of him and they keep saying that they will report him to the Immigration services or to the cops. Just because they don't want me to be with him they keep telling me to leave him or else they will report him. I don't know the laws. Can they accuse him of anything? Can my husband be arrested simply by their false accusations?
Help me!!

CEAC keeps updating but still in AP, is that good news?
Thanks
Hi,
My husband was approved in August. Although, we were not in AP, like most people in Afghanistan, I can for sure say that you can keep waiting. Sometimes its good news that CEAC keeps updating because that usually means someone is working on your case. But there are stories where the person says the CEAC keeps updating but nothing changes from Administrative processing. This AP is difficult but inshallah everything will be done. You can private message me if you want.

I am sorry sis but its not necessary to post the same topic over and over. I think you have already been approved 3 times Now! in different names
Wow that's a bit rude. I think this person is hopeful BECAUSE he or she believes that there may be someone in Visa Journey.com that can provide answers. No need to be rude and ignorant. We are all here to help each other. I know I may have only been here for 3 months or so but I am so glad I was. Everyone provided answers and was helpful. I am very lucky I found VisaJourney. You don't have to be rude. If you don't want to help someone, no need to be rude.

Hey Meera,
I thought I had written a follow-up message to that, but I guess not. Yes, on the website it said issued, and the Embassy even called him to come pick up the visa. As he arrived they said they couldn't find his visa, and had him sit for over 3 hours. After waiting 3 hours they told him that there must have been some mistake, because his visa is not ready. They said to give them a couple of more weeks, and as you can see it is nearly 6 months later. After many phone calls and emails I find out that there was a glitch in the system, and was showing visa's as issued when they were not. He had already began packing, withdrew money to get his plane ticket right after he got his visa. So, we were pretty devastated. Next time I will not be able to breathe easy until he is in my arms.
Wow. I am so deeply sorry for this. AP is a hole, no one knows how long or why it lasts. May God be with you and your fiance. I will pray for you.

Well, I just called the Department of State a few days ago. As always, they could not give me any information. He said that they do not need anymore documents, and that it is still processing. I was so hopeless. I asked him what is the longest case he has ever seen, and he told me I didn't want to go there.
I know that was kind of a stupid question, as I know some never come out of AP. My fiancé has been in AP since August of 2012. I know that because of where my fiancé is from they have to do additional checks, but he worked with high ranking members of the Army. He of course had to go through continuous background checks just to be able to do that. I just wish I knew what exactly is holding up our case. I assume if it was because of lack of proof of our relationship, they would have already contacted us asking for more proof. Anyways, this is more or less just a vent post. I haven't seen my fiancé in almost 3 years. I just hope he is here with me soon. Is anyone else in a similar situation of being in AP for over a year? With no RFE's
This one?
I thought you got visa already?

Isn't this your post? From a couple of months ago?
"After 8 months in AP our visa status was finally changed to ISSUED! My fiance's visa will be ready this week! I almost had a heart attack. I called my fiance' right away crying. I really thought I was dreaming:) I want to say thank you to visajourney.com and all of its members. I could not have done this without the resources and feedback that you all provided. Good luck to everyone on their visa journey. <3
I am confused. I thought your fiance got visa already?
Confused. Please explain. Did he not get visa that time you wrote he got visa?

After 3 long years, we can be together, finally. Even though my husband's interview was canceled due to the embassy shut downs that took place in over 20 countries, I can't believe he has visa.
My husband said that he couldn't believe it. At the interview he himself even asked the CO if there was any administrative processing and the CO answered that the interview cancellation was a long enough wait.
They told my husband that to pick up his visa on the 20th. But he said he got a call on his cell phone at 3:30 in the afternoon to pick up visa TOMORROW before embassy closing time. Sooo happy.
I still need to write interview review but haven't gotten the chance since I am taking a few things to our new place.
THank you VJers!!!!
I will definitely keep returning to learn about other's processes.
Love you all
-
The interview is face to face, and according to my fiancé the man was nice, but I'm sure every situation is different. After the interviewer read a couple of hand written letters I had written to my fiancé, he told my fiancé that I must really be in love with him.
My fiancé got really positive vibes, and here we are almost a year later in AP. If your fiancé knows you, your family, and your situation at home then there is nothing to worry about. Be prepared to spend several months/year in AP, regardless of how well you think your interview went. Best of luck to you dear.
You're still in AP? No news yet?

Today my wife went for her interview. They Interview was easy. The normal how did you meet, has your spouse visited, where do you work, ect..... Nothing harsh. Just (Make sure) your documents are in order. They asked her to bring back her (Unabridged) birth certificate. If you don't have it go get it. The one we have doesnt say abridged or unabridged, so my wife is headed to the Home Affairs office tomorrow to get it. Basically we have her visa after we give them the birth certificate.
Congrats. Much Blessings to you and your wife.

Hi there,
So, as I have noticed on my husband's interview letter they have only place his first name and middle name.
For some odd reason, his last name has disappeared. And when I called NVC to clarify and ask why the name has changed, they told me to not worry about it now because if I inquire about the name now, it may slow down my case and interview.
But now I am getting worried, because I am afraid that my husband's name will stay like that (first name, middle name) and no last name. I was planning on changing my name when he arrived here, but I don't want his middle name as my last name. It sounds awkward. Has anyone been through this or have any advice on this issue?
Should my husband mention at his interview about his name or no? Should he just say why they have deleted his last name?
Any advice and information will be appreciated.
Thank you
Regards

Hey, I have received an interview date but I don't know how to add it to the list. Someone help.

Hi VJ,
As my husband's interview is approaching, we both are getting more nervous.
Someone told me that the interviews in Afghanistan are a bit different. The interviewee is taken into a room (like when police interrogate) and the questions are asked. I thought the interview was supposed to be face to face.
Does anyone have info? Or is it like this in other countries?Let me know

Hi all,
So my husband has an interview on August 4th in Kabul Afghanistan. He and I both called to make an appointment for the medical exam but they keep telling him that he can come on August 5th. This confuses me because the NVC website says that the medical examination has to be completed PRIOR TO THE INTERVIEW.
They say that it will be fine. But I doubt. I know how long the embassy takes to process documents and say that we do agree to go after the interview, it will only slow down the process of obtaining the Visa.
Is there anyone that has experienced this? And, anyone have advice as to what I should do?
Regards

Hello everybody,
Please forgive my ignorance as I do not know a great deal about this process and therefore seek your help here. I am a male, a US citizen and live in NY.The lady who I want to marry lives in Pakistan. Can someone please advice which route (K1 or CR-1 or any other) is preferable in Pakistan. For us, We want to opt for the route that takes the least amount of time
Kindly share your experience!
cr-1 visa is better/reliable

congratulationssssssssssssssss Meera jaaaaaaan, please keep me in your prayers as well, we havent heart nothing yet
and wish to hear about his interview as well
. i miss him soo much and how did u get the interview?? did u call NVC??? or did the consulate call ur fiance???? goodluck on his interview and they usually put males in AP but not to worry it wont take that long in sha allah
Thanks, jaan. I will. I was wondering where I can message you so I can ask if you received any news. So, its good to hear from you. I emailed the embassy once more and my husband called the US embassy in Afghanistan asking about it. After a week, they sent me email that I have been scheduled. I will for sure let you know how the interview goes once it has passed. Insha'alla he will get approved for visa. I also asked the embassy yesterday whether they can tell me chances of my husband getting placed in AP. And the consulate officer simply said, "If you follow all directions and your answers at the interview match what has been on the applications and the embassy knows that you are not lying or your case is not fraud, you won't be placed in AP" So I will be praying. I have my cousin here in America who got a fiance visa for her fiance and her fiance was here within 6-7 months. It was so surprising for me because I thought it would at least take about a year or so. But, please keep in touch. So we can update each other.

hi any body could tell me...my wife applied i 130 at april 30 its been 2 n half monthss n still didnt get noa 2 ...so after how long we ll get noa 2 ?
Hi
Usually, the USCIS is quick with those responses. I sent my i-130 in September 2012 and was sent to NVC by December 14 2012. So mine took 3 months. I would call them on a weekly basis to see where in the process the case is. Its always good to keep calling them just to check. But you may be hearing from them in the next month or so.

Congrats Meera Jan on getting the interview date... Are you planning on going to the interview with your husband? I think that with a CR-1 you can attend the interview. I wasn't able to attend because we were getting the K1 Visa...
Now about the AP process... from what I have been hearing and what the counselor told my fiance after his interview is that all males get place on mandatory AP from Afghanistan. I think that when your family members came that was 15-30 years ago and things have change since then... now as far as the females they usually don't place them on AP only a few will get placed on AP... But all males have been getting placed on AP.
My fiance had his interview on the 29th of May and he was placed on AP and we don't know how long it's going to take... Hopefully it won't be that long and hopefully you guys will not have to wait that long either..
Again not to take away from you day... Just think one day at a time and Insha'allah everything will be ok...
Take Care
Myra
What? Hahaha. No. My cousin applied for a Cr-1 visa in November 2010. His wife came here by April 2011.
So no, they DID NOT apply 15-30 years ago. I said that their families have been here for a while.
Sorry, but you're mistaken. Also, one of my close family friends applied for a FIANCE visa in January 2011 and by January 2012, her fiance was here. And all of this was from Afghanistan. So once again, no it was not 15-30 years ago.

Congrats on your interview date Meera! On the pdf document that the NVC sent you about your interview there should be a checklist of documents. Carry all originals that weren't submitted to them. Organize your files in packets. Basically carry a copy of ALL paperwork sent the to the NVC so they can give you back your originals. Include your appointment letter, copy of DS-230,2 passport photos, massive evidence proving your genuine relationship. And a novel to read while waiting
This list is off the top of my head so just clarify from other posts on here. All the best, mine is on July 29th.
WOW.
Thanks for all that info. I didn't know most of which you have written. Thanks so much. I will definitely organize them since that seems like a much better idea than what I had planned,

Meera...congrats!!
Alluneedislove...I have not seen my husband for same amount of time as u (1 year & 7 months). I am a feb 2012 filer. My question is y haven't u gotten an interview at this point? Did u file at later date?
I filed in September 2012. You filed in Feb. 2012? That's odd. you have not received your interview date yet? Do you know if it has been transferred to the embassy, yet?

Hey,
Thanks for the update. I will check that out. But honestly, I don't know why people assume that Afghanistan will always get AP. I have two friends here, who had their spouses come on a CR-1 Visa. They are US Citizens and been living here since the past 15-30 years. And they had no Administrative Processing.
I have a cousin who lives in New York. He applied for a petition of a fiance visa and she was here within 6 months. So I don't know why people keep scaring me with those types of info and details. On my last post, which I was asking about how long it may pass before I get an interview date, someone said, "oh your case is Afghanistan. That usually takes more than a year."
And, look, what happened! An interview within 2 months of receiving notice that my case was complete at NVC. TWO!!! ONLY 2!!! And they said, more than a year on my post.
I'll ask around about AP in Afghanistan.
BUT
I'm happy and its a happy day.
With all due respect,
Meera
Congrats!
August 4 is a Sunday - Check to make sure that date is correct. Good luck!
Thanks. They work on Sundays in Afghanistan. And on their calendar it falls on a Saturday. The only days they don't work in Afghanistan is Thursday and Friday. That's like their weekend.
Thanks, though.

I have been asking for advice and information from everyone on here and close family/friends/relatives who have experience in this.
I got my interview on August 4, 2013. Unbelievable!!!
God knows how long I have been waiting to reunite with my husband. I can't wait to see him and be in his arms.
Can anyone advise me on the interview process, questions, and documents that may be required/

Hi all,
Urgent help is needed:
I have a nikkah khat which is the marriage license in my native country of Afghanistan and where I got married. I sponsored my husband here and I was wondering if we need to get a California marriage license by any chance? I am assuming that our native marriage license is valid.
Please let me know ASAP
