  1. Ok this is my situation, yes I know I have posted about this before but there is something else I need help on, I moved to the states in Nov 06 and got my card in June of 07, then a few months after that we decided that the marrige was not going to work for various reasons and we thought that divorce was the best option, now I had a good job and was in two minds whether to stay or come back to the UK, I choose the latter after realising that I had most of my friends over there so I left and reurned in Feb of this year, so my questions are first off as my card does not expire until June 09 could I reurn to the US on it and if so would I gain entry or be refused due to the fact that I am divorced also can I reapply for my 10 year card even though I am no longer resideing in the US although I am considering returning there as I have been told that my former employer will hold my job open for me, secondly if my card expires and I wish to return to after that what options do I have, let me add at this stage that I had to do 601 waiver as well, also we got married in Canada so all my stuff was done through the Vancouver consulate, not that straight forward so I need some assistance thanks.

  2. Ok here is the deal, I did all my stuff got my green card but alas my marriage didnt work out so I have returned to England but at some stage I would like to return to the states to visit so what do I need to do to keep things above board? Also another issue I had was I went through the 601 wiaver process will this complcate things even more,my green card expires next year but would like to go back before it runs out, although I dont want to get turned back at the airport, can anyone help, thanks

  3. Ok I got a temp Ead about 3 months ago and started looking for work I checked things out on here and read all about how you got exploited for the first few months, low wages,no benefits, etc, so I was a little dismayed but not being one to sit on my ####### I was applying for about 20 jobs a day,and I got several offers,I was about to accept one job when I got a call from a firm asking me to go for an interview, now with all the applications I had sent I could not remember anything about this firm but I went for the interview anyway and Yo Ho got myself a nice job pretty much the same as I was doing back in the U.K.(construction management) excellent money, full benefits, company credit card, truck allowance etc so you can land a good job if you keep at it,I now have my green card and am settling in quite nicely, got my first paycheck in nearly 8 month so that was a good feeling

  4. Ok this is what has happened so far,USCIS have cocked up my biometrics for 485/765 due to the fact that with my AOS I had my interview first and have got bio next week, then EAD well have got nothing at all no NOA not one piece of paperwork,so calls helpline? up oh dont worry we will put in service request for you it will take 45 days to receive your EAD ,anyways after I get off phone I stared to think about it and decided to call up again and explain that over 90 days have passed etc so calls them again normal service oh sorry cant do anything as you are in service request you will hear from us in 30 days,so realising I was banging my head against a brick wall with these clowns,I arranged an info pass @ Seattle where in the space of 15 minutes and the help of IO Scott matter sorted,go in tomorrow for bio and temp EAD will be with me in 7/10 days, sweet, but what Iwould like to know is this I have my AOS bio next week and was wondering if I could do them together tomorrow as I've had my AOS interview and been granted(after namecheck of course) can anyone help?

I have to say that the people @ Seattle are some of the most pleasent and helpful I've come across in this immigration journey

  5. Ok basically I've been waiting 103 days now for my EAD and from what I can gather it will still be another 20-30 days as the USCIS have messed up,my wifes son and girlfriend where staying with us and when they left they ticked the wrong box on the mail forwarding form and it cancelled mail to us,anyways resolved that but letters from USCIS was returned as undeliverable so as soon as we knew what was happening contacted them and resolved the situation. But as time passed it was still displaying the same message on their website so we called the phone number several times and told them about it they basically said not to worry bout it.So I eventually got a service request 10 days ago and told my EAD would be with me no later than 45 days,so I says what about my biometrics?.........silence then oh you not had them done yet.............er no says I .........Oh then that is what the letter would have been ,anyways I was told to make an infopass at my local office and get an intrim EAD issued to me so what I need to know is are they issued there and then and how long do they last for,any help please,thanks....................Dont you just love those helpful? sloths @ USCIS

  6. Ok what Im looking for here is some help in the job market,Ive started firing off my resume but want to know if it is harder to get a start with you being from another country and having all your work experience there,Im from UK and have a background in construction management which is what Im aiming to carry on doing, any help, thanks

  7. So basically he served 4 months in prison for concern in the supply drugs?(Ive never heard of a charge like that)and from what you say he wasn't guilty but only pled guilty because the police pressured him into it,is your lawyer in the U.K. or U.S. cos U.K. lawyer would be much more use as he will have a better understanding of the UK law and will be much easier and quicker for you, also the fighting charge was it an assault or something more serious like actual bodily harm, grevious bodily harm or affray as that will have bearing on your case also, and yes I did a 601 waiver so Ive done my homework on the subject

  8. So we got there waited bout 15/20 minutes after interview time then our officer came out and called us in ,did the swearing in bit and she reminded us that we where under oath, asked a couple of questions then we all just chatted away, she was telling us about how her husband was a pilot and asked me about my motorcycling it was all pretty relaxed and after bout 25 minutes she say I'm going to approve you but you are in a name check so we get our name check lists updated every Friday so as soon as your name comes up we will go ahead and issue your card and that was that, absolute easy peasy lemon squeezy..........although she did warn me not to lie as she could tell.............but then again she never asked me much anyway, just remember to keep eye contact and not look at the floor or ceiling as they are red flags to them, all I can say if you are going through Seattle as long as you are honest it will be a breeze for you.........just need EAD to arrive and then go get earning!!!!!!!

  9. Ok we have our interview in Seattle(Tukwila really) and what I would like to know is will they ask for stuff like airline ticket stubs, hotel reservations etc?also has anyone who is a bit older like in there 40s/50s gone for the interview just wondered if it is any different for older couples as opposed to younger ones,we have plenty of evidence of course but I was thinking that they might not be as severe with us because of our age,but am prepared for the worst.

  10. Used a lawyer for k3 but ditched her after that she did jack ###### really cept take money off us,did the 601 with a lot of help from my wife,I was pretty worried about it but @ interview the guy was quite relaxed bout it all told me he had seen a lot worse get approved,I seem to recall some where on here there was even someone who had killed someone got a waiver(cant remember exact details)used to ride enduro back in the U.K.,hence the KTM bit ............ahh a good curry........MMMMmmmmm that would do!

  11. I had several much more serious crimes on my police cert and did the 601,which was granted, even though I thought it wouldnt be as I had prison time(twice)and violent assault.but when it came down to it all the USCIS was bothered about was the violent assault, even though it was 24 years+ ago and everything was spent in the U.K. it was like being on trial again.

I think you can apply to Scotland Yard?to have them review your crimes and they can remove them(not 100% sure though)Ive heard of people on here applying for there police cert and getting it back with minor stuff on it and major stuff not there, hope you can get it sorted..............oh, send me some proper fish and chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I have my AOS interview next week but dont have my bio app till 1st May,has anyone else had this occur?Ive called the helpline and they told me to go ahead with the aos and while Im there show the bio letter, both are due at the same office,Seattle, and it shouldnt cause any hold up in process,Ive already had my bio done 3 times as I went through a 601 so maybe things are ok,also Im still waiting for EAD which is due in next 45 days or so they told me,any help?

  13. Right this is what he will need to do first off apply to Scotland Yard for his police cert, costs a tenner and is supposed to take 40 days but it dosn't mine took 54 to get to me,that will show exactly what is held on the police computer, although the way CMT works is they look at the offence not what happens in court,so lets say someone got caught stealing that is theft and under the theft act I think it carries a maximum sentance of 5 years prison, although in most cases they would only be fined but the way it works is the max time for the offence you see,so like fraud will have a max sentance as does ABH.Also it dosnt matter how long ago they where commited either.

So you will need to file 601 but dont get too stressed about it,I did it with the help of my wife and I had a way worse record than your man and Im here in th U.S.
