  1. Thanks Eric for responding I have been calling them and finally they moved the i130 to my local field office and they said I might have interview if needed but is it normal for petitioner to attend the in the usa? I thought they only interview the applicants!

No problem. The interview is after they send the case to the NVC and you have filed DS-260 Immigration Visa Application. Once they approve the application, they will give you an interview date. Generally only the visa applicant goes to the interview, but the petitioner can go as well if they want to.

    Finnally, i got approved!

On April 17, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

    Pd: may 13 ,2013

Transfer to Nebraska Dec 11, 2013

    Good luck all!

    Congratulations!

  2. I'm confused!!!! I checked my case status today and saw this .... But I didn't even change my name? What is this :( I'm confused && scared :(

    Initial Review

On April 18, 2014, your name was updated relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

I wouldn't worry about that. I had the same thing.

  3. Eric when did your i130 transferred and how long the gap was in between transferred and interview? Mine i130 got sent to wrong local uscis office but they fixed it and immigration officer said she will receive the file by middle of next week and then I will have to wait for my interview!

I was just wondering how much longer its gona take its been 11 months since I filled i130 for my husband!!!!!

Our case was transferred on December 13, 2013.

From transfer to interview is 4 months and 18 days. USCIS received our I-130 on May 15, 2013.

I recommend calling the NVC at least once a week to find out the status. That's what I did.

  4. Just got this email this morning:

    Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing
of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner
and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment
until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of
the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at
    the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

    Sincerely,

    Director
    National Visa Center

    Anyone else get this email?

I'm hoping it means it will move faster now. My family have been separated since March 2013.

  5. Haven't even heard from NSC and we are a few days away from the 60 days since transfer ... I wonder how much longer till this whole thing is over?!

Yeah, Mine got to the NVC, we hired an attorney last week to make sure nothing gets messed up in the last leg. Waiting for the instructions packet to get here so we can get the police certificate. And the IV application bill isn't payable yet. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

  6. I just read this article about a Korean guy who is a professional video game player. It said he got an athlete visa from our government to come here and play.

This guy can get a visa to play video games in our country, but it takes forever to get a visa for our families? This is utter bullshit! Am I right?

  7. Hey everyone.

This is my first post to the forum. I am also a May filer.

I was just wondering how many May petitions have been approved so far. I just got an email saying "On December 13, 2013, we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed."

I was wondering if anyone has any advice as to how quickly this might mean it will be approved.
