Just would like to thank everyone on here for the last 19 months this has been a very useful guide and reference for me to keep me sane and to get me through to complete my f2a application successfully. Been tough times where I didnt think the day would come that I would hear those words of being approved but the day finally came and Im happy to say all went well. Smooth sailing thanks to fellow vjers experiences nd to those who answered my few questions I posted on here and for Saylin's useful guide and charts of the us consulate in montreal.
once again thank you, I can finally exhale!

Waiting on packet 4, but would really like to know when they are scheduling for right now. Anyone know?
I received email on July 29 for interview in Montreal on Sept 16.

I called NVC today to get clarification on a checklist and my fellow vj'ers where right in regards to electronic process and the scan photos, to just bring to the interview. Anyways during the call the operator at NVC informed me that my case is complete as of july 2, 2013 however need to wait for visa to become available since currently they working on oct 8 2011. Does anyone know how long I would have to wait for a visa number to be available? all other timelines via saylin's guides have been accurate for me. So I just wanted to know if I would be waiting months or weeks......

They are exclusive of each other in terms of being reviewed.
took 10 days for my IV package to be reviewed and 7 for my AOS package. It varies.
Even through EP they still tell you "20 business days"
FYI - you will get a checklist saying that you need to bring the 2 passport photos to the interview. You do not need to resubmit them just that they don't accept electronic sending of those photos.
thank you for the heads up

Stupid checklist made me feel so stupid. >=[
I probably would have been stumped too so no worries

I submitted my supporting documents for DS260 a week ago and finally submitted package for I-864 today. Does NVC review one without the other or would they be waiting for both packages to be submitted before reviewing anything that has been sent.

So I'm still a little confused..I've gone through the wikis for the NVC stage (including Montreal beneficiary) and have seen the flowchart... one says to do the OPTIN email and while another says to wait until fees are paid or until sending the DS-261(there could be a delay?).
Which do I submit first, the OPTIN or the DS-261?
Do I need to wait until on is accepted to submit the other and/or wait until the invoices are available to be paid? It seems we wouldn't even be invoiced unless they receive the DS-261.
Thank you for your help!
Normally we would just submit them without a second thought but we're on a bit of a time constraint and don't want to cause any unnecessary delays.
No do not wait for fees to be paid. You can go ahead and OPTIN that was one of the first things I did before receiving additional instructions from NVC. The ball is pretty much in your court by taking the lead during the NVC process. And once the DS261 is available then go ahead and fill it out and submit on your time not NVC. In my case I received OPTIN confirmation email enrollment after DS261 and AOS fee became available.

The custody doesn't change. Just the access. My lawyer had suggested the letter as a supporting document. Technically we can still manage the access arrangements. I had always misunderstood the term "custody" until we actually got divorced. Custody is about the decision-making and such. Access is about the time spent together. I had always thought custody meant the visitation arrangements. My lawyer is on maternity leave which sucks because I don't really want to spend the money on a brand new lawyer at this time! I'm really not sure what to do. I think the letter should suffice. But I also don't know if I should send it to NVC or just wait for them to ask for it. They may not bother, I don't know. I'm worried now.
Im in a similar situation that you were in during your NVC process. What eventually happened?, did NVC ask for the letter or did you end up submitting it beforehand.

Ok. thank you
I ended up getting the IV invoice available online june 7 so just a week later of waiting patiently.

awww electronic filer okay well its only been a week. you can always call NVC see whats up.
Ok. thank you

Nope the IV and AOS are two separate paths.
When did you send/email your DS-3032? Once received and accepted is when your IV Bill is invoiced. Seems to be taking about 3 weeks now.
I sent the Ds261 by email on may 29

When will the IV fee be invoiced? Does my AOS package have to be submitted and received before NVC generates the bill?

1. From what I understand it has to be the whole federal return.
2. My kid’s had the exact same info attached as mine.
Thank you for your reply

I've been using Saylin's guide to pretty much get me to the stage I am at now. And that is NVC stage about to make payment for AOS fee. But looking ahead and unable to find the same answer consistently on here to my question. I wanted to know
1) do we have to scam the entire tax transcript pages (i hear its more than 20 pages) with the I-864 package 2) do we need to submit the same supporting documents with my child's I-864

I mean scan* not scam I know someone would point that typo out
This is probably the wrong forum but I'm sure someone will correct me...

I need help in figuring out what my options are regarding my $165 payment via USCIS ELIS. I created an account prior and came back a few days later to make complete payment however I do not remember my password. It gave me security questions that I do not even remember choosing as options. To the point where it is telling me that my account is locked and revoked. I tried creating a new account with a different email but it will not accept the information since it recognizes that DOS # and A# have been inputted previously. I emailed helpdesk and they told me they have no record of my account and unable to reset my password for me. So does anyone else have any ideas on what can be done???
