  1. My spouse will be working on H1B from this June. I've received H4 through her. I'll primarily keep working in Saudi Arabia, but planning to transfer my income to US bank account from Saudi Arabia. I'm assuming that i'll have to pay tax over it as well.

Does this makes me eligible to have an SSN?

  2. Try through your contacts in Dubai to get the Driving License translated into English and stamped from the driving school and then attested from chamber of commerce in Dubai.

Why i'm saying this is because, normally from my Saudi Experience, if original is available then chamber of commerce attests most of the documents. This letter can be in the name of your DMV and would most probably be accepted by the DMV.

    You must also have following for applying for a license;

    • Passport along with Visa
    • I-94 card.
    • H4 Approval notice ( I797 form H4)
    • H1B approval notice of the spouse (I797 form H1B)
    • Letter from SSN office that you are not eligible for SSN.
    • Utility Bill ( You can get electricity bill or phone bill on your name).
    • Rental Lease papers (If you have name on it.
    • Bank account Statements of US Banks.
    • Medical Insurance Papers
    • ITIN of H4 visa holder (Individual tax identification Number)
    • International Driving license
    • Depending on state sometimes they ask for H1B visa holders Passport, SSN and I-94. So, it is a good idea for your spouse to come along with you with documents.
    • Date of Birth certificate from Home country (in English)
  3. Hi,

My parents got their Green Card through my US citizen brother. But they returned to Pakistan and never returned for almost 11 years now. Now my brother wants them to come back because of their age (70+).

My question is that, since the normal process of immigration is lengthy in Pakistan (it takes 3-5 months to get an appointment request reviewed only). Can they apply for visit visa and then after landing in US apply for change of status I-485? I checked with one of the lawyer and he said they may face an issue with misrepresentation when their case is reviewed. Do they wait for say 90 days to pass and then apply? How should it go? Because of their health, we can't risk putting them into a long queue of immigration.

I would really appreciate an answer.
