Well, our journey has come to an end. US citizenship acquired and no more USCIS! Here's a little write-up about the final step in the citizenship process (naturalization). We've already applied for her US passport!

Our interview at the embassy was July 10th (Wednesday) and we had her passport by the following Saturday. I'm guessing it will take a little longer for it to get to you because we are in Luzon (but not in Manila).

Hi. I wonder when was your case got completed?
Our visa was approved a few days ago. We applied back in August, so it has been about 11 months.
-
Don't forget you need to pay the travel tax (for all immigrants exiting), which can be paid at the NAIA.
Thanks, Hank! We've prepared for that. It's still 1,620 P isn't it?

Thanks, everyone! The passport has already been delivered and I've paid the immigrant fee. All that's left is to get the CFO stamp and we are ready to go.

Thanks!! It's a bit nerve-racking because it is the end of such a long process (as I mentioned in the post). We are happy and relieved.

Good news--our spousal visa was approved. I took the time to write a quick walk through:

It's legit--very helpful for making sure you have the paperwork filled out correctly (which is a big deal) and for answering questions about the process in a timely manner.

If you can show them your records from previous exams that may cut down on the shots just a little. My wife got a shot for the flu, chicken pox, measles/mumps, and diphtheria--four in one day. Made her a little sore and weak for a few days but not a big deal.

Here's something I wrote after my wife went through the exam. This isn't a walkthrough per se but some helpful advice for getting ready, hotels, etc.

Thanks everyone. I was kind of figuring an hour early was the "sweet spot" (kind of like the medical exam). I think if you arrive too much earlier than that you just end up waiting longer outside.

Spousal visa interview is coming up. How much earlier should we arrive before our interview time? Appointment is set for 6:15 a.m. Thanks!

Here's a post based on experience and the advice you guys have given me. Feel free to refer others to it. Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for the info, guys--very helpful.

How long do things take on the 2nd day? Would be be done by the morning of the second day?

I have a quick question regarding the medical exam. Do you have to go back to St Luke's the second day to get the results or is it usually all finished in one day?

This is you're talking about getting the 10-year visa.

If you're talking about the fiancee visa adjustment of status, I don't. Sorry.
