  1. Our interview was on 3/31 and on the CEAC website it says our passport was ISSUED on 4/6... I'll keep you updated on how long it takes if you'd like.

Thank you for answering this question. I was about to make a new post about this. I was so worried that we messed up. After we were approved the cosul only told us check the website or call the Santiago location to see when the visa will be ready. We were approved on 4/1. So there have been no updates as of yet. Thanks again for the info.

  2. Here's my timeline with a little bit more details

Nov 3rd - USCIS Texas sent petition to NVC

Dec 22nd - NVC received petition & I paid AOS fee and agent

Jan 26th - was able to pay IV fee and DS260

Jan 27th - sent AOS and IV packets to NVC

Jan 29th - NVC confirmed they received packages by email

Feb 6th - sent an email to NVCExpedite requesting an expedite due to financial hardship of the USC

Feb 8th - NVC confirmed they received my email and sent it to the embassy for consideration

Feb 11th - Embassy accepted expedite request by email - they're waiting for the NVC to send the AOS & IV information

Mar 6th - NVC sent documents to the DR

Mar 9th - CEAC website said "in transit"

Mar 11th - CEAC website said "ready" and to schedule interview and VAC appt.

... So to answer your question, yes I had already sent the AOS and IV packets in. I wasn't sure if they would have accepted my expedite so I sent them in anyways. I feel like it didn't slow down my case really. I wanted to show that I was responsible so I made sure to pay all of the fees and give them everything they requested before asking for an expedite. I feel like it worked.

  3. Did you get any emails from the embassy or NVC Expedite?? We got our expedite granted on Feb 11th and it took them a little less than 30 days to get all of our documents together and send them out. Our documents were sent to the embassy on March 6th and they got to the embassy and I was able to schedule my husband's appts yesterday, March 11th!

It's crazy how this is such a long process but when things happen, they happen REALLY fast =), GOODLUCK!

well I got my case expedited! called today and nvc told me it was granted.. I have no idea whats next!

  4. Thank you everyone! He'll be leaving for his medical in the morning and going to the VAC in the afternoon. Do you all think that he'll make his 2:30 appt at the VAC? We live in Jarabacoa - well just him at the moment, and its a pretty long drive. Him and his chofer will leave around 3AM so he'll be there pretty early. Do people line up at the medical exam place? I can't believe we'll be together this month!!!!

  5. Hi guys, I'm sorry for not responding as I had no answer for you all. I was able to get my case expedited due to financial hardship. My husband lost his job in the DR and I, the USC, was having to help him financially and could no longer afford to. It was either daycare for my child or a roof over his head. Needless to say I've had to take out a loan for the time being but....

My case was expedited at NVC on Feb 11th. I just saw on the CEAC website that it was sent to Santo Domingo TODAY!!! I called NVC since Feb 11th once/twice a week and they told me that they didn't know a timeframe and that I had to wait for them to get all of the documents I sent together. I called this evening to confirm what I saw and she said that from here on out all calls need to be directed to the embassy!

Its been almost a year since I last saw my husband (physically that is). He hasn't met our 5 month old daughter yet. This is such a blessing, hopefully we'll be together soon!

As of my understanding you have to call them else it takes longer to get anything in mail..however mine was approved but still had to submit docs and fees to NVC..and I think it won't be any faster

    hi,

Can I ask you all how long did it take to get approved? I got an under review email 10 days ago and no news since then...

    congratulations,

may i ask for what reason did you get your case expedited? and how long did it take you to receive the expedition approval email?

we sent an expedition request too because my husband was diagnosed with seizure disorder, we attached to the email the doctor report, and we received an under review email 2 days ago, my husband and I are so nervous and so so in need for the expedition.

same situation embassy approved my expedite request, however they still want NVC to review.. what's the point of expedite

I'm also in the same situation but NVC says Embassy approved the request but told them to complete the case before sending it to them.

I ask the question; then, what's the point of expediting ? if it's still gonna take NVC the 60days to get Case Completed ?

Did you get any news about your file? Did it end up reaching the embassy yet? Im in the same situation i got the exact same email when my case was expedited 2 weeks ago but now they can't tell me what happens from here now that i have a case number. I have no idea whether to send papers to NVC or wait to see if my file gets shipped out to Sydney consulate

  6. Congrats! Nvc will forward the case to embassy along with whatever they have.It took almost 3 weeks for embassy to receive my case. The embassy will give you access to schedule appts and will send you list of what is needed for interview.

Thank you! How will I know? Do I need to call NVC or the embassy to check that they're sending it? Will it say something on the CEAC website? I'm so surprised that they accepted it, I'm all disoriented =).

  7. The NVC just notified me that the US Embassy General has approved my expedite request. I've sent the AOS & IV package to the NVC already. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I should do next? Here is part of the email...

"The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General has accepted this case for expedited processing. This file will be forwarded to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General when we finish our intake process and we do not have timeframe.

Please note that the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General may still request additional forms or fees at the time of your interview. Please be prepared to submit any missing forms and pay any required fees at the time of your interview."

    Thank you in advance

  8. Just checked uscis and saw this... opinions?? does it just mean someone opened our case? did anyone else get this, and if so, how long did it take you to get NOA2 after?

    Initial Review

On November 1, 2014, your name was updated relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

  9. still waiting.... i had called last month around this time asking about an expedite and the woman said to wait that an expedite wouldn't be beneficial right now and that i have approximately 15 days to hear something about our petition. It's been exactly 6 months PD 3/12/2014 today. My due date is 10/22. I knew hubby wouldn't be here for the birth of our baby girl but its all starting to become real. what a disaster =(

  10. Hi Senna,

In the Dominican Republic the USC spouse must be present at the visa interview. Not sure if any other countries are like this also. I was told that we couldn't get our case expedited just because I'm pregnant. I also saw somewhere else that if I can't make it down for the interview that they'll just put on some type of list. But I was wondering if someone could explain it to me better.

Congratulations on your little one =)

Thank you F&A! Would I need to call ahead of time to let them know I will be not attending?? I don't know if that would be to NVC or the Consulate.

  11. Hi everyone,

I've never had to post a question because I've found so many other threads useful. However, I can't seem to find information on my special subject =). Husband (Dominican) and I (USC) found out we were expecting at the beginning of March. Due to health problems, I had to move back to Michigan to find a job and visit an obgyn here. Our i-130 PD is March 17th, 2014 and we're hoping - just like everyone else - that this won't take too much longer. Maybe NOA2 in Sept?? We're expecting our little on at the end of October and due to my high risk pregnancy, I'm not able to travel anymore but my husband and I don't know how much longer we can wait. Has anyone had experience in this topic? Would the Consulate take just my husband at the interview? Would they deny us or put us on a waiting list?

    Please help! =)

  12. Hi fellow March 2014 filers!!

I have a quick question about the process... My case is at the Texas Service Center, My case was received March 12th. I know the process time says 6.4 months but what does that mean exactly?? Will my husband be here in 6/7 months?? I have a hard time believing that. Is it just the NOA2? What comes after the NOA2 and how much more time after that? Please help ladies and gents, I can't quite wrap my pregnant brain around this whole process still!!
