50 - 26 age difference for us and no problemo at all with it during the embassy interview..
Hiring a lawyer would be a total waste of $$$$ola.
-
CR-1 took us 6 months and now my wife has her green card and can re-start her career immediately..
-
Does anyone here know if embassy in Manila allows the petitioner to come with the spouse on his interview? I am planning to travel to Manila on his interview, for support. It'll be nice if I can be beside him on his interview...
Yes you can be there every step of the way through the Manila interview process..I flew across the Pacific just to experience it with my wife. So worth it!

We picked our visa up 3 days after getting approved
-
they didnt ask for the passport number..they asked for the visa number..which i take is the red number although the later answers on this tread made things confusing again..
thanks for the help
-
The number the airlines ask for when trying to book a flight online? Is it the red one or one of the other numbers ?
Thanks

Very fortunate to have our case both expedited at stage 1 and stage 3..Still we had to suffer through all the anxiety that comes with the paperwork and not knowing the timeline..
Our case was given final approval today at the US Embassy in Manila.
I'm sure better times are ahead for all of you,,It's crazy how long they make you wait.
-
Also approved today..Thanks 76 and others for the advice..
-
Thanks Hank..Your straight forward style of advice really helped me out during our final stage..
We were approved today. Headed for Cebu ..then off to Hawaii and then California..Life is good.

I dont have my 2013 W2 with me in the phils.. but do i need it since it's the 2012 taxes that im using as my last year from the AOS?
-
got it figured out hank..thanks..
rescheduled from mar 12th to march 25 just to make sure everything's in order..now im hoping to move up to around march 18th to 20th..
this embassy scheduling is a fun game..beats solitare.

Can somebody tell me what is the visa control number used to schedule an appointment online and where could I find mine as a cr-1 case
-
thanks!
We also will have an issue with our medical clearance since the wife just had it done this past Friday and our interview is on Thursday..What do you think our chances are ? Will the Embassy have our case already? I know they want at least 7 days but we want the March 12th date...
-
thanks dwheels..i researched and found out in Manila an appointment cofirmation printout is as good as an appointment letter..
Now it all comes down to if our medical has made it to the embassy in time for our interview..fingers crossed!
-
Also..Do we need a local police certificate to go along with our NBI clearance?
-
an appointment letter emailed to me yet..Our CR-1 case was expedited to this stage
The reason I did that was because the next date available was May 20th..I asked the operator if my case would be allowed at the embassy with just a appointment cofirmation letter..She said you have to go there and find out..Which I took as there's a chance this would work even without a regular appointment letter..The operator told me that if they didnt let us interview, we would just have to reschedule. So it seems there's not much to lose..Also maybe we finally get emailed the letter before the 12th
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Ok we have just made an interview date for March 12th for our cr-1 visa...but we havnt yet received an appointment letter..
Our case had been expedited and on the CEAC status update it read the following ..
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have received interview scheduling instructions.
Also our medical was completed on Friday and our appointment is 6 days later..We're supposed to give at least 7 days for the paperwork to clear at the embassy
The reason I went ahead and selected March 12th was because the next available date would have been May 20th..
Do we need that appointment letter or is the appointment cofirmation enough? Can we get by with only 6 days from medical to the interview?
Any good advice i can get here will be much appreciated..It's confusing as always..

Did you by chance request a expedite after your NOA2. And no there is no Toll free number for NVC sorry. You have to call. Call when they just open (7am EDT or close to closing midnight EDT).
expedite
-
Our status was updated to -in transit to the Consular Section- ...then it also reads.. *your interview date was provided to you by the NVC*
but we didn't receive an email with an interview date..so now of course I need to find out...
I'm now in the Philippines..Is there a way of calling the NVC from here on a toll fee number? (i know that's probably a stupid question but i really dont want to call them at great exspense)..or i should email them?
-
is the MNL # for making the visa payment the same as the MNL# we had issued to us at the NVC?
-
Is there a specific NVC email that needs to be brought to St. Lukes, or is it any NVC email that has the MNL case # included?
-
Are my 2010-11-12 irs tax transcripts enough for my benificiary to bring to the embassy interview or do i need the actual 1040's and W-2's?
I'm going over the documents required for the Manila embassy and I'm confused (like always).
It says to bring the national police clearance form (NBI)..But I sent it to the NVC ..Do we need to acquire another original copy or will the NVC ship ours to Manila? Same question goes for other paperwork the was sent to the NVC..
-
Thanks Saylin,,Have it ready to go..Hoping for the best.

Saylin do you have any advice for my situation (see my above post)?...I'd appreciate any wisdom you could throw my way .
