  1. Okay, I just got off the phone with AA. I was able to reserve the tickets and was even able to reserve seating so we could sit together! Hazel has to go to the local AA ticket center in Malate and pay for and receive the tickets. I was able to get the tickets for $909... Seems high but I'm happy to have this over and done with.

Thank you all for your help and I hope this is helpful for others..

  2. My Fiancee recently interviewed and was approved for her K1 to the US. My family and I are flying over in January to bring her (Hazel) home to the us. I've already booked our (Mom, Sister and I) airline tickets (round trip) on American and JAL. Now I am looking for a good way to get Hazel on the same flights with us for her one-way flight back to the US. I couldn't do it with AA when I booked our tickets. Apparently, her tickets can't be purchased by a third party... Not sure why.. Does anyone have any experience or advice on how I can get her on our existing flights without costing an arm and a leg? I'm afraid travel agencies will overcharge her.

    Thanks

  3. The question we are seeking answers to is, what happens next? The embassy in Manila has received our K1 I-129F package from the U.S. Our question is about the procedures to follow now. The guides and flow chart are offering information different from what Hazel received when she called the consul.

Can some of you share your experiences? We are clear of what to do during the interview, but there is a bit of confusion on our part about getting things done prior to that event.

Thank you all so much for your assistance.

  4. Good morning, me and my fiancée are having a dillema of the package which I am supposed to received after our case arrived and processed here(us embassy-Phil)..typically as indicated in the k1flow chart once our case reaches my embassy they will going to send the package on my home address which is contrary to what the us embassy agent had told me...that's I am not going to received anything because that package will be their filing record...and Instead i was adviced to pay the visa fee and have my interview schedule..

Tried to phoned them everyday to clarify my issue but sadly they are telling me the same answer:(

So confused..if they will going to send me the package or not:(?.need your help..

    Thanks and godbless

  5. Ok, obviously I've decided to re-apply with EVERYTHING included this time. However, I am having difficulty with a couple things. Hoping for guidance here. I have put together a Waiver letter but I'm not sure if it will suffice. (Will post it if needed) I am also a bit confused as to where to send it. I know I have to wait for my previous petition to be discarded, but do I simply send in my request for a waiver with my new petition?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  6. Yea no Kidding , i was not blaming him/her but the consular employee who said something this stupid and lead this couple to being denied (even though i said they also have their part of guilt in this). Do you realize that this person who works at a US embassy just said whatever to them? I would start something to get this person fired right away, this is a big professional mistake, you either know what you are talking about and don't say BS or you don't know and don't allow yourself to give immigration advice to people.

Exactly, it looks like they are not....

Yes, I really wish I had written down this women's name and number. If nothing else to speak with her supervisor about her "attempt" to be helpful. I don't think she had malice in mind when she advised me, just very poor understanding. It was truly a case of 'the blind leading the blind". haha. Lesson learned. I only hope I get the opportunity to help someone else avoid this situation.

Once again, thank you all for your support in this process. I'm now planning to re-file after my current I-129F expires, write a letter to get a waiver and begin the waiting process again. Good news, I get to see Hazel again in August. I just can't wait another six months to see her. hehe.

  7. Ok, so here is my situation. I was following the advice of an US embassy employee when I first filed my I-129F in November 2012. According to her, "All you need to send is the I129F and the check and USCIS will contact you with a list of required documents and proof statements." So, I sent just that, I129F and a check for $340. And waited (Fat, dumb and happy), until 3 months went by and still no request for information. I called and was told "Your information is still under initial review, and it's best to wait." So, I waited. Well, needless to say, I received the denial letter stating "The petition you filed did not contain any initial evidence or supporting documentation. You have failed to comply with regulatory requirements for documents to support your petition, as out lined in the instructions on the Form Petition for Alien Fiancé (Form I-129F).

I realize this is all my fault and I feel like a heel for not researching more prior to my sending of documents. I'm curious as to whether or not to appeal the denial? When I called the USCIS a very helpful staffer told me to just send in the required information with the I290B (Notice of Appeal or Motion) paperwork and it will be no problem. This process is another $630. But, if approved the wait will be very short. When I called an attorney about possibly handing my appeal because of the legal prowess necessary to write a legal brief, I was informed many appeals are denied and even if the USCIS approves it, the Embassy or the interviewer in the Philippines can deny it at anytime, or really make the interview very difficult for my fiancé. His advise was to wait for the case to be dismissed (30 days) then start the whole process again. They will handle everything for me for a mere $975 (flat rate) + filing fees.

I am open to any and all suggestions. I've got calls into several other attorney's to see if this guy was just wanting my business or if I really don't have much of a chance in my appeal.

I will note, Neither of us has ever been arrested, married, have children etc. I have traveled there, have pictures with her and her family, lots of receipts and travel documents, tax forms, letters of intent to marry etc.

Thank you so much for your input.
