  1. Hello,

My wife's visa interview is coming up, and we have paid the $88 AOS fee and $230 for the IV, now apparently in India we have to make an appointment to pick up the passport after the approval and to do that we have to provide a MRV receipt number. We tried every single possible number and non of them work. We clicked on the payment information, where it says to pay the $240. I cannot find any information on VJ or the CEAC website about the $240 fee. Will someone please help us with this?

Below is the link to set up the appointment for reference.

    Thank you.

  2. Majority of them do actually, they just categorize in "foreign" DL. I believe State farm and Progressive do business in Canada, so i think they will recognize it here as well. Message me if you need more info.

  3. Alicia98981...I understand what you are saying... especially before we got our NOA2... What I did to keep myself busy so I did not stalk online all the time was I kept going through all the papers I would need for the next step of the process so when the time came.. I was ready. And I read.. and read, and read some more.. trying to find everything about Casablanca experiences! (they are one tough consulate!) I still *try* to not stalk processing times. It is frustrating! Hopefully it will go fast for you! Good luck! :star:

    Ramadan Mubarak HettyandSaid!

I Completely agree with your statement above. I feel like my timeline is very similar to yours and I wish all the luck for you to be united. I'm praying in this holy month that we will have nothing but good news IA.

    Good luck on your journey!

  4. I have sent all my docs such as aos, civil docs a month ago and it still say N/A... so just track that it got delivered. I overnighted mine through FedEx, I've heard that USPS losses documents all the time so I didn't want to risk it. And as soon as your tracker says it is delivered, call NVC to make sure they have it. Then they take 30 business to review your civil docs before they will update anything.

  5. The ceac status for IV and AOS documents don't change.

Just curious is the May 30 is the day when u sent your package or the date they NVC receive it? I saw your timeline and it's written there that your IV package was sent on May 24.

Yes they received it on May 30th... and since then, they have been singing the 30 business days song. Like the year long wait wasn't bad enough already.

  6. I always get stuck with the bad ones, Haven't gotten any of the helpful ones as of yet :-(

I had Mike today, I got the stern "Wait 30 business days" and nothing more.

I got the same response also... on top of that, the rep said to call at the end of April and I said its almost 50 days and he goes "yes, we are backlogged and its taking a long time"

Can't wait for this non sense to be over with...

  7. Hi everyone,

My NOA2 was approved on Feb 24th 2014, and NVC has confirmed they received my case on March 10th. I have been calling every week since then but they are not providing the Invoice numbers or anything. They are pretty much telling me not to bother them within the 30 day mark. Should I keep calling them until I get an answer or what are you guys doing to keep things moving? Please help!

  8. I am amazed with the level of support I am seeing on this thread and people sharing their stories. I know this wont do anything to USCIS and their processing times, but knowing that we all are wishing and hoping for each other, makes me get by the day and be more hopeful tomorrow.

On that note, it is really sad how insensitive some people are being, causing more pain and provoking people that are hurt. If you can't say anything to support us then don't say anything.

  9. Sorry but I have to be honest here, 90% per cent of you here made a decision to get in a foreign web site and find someone abroad,or had arranged marriage with people living abroad or by "accident" met the guy/girl online, whatever? others met their partners when travelling abroad or studying here, then why all this complain come from?. We are our choices, you made a choice to have a long distance relationship or started a relationship when living here and not being a GC holder yet, and USCIS has anything to do with that, they have to scrutinize everyone entering in this Country t's their job. Let's stop with the bs about talking of illegal people, they are here over 20 years without status and any amnesty, then they are not taking your place with USCIS.

Please explain this chart to me! Still standing behind your statement "then they are not taking your place with USCIS"???
  10. I want to thank you all for sharing your stories, for once i didn't feel all alone or isolated in this process. Reading your responses and the private messages i have received, i am feeling more hopeful again. And i really appreciate the support and advice you all have given me. Please stay strong and i pray for all of us to be together with our significant others soon so we can start making up for the time we spent apart.

  11. My life in a nutshell... Arranged marriage in May 2013, Filed first week on June, didn't hear a squeak till mid December that my case is getting transferred to NSC. Was asked too wait 60 days because inquiring... today is the 70th day. Now the sites been down. I have been with my wife exactly 22 days in a year of us knowing each other. I will never forget the pain you have caused me USCIS.

  12. Thank you so. Much for your helpful answer! You know exactly how it is and how disappointing this process is! In my eyes it isn't fair at all, but oh well,.... This said so many people already before me and still people that filled after us are getting approved! Which is ok in my eyes as long as it wouldn't take them so long for us to get approved as it does right now..... I mean 6 months is really a hard thing to take and when I think about it, we almost could have get married and it would probably come in the end the same waiting time......

I mean who knows how long we are still going to wait?! :'(

Did you contacted all of the senators in your state? Or were they from different states??

I haven't had the need to, since they all are getting the same information... But in my eyes a GOOD senators will still get an inquiry open for you even if you are contacting a different state rep. So I think you should try still your luck, because at the end of the day I don't want the feeling of not trying enough to get my wife over here. She knows how much I love her and doing everything I can to get her here asap.

And just so you know, I have also contacted a lawyer in my state who handles immigration cases and she is well known. And unfortunately she said the same thing when it came to USCIS, they will do what their heart desires and take there time. Honestly USCIS has me sick to my stomach.

I work in a professional field and I work weekends, just to make sure that my clients are taking care off and I don't go home until my work is done. unfortunately the failure by USCIS to bring families together disgusts me. I don't know how they sleep at night, knowing there are thousands of families are apart and haven't seen each other in months, in my case 8 months now.

Keep trying and do whatever it takes to get your significant other here asap, legally that is.

  13. Hi Trisha,

I completely understand your pain, and I am also in the similar position. I'm waiting for my wife's CR-1 visa since last June, its been 8 months and I already contacted my senators, 3 of them so far. To some it all up in short, USCIS absolutely does not care about what they are doing to the families, and the senators can help you make an inquiry and update you on the status but that is all. Here is what I find really upsetting, there are ways to expedite this but only if its a life threatening situation, you are in the military OR YOU WORK FOR USCIS ( what baloney!!)

Now to answer your questions, yes you can request to get other senators involved, and each one will ask you to sign the Privacy release form, and they all will come with the same explanation as the last one, maybe a little more detailed, because that's all the USCIS tells them. But unfortunately they cannot help you expedite it

I have never felt this helpless in my life, and now USCIS is holding my future.

Hang in there, your day will come soon.

    God help us all.

  14. Everybody please sign the petition and forward it to others... we only have 434 signatures so far. This may be one of the only way to get our voices heard, because if you haven't noticed USCIS doesn't care about us. And just because your application is approved doesn't mean you should stop there. Help the others, who knows our friends and family might have to go this painful process if it doesn't get fixed.

  15. Hello everyone,

Next week will be 9 months since I have filed for the IR-1 visa, and I have been patiently waiting as much as possible. But when I see that there are petitioners here that have been waiting since February and March, I can only imagine what they are going through.

Yes its a privilege to apply for your significant other to move in this country. I earned my citizenship in 2008 after the whole naturalization process, so I am not taking anything for granted. I checked the processing times on USCIS last year and it said 5 months before getting married, so instead of going "around the system" of bringing her here on a visitor visa, I decided to do the right thing and applied for IR-1. BUT, I paid a fee for USCIS to process a visa ( to provide there service) 4 months delayed and still no end in sight, this is enough!

My fellow VJer's have done an excellent job in running campaign's and gotten some answers, I have seen more progress within last 2 months compare to last 8 months. Not only that, think about the people applying now... how long are they going to wait?

I really think we need to get media involved in this, newspapers, immigration insights, online blogs, facebook, twitter etc, to get our voices heard. I am no couples therapist or a doctor, but under no circumstances a separation of a year or longer is/or should be healthy for a marriage (I know there are exceptions, that's why they are called exceptions).

So please, who ever has any connections with the media, I request you all reach out and get our voices heard. I don't think USCIS is in any hurry to process our applications and as an American, I am ashamed of this system failing to bring families together.

    P.S.

This is not a jab on this great country of USA, I love this country as much as any US born, or maybe more, but I am just expressing my frustration with USCIS, so please don't try to take any different meaning out of this.

    Best regards,
