Hello everybody!
First of all I want to thank you all for the support given to me!
Thank God everything went well and I'm finally with my love! I got here on 7th of January and now I am wondering what should I do.
Our wedding will be on 21st of February, so I was wondering if I have to wait till the wedding to apply for SSN or something else that u could start doing.
Thank u all for your support!
God bless!

Hello Anne,
I just left London and returned to Brasil to do my interview and medical exam here, but before leaving I went to my GP and asked for a report. So the doctor printed all my history since I started on that GP, all visits with comments, exams taken...I don`t know if it will help but I got it anyway. The doctor was very helpful printing for me without even ask. My medical exam will be on 3rd of december.
Good luck for you!

We got our case numbers and were told that by midweek we will get our interview date! I'm not holding my breath but hoping that it is soon. I REALLY hoped to have my guy here before Christmas but I'm thinking I might have to wait. How is everyone here doing?
Fantastic! Now you can relax a lit bit...things are happening as you can see!!!
We still haven`t got any letter from NVC or from my embassy...but as you know they scheduled our interview...it was 2 1/2 months from the day that they got our process in Rio...so you should expect the same darling...I don`t think he will make before Christmas...sorry... but no worries, from the next year all the Christmas you will be together!
All the best for you!

My fiancee is in Rio de Janeiro. We applied for the K-1 Visa in April, it was accepted on May 7 and approved on September 11. I received the approval letter from the USCIS just days later but he has received NOTHING. We called the NVC and they don't have the case yet. Since I live in Michigan, I am hoping to get him here before it gets too cold. How longf from the time of approval until you got notification from the NVC? I'm hearing stories of people having the visa in hand in 6 months but we are there now and no visa yet. We are both ready. As for the person who said it is taking two months to get the appointment at the embassy, where did you hear that because when I emailed the embassy, I was told that it just takes a few days.
Hello there!
Around 6 weeks after being approved we started to call NVC, on the second time they said that they received the case and gave us a number and said that we could follow up at the website ceac,state.gov. My fiance in California haven`t got anything yet from NVC, but the consulate in Rio confirmed that they got my case there. Tomorrow I`ll give them a call to find out what can I do to schedule the interview and pay the fee.
Keep calling them! They give 6 to 8 week. You`re still in time! Keep calm! Everything will be alright!
Best of lucky for you guys! I can let you know later how was the interview!

I`,m not in a rush anyway because I am still in London, I am leaving on 27th of october to Rio, i just don`t want them to schedule it before i get there!
That`s what concerns me more! It`s just 2 weeks, they won`t schedule it that fast, I hope!

Hello VJs!!!
I am intrigued because my case was approved and sent to NVC, my fiance called NVC and they received the case and thy gave us a number. I checked on ceac.state.gov and give this message:
ReadyImmigrant Visa Case Number: RDJXXXXXXXX RDJ Case Creation Date: 02-Oct-2013 Status Updated Date: 07-Oct-2013Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.htmlI e-mailed the brazilian consulate and they confirmed that they got the case there but no interview scheduled yet.My question is...my fiance haven`t got any letter yet confirming that NVC got the process or saying that the process was sent to my consulate. And so far I haven`t got any letter too. What about the packet 3 or 4 that everybody talks about? What to expect now?Thank you so much for your attention and support ! It`s very nice seeing everybody supporting each other!Best of lucky to you all! -
Thank you Tasha!
The number that you gave changed to the one that I was trying to call yesterday...my fiancé pressed 1 then 0 and it worked! We spoke to someone but our process haven`t reached NVC yet.
Thank you!
All the best for you too!

Hello VJs!
It`s been a month since my process was approved and my fiancé is trying to contact NVC but seems to be impossible speak to a representative.
This number don`t answer at all 603-334-0700
And this one only recorded message... (202) 485-7600
Does anyone know another contact number?
He e-mailed but no answer...
Many thanks,

It was a surprise for me yesterday when my fiancé told me he got the letter and we got the approval! 35 days?! I couldn`t believe! For a second I thought that maybe because it was the second time that we send the form. The first time they received our file on 24th of December 2012 and denied us on the end of may 2013. Then in july we`ve send again!
Amazing!
All the best for us! Hope it`s the same for everybody!
-
Thank you all guys! This long waiting wouldn`t be the same without Visa Journey! Good lucky to us all!
-
Hello everybody! Finally the best news so far! Our process was approved this time! My fiancé just got the letter! We filled for the second time in middle of july! I wasn`t expecting to be so fast, maybe because at the first we were denied for not sendind enough documentation...
But now something concerns me...I am in London but we`ve put my address in Brazil, I have my return flight for 27 of October, I`ll stop working on 5th of October...
My question for you guys is how long it will take for me to start to make appointments to doctor? Do you think that there`s any chance for me to do the medical exam in London? Do you think it will be enough time? help me please! (if it`s the case I`ll buy another ticket for earlier)
I am so happy but so concerned...
What will happen now?
Thank you so much!

Sorry to hear that, but everything happens for a reason. I know (or can imagine) how hard it`s been, but time is the best to heal your heart. If you felt pregnant even being on a birth control, I believe that there`s a reason behind that. Maybe it was meant to be.
Everything is gonna be alright! Believe in yourself! Take care!

I've learned for sure! If it was the case that I can go visit him even if it's for 90 days would be great for me. I could go spend time with him... Does anyone knows how it works if I was applying for spousal visa?
-
Feeling lost. I know people who got married on tourist visa or even with tourist visa expired. I need to know my options. It's a sad day for me but was kind of expected. It's so unfair to us to have to go through all this pressure. Me for example, I might have lost 3 kg, I'm not sleeping well for the past 2 weeks waiting for the answer which wasn't good and now we don't know which direction take to make it less painful as it is already.
-
would help me if you could justify your answers, so I can understand the good and bad sides of it.
-
You can file for spousal, it is cheaper, and still 9 months to process.
it I want to visit him in US, is it ok? During the process
-
Ok...
after our case being denied, we were expecting that because we filed all wrong. We only sent the form and the payment. Only after discover VJ that I realise that we sent all wrong. I found out at the website that our case was denied and now we have to wait the letter saying the reasons of being denied which should take a while.
I was reading another forum and there was a question between appeal or refile 129f and everybody was saying that refile was a best option. But now something came to my mind, he is coming to London to visit me for 2 months. I would like your opinion...do you think that would be a good idea if we get married here and apply for spousal visa?
Help me please!
Thank you all!
-
Today we got the bad news...it was denied...I was expecting because the way that we sent with rush and not reading properly the informations. But no problem, we won`t give up, we will appeal and this time make sure that we send everything in the right way. He will be here next week for 2 months, that`s what matter at this moment.
-
It was accepted because the payment was processed, but the processing center doesn't adjudicate the petition package. If you're lucky it will be five months. Many folks going through the petition process now have been waiting for 8+ months for their petition to be reviewed.
I mean, if he refile it will start all over again?
-
Well Gracevi, I was in the same boat. We sent them the form and payment only and they denied our petition outright. We had to file all over again. I am sorry but it happened to me.
I am very sorry to know that they denied yours, so what was your next step?
-
I thought that being accepted was a good sign.
Oh God...
if he refile it will take more 5 months to be accepted for NOA2?
-
I don`t mind waiting because my fiancé is coming to London for 2 months, the problem is that he is leaving San Diego in less than 2 weeks. I wish he would get the NOA2 before come
We called them and they said that we should wait.
I wish I knew this website before
-
Hello everybody!!
Soon is gonna be 5 months since we received NOA1. Seems that the estimate gets shorter everyday! How accurate is that? Did it work for you guys?
I check my case status at least 5 times a day. From which one I`ll hear first? Mail to my fiancé or the USCIS website?
Another question...when we filled for my K1 unfortunately we didn`t know yet about the Visajourney, so we follow the instructions on the website USCIS, we sent the form with the payment only, we thought that they would ask for evidences and documents right after, but the only thing that we know is that they accepted the case. What might happen?
Thank you guys!
green card name doesn`t match with marriage certificate

Hope everybody is doing amazing!
Everything went great with me, after a long waiting journey, I am very happy with my husband and our 2 adorable dogs! Life is being great!
here`s what happened to me:
when we got married i took away one of my name and added my husband`s name, so basically I had my name as Grace Maria L.. V... T..., so that`s the change of name that i have on my marriage certificate, but when I went to my interview for the green card, the officer advised me to take out my family name and keep only Grace Maria T... because was too long and gave some reasons to do it, it was the first thing that we spoke about on the interview, I wasn`t prepared to make this kind of decision but end up agreeing with him. So now that`s my name on my green card. My concern is that I am planning to visit Brasil and I am worried when I return, since my marriage certificate is different than the green card.
Did anyone went through similar situation?
Thank you!
